We recently stayed here and overall had a pleasant visit,with a few areas that could benefit from some attention.On the positive side,the property is in a great location,especially being so close to Caerphilly Castle.The WiFi was reliable throughout our stay,and the heating worked very well,which made it nice and cosy.The space itself is cute and you can see there has been effort put into making it feel welcoming and comfortable.There are just a few maintenance and housekeeping points worth noting.The backyard was a little untidy on arrival,with trash bags by the doorstep. Inside,there was a dusty smell, some cobwebs, and a bit of mould in places.The kitchen could also be a bit better equipped—we found a few basic utensils missing and ended up purchasing teaspoons and a spatula.The coffee machine wasn’t working during our stay, and the air fryer wasn’t positioned near a plug, which made it slightly inconvenient to use.There were also only a small number of dishwashing pods provided for the length of our stay.A couple of minor maintenance issues as well: the back door didn’t lock properly from the outside, the slats on the bed base in the second room were loose, and some skirting boards were damaged. The bathroom was based downstairs and lovely,although the shower glass felt slightly loose.
Overall, this is a charming place with great potential and some lovely features—it would just benefit from a bit of extra care and attention to detail.
