Audrey and Jon were the perfect guests. They followed all of our guidelines and left the cabin very clean and tidy. I would not hesitate to rent to them again.

Quiet Getaway Cabin
My partner and I decided to get away for a couple days, just the two of us, and to go somewhere quiet and cozy. We couldn't have found a better cabin. It was comfortable, well appointed and everything we wanted. It has a full kitchen, queen bed, gas fireplace, and everything you need. We stayed for two nights, and had a wonderful view of the snow falling up above the fireplace. One of the best amenities is the swim spa. It is massive, really relaxing and even lets you play music underwater. This was definitely one of our best getaways and we will definitely be back soon!!

Linda is a fantastic host. Very friendly and accommodating. The cabin is very cozy, and the trails and surrounding area are beautiful. A very peaceful environment, and a great release from city life. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Tiny cabin getaway
This place is beautiful. Secluded and super quiet. The cabin was very clean and had everything you would need. Our host Linda was amazing. Welcomed us when we arrived and really made us feel at home. Would highly recommend for a quiet getaway. Very impressed!!

Cozy, tiny cabin
I needed a place to stay while completing the 2023 MTA El Camino. This tiny cabin was perfect. The place has everything you need to enjoy an off-grid, offline getaway. Linda was a wonderful and gracious host. The cabin was immaculate, well equipped, and the bed was very comfortable (important after a 32km hike). I highly recommend.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay! I think what you meant to say was that we have a pretty eco friendly place , but it is tied into the traditional electrical system and is not actually off grid. I hope that you are able to do the hike again next year. We'd love to have you back!

Wonderful time of refreshing!
We were visiting from the United States and chose this tiny cabin to be a hub, for our adventures in exploring Southern Ontario. The cabin is cute and quiet, And was an absolutely perfect place to find rest.

Best honeymoon/vacation ever!!
Omgosh, where to begin! I'm still awestruck, from the location, the quaint beauty of the cabin, the peaceful tranquility, and our amazing, kind, warm-hearted hostess, Linda! We felt welcomed before we even arrived, her hospitality and kindness so warm and sincere, totally exceeding expectations! My (now) husband and I have been together for almost 11 years but had just got married on Aug 12th and came here for our honeymoon. We had more than 4.5 hrs drive to Summerhill (with good traffic) and were a few hours late for check-in, to which Linda was very accommodating. We were pleasantly surprised, upon arrival, to a gorgeous bouquet of flowers on the mantel, congratulating us and wishing us many happy years together! 🥰 How sweet and thoughtful!! ☺ The hot water heater wasn't working when we arrived, as a wren's nest had been relocated from a pipe the day before. It was no problem, we'd showered before we left, and the swimspa was available for warm water enjoyment. The heater service guy came very early (7:30) the morning of our 2nd full day, and to make up for the early wake-up time on our honeymoon, Linda treated us to breakfast. 😍 The trails are well-maintained and awesome, tho we only had 1 day w/o rain to be able to explore them. The time away, alone together, was exactly what we needed to relax, refresh, and reconnect! We loved it and had a wonderful time, we'll definitely be back!! ❤️ We have more trails we need to explore and was great to disconnect from all else!!

Hidden Gem!
The tiny cabin was absolutely perfect for us. It was so clean as well stocked with kitchen and bathroom amenities. It was so peaceful and beautiful, it was exactly what we were looking for.The cabin is tucked enough in the woods that it was very private yet close enough to restaurants, attractions and amenities. We loved spending our mornings sitting on the porch enjoying our coffee while listening to the many varieties of birds. This just added to the overall experience. Linda was such an incredible host, she couldn't have more gracious and her extensive knowledge of the area was amazing. She was always reachable if we needed anything. Unfortunately, for us we never had time to enjoy the swim spa, Linda gave us a tour of it and it looks amazing as well. What a beautiful retreat, we enjoyed every moment in this amazing cabin! Thank you Linda for a spectacular long weekend. Hope we get to stay again.

