The townhouse itself is fine but not great. Mattresses are terribly uncomfortable and the property backs up to a busy highway so it is LOUD outside and in the back bedroom.
The biggest issue with this house is the unresponsiveness of the host. I see on other reviews that the host responds but the guest is not able to so I’ll be super clear with lots of details.
1. We were never sent a welcome email, I had to ask the day of check in to be sent the instructions to check into the house. I’m glad I did that early in the day because we really struggled to get timely responses from the host for the rest of our stay.
2. As of April 2023 the amenities advertised in the listing (the biggest selling feature of this property) are closed until further notice. The community pool is open and maybe the splash pad and mini golf but we didn’t see them open while there. The welcome letter says the mini golf and splash pad are open “dawn til dusk” but I’m not sure who’s definition of “dusk” they are using, they were both closed when we tried to use them at 5:30pm (the sun is still up). We messaged the host about this and their response was something to the effect of “the HOA is in charge of that we have no control” despite the fact that the VRBO listing heavily advertises these features that appear to have been closed for well over 2 years now (they say the closure is due to Covid 19).
3. The biggest annoyance we had was with the Wi-Fi though. The connection was terrible and slow. None of the tvs in the house would connect so streaming movies for the kids was not possible. We found a work around in connecting the TVs to our cell phone’s personal hotspot. I contacted the host via email about this early in the day and they asked if we followed reboot instructions in the welcome email - there were no instructions in the email so of course, no we did not do that. After not hearing from them after that and returning in the evening from the parks we found that the issue with the Wi-Fi was persisting. I emailed again, I called the phone numbers and got no answer, left several messages and got no response. At 12:30am I received an email back claiming that earlier in the day before they “submitted a maintenance request” to fix the problem. We were checking out the next day so for us this solution was useless and we have chalked it up to the same unprofessional attitude as with the closed amenities which was “what do you expect me to do about it”.
