Nice late-summer getaway to Mid-Coast Maine
This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at this property. Location is great! The place is quite small, but for our needs, it was just right. We were so busy touring Camden, Rockland, and Rockport that we didn't spend much time at the house. My morning swims in the pond were a refreshing way to start each day! Brenda, the owner, is great. Very attentive, as needed.

Almost Perfect
Cons: We were informed that the water heater was what would fit in the smaller home and traveling in a RV alot we are use to a 6gal water heater but the one there did not supply close to as much hot water. We were able to rinse off in the shower quickly but I washed my hair in the sink. This may be a big deterrent to some but it wouldn't stop us because the pros outweigh the cons. The Pros: location is great being close to lots of great activities (I highly recommend both lighthouses

Great spot!!!
The property look just like the pictures i veiwed on the sight.i needed a place to stay for my daughter's wedding and it was perfect! family came during the days to gather the lake was wonderful jim made sure we had plenty of wood for the fire pit and gas in the grill.the place was spotless on arrival and anytime i had a ? The owners were right next door and came over to show me how to operate the air conditioner &t.v. we definitely would come back again the next time im visiting my family.

Lovely lakefront Cottage
My husband and I had a wonderful time at our stay on Chickawaukee Pond. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. After enjoying the sights around Rockland, we returned each day to enjoy the sunset on the lakefront swing. We felt safe & comfortable. The location is a short drive from downtown. We would recommend this cottage for a couple or singles anytime!

Loved our stay!
We really loved this little cottage. Serene setting, on the water. So lovely in the morning and at night. Absolutely gorgeous view. When we go again (and we do plan it!) we will go when it is a bit warmer (we stayed in mid -September) and it was a bit too cold to really enjoy the lovely backyard. We did get a few good weather days and were able to enjoy the hammock and the firepit. The hostess, Brenda was so responsive to any questions we had. The cottage was well equipped and very conveniently located, close to Camden and Rockland. There is so much to see and do, and all very close by. We would like to return and see the Puffins! One thing to be aware of is that it is on a well, which means that you will have great drinking water right from the tap, but this also means that you will need to space your showers as the hot water can run out. Lovely place and great hosts! We hope to return!

Charming Pond-side Cottage with Much Privacy
We enjoyed every minute and everything about our stay in this charming cottage. It was quiet and peaceful in a private setting, yet close enough to Rockland and Rockport to bike there and back. The view of the pond from the outside patio was beautiful, especially when sitting in the outdoor porch swing.

Two weeks in Rockport

Perfect spot for 2 looking for a quiet getaway! Close proximity to all the area has to offer. Brenda & Jim are super nice and right next door for anything you might need. Frontage on the pond is beautiful (very shallow), need to wade out to swim. No big deal. We loved our visit to the area and look forward to returning!

Great Three Day getaway in Rockport, ME
Quaint cottage right on a pond. Small but all that is needed for a short getaway. Plenty of outside amenities including grill, deck, double swing on tree, lawn chairs in sun by pond, fire pit, second table by pond. Close to Camden and Rockport for biking, golf and dining activities.

Cottage with stellar water location
Highly recommended! This is a perfect location to enjoy the mid-coast towns, lighthouses, hiking trails, shoreline, museums, and many restaurants. The cottage was clean, well appointed, and has a comfortable bed. The front and backyard are nicely landscaped, and the property goes to the pond (large like a lake). You may dine outside on the deck or use the table by the water. Brenda, the host, was helpful and friendly.

Great September Getaway
My husband and I enjoyed our vacation at this beautiful cottage. Lots to see and do in the Rockport area, or just hang out and enjoy the relaxing property. Located right on the lake, with outside furniture to play cards or just sit and enjoy nature. We had a very relaxing, enjoyable time.

I cannot say enough nice things about the property or the owners. The property was exactly as advertised. The house was adorable. The outside space phenomenal. The view could not be beat. The location was great too. Close to Camden, Rockport, Rockland, Tennant’s Harbor, etc. I also cannot express how responsive the owners were. Just amazing. We will back next year!

The back area deck and the closeness to the pond are great. Grill really came in handy. The Bedroom was musty, paneling was all buckled and very small. Bathroom was extremely small we had to actually house our toiletries on the kitchen table. Be prepared there is about a 6gallon water heater that is located under the kitchen sink. No place to put your suitcase, had to put one of the suitcases on the recliner. The towels/washcloths had bleach stains and what looked like tar on them. Again the outside was great, location was spot-on. The owners live next door, on one of the evenings they had company, weren't all that loud however we knew they had company. so we called it a night and went in,.