My husband and I got EXACTLY what we needed during our stay at this property. With a busy life at home, the simplicity of this property was perfect. When I say simple, I don't mind bare bones - this property had everything you needed to do whatever you wanted. The cabin itself was incredibly well thought out. The space is perfectly sized for two, the kitchen had all the amenities and tools that you need. Our favourite part of the experience was sitting on the porch watching the nature around us while it lightly rained on the roof. We also took the opportunity to take the bikes on site for a ride through the trails. The trails were really well maintained and scenic. We had been warned by the owner that the mosquitos may be really bad, but we didn't have a problem with them at all during our stay. Linda did take the opportunity to give us a really good tutorial on the swim spa that she provides for those who stay. It sounds really cool but we did decide not to use it during this stay. Locally, we took a drive in to Cowbell Brewery, which was a cool facility but we were a little turned off by the prices. Alternatively, we had an awesome time when we drove into Goderich and found a fantastic restaurant with a lakeview patio and live music. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone that just needs to disconnect from the world for a few days and am hopeful we can return again in the future!

Very nice and relaxing experience
We originally booked our getaway in March, days leading up to our escape, my girlfriend tested positive for covid. Linda was very understanding and offerd to rebook for another time. We had an amazing weekend very relaxing. Linda was very helpful when we had questions. The cabin was very cozy and was everything we needed too getway from the world. We didnt use the spa until the final night and it was the perfect way to end our weekend, very relaxing. We spent most of our time on the porch enjoying eachothers company and the weekend flew by. I would definitely recommend a stay here for anyone that wants to disappear and recharge.

Pleasant Birthday Weekend
We had a great time at Linda's tiny cabin. Very relaxing, peaceful environment. The swim spa was a hit. We hiked the trails on Linda's property and enjoyed visiting Clinton and Goderich. We loved it and intend to return in the summer months!

Cozy little cabin!
Had such a great time! We stayed for two nights - ended up cancelling our dinner reservations the first night so we could spend more time there, it was very cozy. Composting toilet was not an issue and the cabin was hotel-level clean. We had a tour of the swimspa and it was pretty incredible! The property is very peaceful and super quiet. We ended up spending the day on Lake Huron which was only a 20 minute drive away. The kitchen is well stocked and the little oven is great for cooking! We would love to come back here :)

Disconnect & Reconnect
This was exactly what we needed. The disconnect with actual life and the reconnect with each other. This sweet cabin takes you into the center of nature and allows for the serene and beautiful landscapes to wish you away from everyday hustle and bustle. We enjoyed this very much. Perfect Winter Cabin Escape
We had a wonderful stay at the little cabin here. It's perfect for a winter getaway! The cabin is warm, comfortable and has everything you need. The property had beautiful trails for snowshoeing and the hot tub/spa was a bonus. Linda was also a great host! Highly recommend!

Weekend Getaway
We had the perfect mini holiday that we didn't know we needed! Right from the welcome email, to when we checked out, the communication with Linda was frequent and helpful. The property was larger and more remote than we expected, giving us a true getaway. The cottage is nestled in the forest and had everything that we could need: quiet, comfortable, cozy. No TV or wifi, which was perfect for us. The indoor swimspa was an unexpected treat, and just added to the relaxing weekend. The trails on the property were gorgeous with the fall colours, and a short drive to the Maitland River in Goderich and the nearby town of Clinton gave us more to explore. Looking forward to returning next year to experience summer at NRG Sanctuary!

PLEASE READ!!
I just wanted to start my review by saying we didn't have a problem with our host Linda, she was super friendly and the cabin was very clean. But, I just think their needs to be something in the listing about the hot tub, the only reason I booked this cabin is because of the hot tub. It was my 10 year anniversary and my husband and I had planned to spend most of our time in the hot tub. There definitely needs to be more details in the listing about the hot tub. We were extremely disappointed when she told us that it wasn't just us That would be using it. There is another place on her property that she rents, maybe there are several, I'm not sure. So those who booked her other places can also use it as well..... That is not something we had expected...and also, this is even worse. If you think of being in a hot tub, do you imagine going in around 9 or 10 on the evening? Me too!! Well please don't expect that! There is a sign up sheet to book your time slot , the hrs of operation for the hot tub are from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00p.m. so since we only booked this for the hot tub we had to call and switch around our dinner and lunch reservations just to ensure we were home before it closes at 7:00. So we decided on our last night That since check out was at 11:00 in the morning that we would just head out since we wouldn't be able to use the hot tub. So we lost out on some of our money because we went home a night early. One other thing, maybe you are good at noticing in the picture of the toilet, but in case you missed it like myself, it is a composting toilet! My husband and I did NOT like it. I would say the experience is similar to using a toilet in a airplane or worse, an outhouse .... It gave me extreme anxiety to have to use it, going to the bathroom is an extremely private thing for me so it really bothered me. Linda had said when we were checking in just to call her if the pee bucket thing was full she would come empty it , since there is nitrogen in our pee she likes to dump it under the trees....... I did not like that either. I honestly would rather pee outside then to have someone come and empty my pee. It just felt like an invasion in of privacy somehow, I'm not sure why we felt that way but we did. I'm sure some people would like idea of it but we surely did not! But like I said, the cabin was clean and Linda was more than nice , so we didn't have a problem with her at all! Just the lack of details on the hot tub. Thanks!!

