Casa Bruna creekside home in the heart of the Gorge

Experience the best of the Columbia River Gorge from the moment you arrive at Casa Bruna’s Creekside retreat. With a rustic industrial twist and mid-century modern décor, Casa Bruna’s lovingly restored basement apartment offers plenty of sunshine and space to relax on the doorstep of the Gifford Pinchot, with easy access to wilderness and friendly small towns.

The space

Step off the highway and into Casa Bruna’s cozy charm, accented by the gentle burble of Carson Creek. With two bedrooms (each with its own mini-split), a full bathroom with tub and shower, comfortable living space, spacious shared back garden, and a fully equipped kitchen, Casa Bruna has everything you need to explore the gorge on your terms.

Both bedrooms are the perfect place to hide away with a good book or sneak in a mid-day nap following your morning hike. Sleep in—or enjoy reading in bed— both bedrooms feature queen-sized Nectar Premier Copper mattresses. Stash unneeded gear or luggage outside or in Bedroom’s Two’s spacious closet. Out the window are the soothing sounds of Carson Creek and hustle of a classic gorge logging town.

Muddy or sore? Hit the tub and soak, or rinse off under the rain showerhead with the provided shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. Radiant heat prevents cold feet, even during gorge winters. Towels, toilet paper, hair dryer, and hand soap—plus ironing board, and iron provided.

Cook dinner while admiring the back garden or check out the local fare (Backwoods Brewery is just around the corner), and then settle in outside on the patio to watch the stars. Not into nature? Enter your logins for movie night on the 50” flatscreen TV and speaker system. Streaming your favorite shows or working remotely is easy with ultra-fast internet (around 1000 mps), a full dining table, and cozy couches.

Leave time for coffee or a smoothie (we provide the blender) before heading out to take advantage of the area’s many activities, including one of our favorite local secrets! The fully-equipped kitchen has everything you need to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner, from pots and pans to kid-friendly cutlery and dishes.

If you need to do a quick wash, the detached laundry room comes equipped with detergent, fabric softener and a place to fold away from the chaos of the rest of the family and friends.

Guest access

Pull in and park in the lot adjacent to the house or leave the car in our parking zone on the main street. Let yourself in with keyless entry.


Other things to note

Casa Bruna is the basement apartment of a duplex, located just below our other rental property, Casa Maria. It is bright and cozy, with 7’0 ceilings and farmhouse beams for a unique charm. Casa Maria has a private back deck but does share the outdoor amenities with Casa Bruna.

Carson is a small logging town in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, with a rural/suburban charm. Wind River Highway is a popular and often busy stretch of road, and Casa Maria is within walking distance of local establishments, including Bungalow Bar and Grill.

Furry friends are welcome at Casa Maria! Please note, pets are not allowed on beds or couches.
$45 additional pet fee.

** Please note that Casa Bruna is located on the side of Wind River Road, and you will hear local traffic and logging trucks driving by.