Great location, but lack of effort to keep place up
Brenda was very attentive pre-trip, and the location is great. But there was hardly enough water for 1x 5-min warm shower, never mind 2 back to back. The A/C unit decided to work sometimes, and sometimes decided not too. And the screen on the door was so shot, bugs kept finding their way in if we left the door open and screen shut (which was not just an inconvenience, but a problem since the A/C was shotty). Cheaply furnished accomocadations on the surface isn't SO bad so long as you are paying for the property on the outside. The property was beautiful and perfectly located for sure. But the star of the outdoor space is the lake of course, and this too was poorly kept up. Just in our little area, I found a piece of broken glass, stepped on a sharp piece of fake flooring, cutting my foot, and found a massive 4ft x 6ft section of rusted chain link fence, no more than 5 yards to the right of the paddle boat (right where the kids and adults play in the water!). This fence had clearly been here for years, as it was so rusted that it was breaking every time I tried to clean it up. If our daughter had stepped on any of this, we would have been in big trouble. I left this exact review, in private, for Brenda, but her response was just that we should have let them know and they would have done something about it. Except for the A/C unit, these are all things that should have been taken care of before somebody pays to stay at your place, not having to deal with the trouble while on their short vacation. I'd rate 3-stars but the response from Brenda on my concerns was so canned and un-emotional, that I can only rate 2 stars. Great location, kind people, but a large lack of effort in upkeep on both the accommodations and the property which leads to a less than pleasant stay.

Perfect getaway
I rented this cottage for the week with my 1 yr old son. We had a blast! It was his first lake experience and the sandy beach which is shallow for a long way was perfect to wade and play in. The lawn is beautifully landscaped and with a fire pit, dining area, hammock, and deck you can’t ask for better outdoor options. The cottage itself is bright, sunny, and spotless. It is small so if you are looking for space for more than a couple or a couple plus a kid or two you might be disappointed. But for my son and I it was just right. Highly recommend.

Very cozy little lake cottage!
We spent a wonderful week at this cozy little cottage. It is centrally located to Rockport, Rockland, and Camden. The cottage is right on the lake and we spent quite a lot of time on their hanging bench swing and hammock relaxing. It has a great deck with a table and chairs. This cottage has everything that you would need for a delightful week. The owners were exceptionally responsive to any questions that we had. We definitely recommend this cottage if you are a couple who wants to get away and relax!

Great location, Great stay
Everything everyone has said about the owners is true. The property is extremely well cared for. Brenda answered a question about the rental in less than half an hour. Jim greeted us when we arrived and made sure we were happy with everything and made sure to tell me he had plenty more firewood if i run out. The only little drawback , and most people won't even care is the state road across the lake can be heard. Nothing the owners can do about that! I would stay there again as the cottage had anything you need and more.

Beautiful landscaping
My boyfriend and I were so happy with our stay! While the indoor space may be a little tight for us (we don’t travel light), we were more than happy to spend most of our time enjoying the beautiful backyard space and cooking and eating out on the deck. It was a little chilly for swimming but the pond served as a great fishing spot and scenic backdrop to our week. We hope to make another visit in the future!

Our stay here was wonderful! It was peaceful and quiet. The cottage was very clean. Brenda and Jim were very helpful with any questions we had. They had fire wood waiting for us. There’s a sports outfitter (owners recommendation) just down the road to rent kayaks from so you can explore the entire pond. The pond did not have a lot of “traffic” on it. Some things: The coffee maker is a keurig (if you’re planning on making your own coffee while there). Also, we did notice is that there was a very small hot water reserve, quick showers are a must.

Stayed 3 nights at this wonderful property..it wasn't long enough! The location is great..you have beachfront on the lake, a great yard and deck. Our dog loved swimming in the lake. A peaceful retreat!
My boyfriend and I stayed in this cottage for an incredible 4 nights! My cousin and his girlfriend joined us for two of those nights as well. The owners are SO friendly and responded to our questions within minutes. The lake was beautiful and much warmer than we expected for Maine! We enjoyed hanging out in the water on our floats and also sitting in the hammock by the fire while the sun went down. This was such an ideal stay, we really couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. You’ll LOVE this place too, don’t miss out!!

Cottage on Chickawaukie Lake
Beautiful lakefront cottage located in a nice secluded area of town. Very clean and well kept cottage with a beautifully landscaped lot. Shopping and stunning scenic views just minutes away. We will definitely be back next year!!