I'm sorry Katlyn that you were dissatisfied withyour stay., The main reason that people usually come here is because this is such an environmentally special place, so I try to make it as green as possible. I believe in wasting nothing of value. Natural fertilizers fall under this heading. We compost everything that is possible. It's called giving back to the land. I have had no one else have any problem with this. Most people here for the weekend don't even need me to empty the urine container. As for the composting toilet, it is nothing like an outhouse. There is no smell. There is no difference from a regular toilet except that you turn the crank instead of flushing it with water. As for the swimspa, there are no "boxes" to check off in the amenity section that would adequately explain what it is or how it can be used. It is neither shared or not. Shared is like they have at the YMCAs. Anyone can go in it at anytime, even if there's already people using it. That's why I have a system that allows everyone to sign up for a time slot when they can use it in private. I also told you that we have those hours to allow us to have time to do cleaning etc. I also told you " If you can't make it within those time slots, let me know and we will try to accommodate you... like if your supper is going to run late or something, you can let me know and you can use it outside of the open hours. " We haven't had to ever say no to anyone yet and almost all of our last month of guests have taken advantage of that offer, even if it was because they wanted to have a late night hot tub with their partner. Communication is the key. You also know that there is only one other place and it is only seasonal. I'm sure that you wouldn't have missed the one hour that the renters in the trailer used the swimspa while you were there. The whole rest of the time, it was available. I'm glad that you were honest about your feelings on this review so that I could better explain how things work.

A vacation from a vacation
I had been at another nearby VRBO and, unfortunately, had been ill so I found this listing and it sounded perfect to have another week's vacation from my vacation. The tiny cottage is perfect for 1 or 2 people with all you need and if you do need something the host is quick to respond and accommodate. I cannot express enough praise for the host or the cabin. Her pride and passion for sharing her cabin and peaceful, natural environment was obvious. She took time to listen and chat, when she had time (I was on my own). The cottage was immaculately clean. I was still not well so I didn't get to enjoy the trails or swim spa, but I totally enjoyed the peace and quiet on the deck. Listening to the birdsong and seeing the trees, wildflowers, birds and rabbits in the day and the immense number of fireflies at night immersed me back to nature. I'm so grateful to have stayed at this gem of a cottage and to have had the pleasure of dealing with a kind, compassionate and accommodating host. Thank you so much!

Peaceful Retreat
We spent a nice quiet week exploring the area, riding on the G2G trail and relaxing on the verandas. The cabin is well stocked and the hosts are nearby and respond quickly. We used the BBQ quite a bit. We took a Thermacell insect repellent with us and we’re not bothered by mosquitoes or flies outside. The swim spa was a nice treat as well. All in all, a great week!

Peaceful escape
My boyfriend and I wanted to find a peaceful getaway to celebrate his birthday. This property did not disappoint! Linda is very communicative and helpful. She made sure we had all we needed and let us know to text her if we had questions. At check in she said it could be contactless or she could come meet us to go over things. The cabin is cozy and private and has everything you need. We loved sitting on the porch and listening to the birds every morning. Linda is very thoughtful and the pride of ownership is obvious in the beautiful cabin. Being so close to Blyth and Bayfield, we enjoyed taking in some craft breweries as well as the Berry Farm. With a full kitchen in the cabin, we had brought food and made our breakfast so we could enjoy our mornings. Everything you could need was there and we felt very at ease the whole stay. The swim spa was a wonderful break in our day, we were able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and completely relax. We did not get to the trails this time but look forward to that during a future visit.
