Cozy cottage for two on the prestigious Courtomer Estate — pets welcome!

Le Cottage du Haras is a spacious one-bedroom house overlooking the ancient Protestant chapel (there are only four in France). It sits at the entrance to the 350 acre estate of Chateau de Courtomer. Once home to the staff that looked after the horses on the Stud farm it has been lovingly renovated to a high standard using traditional techniques and materials with our guests comfort in mind.
The double-aspect kitchen/diner looks out over the Chateau's park, the stud farm and the chapel. The kitchen is well equipped with entertaining in mind. Keen chefs will love the Smeg gas stove. A pantry leading off the lounge provides extra food storage space doubles as a laundry room.
The cosy lounge/diner is centred around the chimney and wood burner. It offers lovely views across the estate and provides ample space for guests to relax after a day spent exploring the area on foot, by bike, or on horseback.
The spacious upstairs bedroom features a sitting area and a queen size bed made up with crisp white percale sheets ready for our guests. To soak away the cares of the day the bathroom features a huge bath, fluffy towels and locally made handmade soap.
At the back of the cottage there is a large grassy area perfect for exercising our guests four legged friends and the terrace is well equipped for al fresco dining with a barbeque and elegant French garden furniture. As there are cattle on the estate we ask our guests to keep their dogs under control at all times.
The lively village of Courtomer is just a ten minute wall away. It has a restaurant, baker and well stocked mini supermarket. The escarpment behind the estate offers wonderful walking/cycling country offering fine views over the estate and the village.
