Room was not clean. Urine smell on one of the bed. Toilet was not clean. Floors had not been swept and ruh was not vacuum. Dirt smudges on wall and door.

Very nice and clean rooms! The property has gates that are locked after a certain time at night, you use your room code to get in, so this made us feel very safe! Friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Every tiny detail was so cute and they thought of everything from snacks to bedding to pictures on the wall everything was carefully placed for a specific reason. We loved it!!!!

Wonderful spot! Quiet, clean, super cute. In the middle of nowhere but we lived it. Rooms were great. They do warn you there’s no food nearby…there’s nothing :)

Property was very clean and quiet! I had kids and only staying a night but if staying more than one night make sure to bring something for them to do. A play area or pool Would be a great asset. I will definitely stay again though.

Perfect Get-Away
This was a perfect little get-away spot for my family and I. We went to Starkville to tour Mississippi State University and this was a perfect spot to get to know the area. The daily happy hour was really nice too.

Pleasant surprise!
What a gem!! The Tangarine Motel was a pleasant surprise! The room was super clean and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the complimentary water and snacks that were waiting for us in the room. The towels were luxurious and the robes were a nice touch! We will be back!

The Tangerine is extremely clean and new! Very pleasant stay. It felt a bit remote which was expected based on description. The only thing missing was a microwave. I like to heat my coffee up when it cools down. Coffee was plenty hot right out of the Keurig. Fabulous Stay!

Loved my stay!
Such a wonderful stay! Very clean, super cute, very comfortable. It is secluded and about 30 minutes from Columbus, MS where I was attending events - but the style, comfort, peacefulness, and amenities made up for the longer drive. HIGHLY recommend the Tangerine! Security was great too - the whole place was amazing and I can't say enough good things. Perfect for Instagram too, the branding was on point! Love the Tangerine!

Out of the way pleasant surprise.
Newly built just a short trip from town. Shuttle service is being introduced if you don’t want to drive in for dinner. Extras like bottled water soda snacks in the room are an unexpected benefit. Clean quiet.

Hidden Gem!
This is a hidden gem! This is more of an event center than a hotel but so cool. The Hill is an old school that has been converted to a wedding venue, business and 18 room hotel. It is approximately 15 minutes away from Starkville in the middle of nowhere. The facility is beautiful. The rooms are amazing and the owners are great.

The Tangerine is a dream
I cannot say enough good things about the Tangerine. We were in town for my grandmothers 99th birthday party and wanted to try a different place to stay than our usual commercial line of hotels and I’m so glad we did. From the contactless check in, to the cutest little seating areas outside to gather with others you’re staying with, to the nightly breakfast drop off and invites for “popcorn and beverage happy hour”, it was evident someone is pouring their heart into this place and it didn’t go unnoticed. My parents and sister stayed here also, all of our rooms were different but equally precious with details that made each one unique. If you ever get a chance to stay at this cute little place on the outskirts of town, it’s a 10/10 recommend 👌

We loved our stay. I wish i would have known about yhis place earlier. It's out a ways but well worth it. The small touches (robes, snacks, water, cokes) were such a nice surprise. The room was super clean. We will definitely be back.

Got to meet Robbie, his wife and mom … all are delightful. The free treats and happy hour make it extra special. We needed some attention given to our door lock and Robbie and his mom expeditiously resolved the problem! Suggest getting tissues for the room otherwise no complaints… we absolutely loved our stay ans highly recommend the Tangerine!

Super nice hotel. We arrived late due to travel, so it was a tad hard to see from the road. Once here, though, found some awesome goodies waiting for us in the room, including a hand written welcome note. It’s the small touches that made this a unique and exquisite hotel. Definitely coming back.

Great venue but not convenient for quick business stay
The motel style room rental was new and nice. Would be a lovely wedding or small conference area. It is a renovated high school with the old grownover football field too. Very cool setting but there are a few things that made it not ideal for my needs. 1. Business trip, one night, by myself and i was in the middle of nowhere with not a soul around. It was creepy and a little scary. I absolutely did not sleep the entire night listening to every sound. 2. That being said, the description says the office is open from 8 to 8 but there was no clear office area and no one around. Wasn't sure where to enter and had to drive around a strange construction area to get to the back where the rooms are. 3. I am highly allergic to feathers. I take my own pillow everywhere i go. While i understand the owners want the rooms to have luxurious interiors, i coughed most the night due to yhe full down duvet. There was no alternative but the sheet.
