Woodward Lake Sanctuary - Perfect Getaway Minutes From Town

Woodward Lake Sanctuary offers a peaceful, tranquil setting abundant in water fowl (geese, ducks, heron, loons, cranes) perfect for kayaking, breathtaking sunrise/sunset, yet minutes away from downtown Cadillac, Lake Cadillac and Lake Mitchell, biking, hiking, snowmobile trails, ski resorts, golf courses, restaurants, and winery. A 40-minute drive to Traverse City offers Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, annual Cherry Festival, restaurants, and local theatre entertainment.

This home away from home offers the comforts and amenities in a cozy, warm eco-friendly setting for relaxation, decompression, and an opportunity to enjoy quality time with family and friends. A selection of coffee, tea, spices, and essential cookware for meal preparation is available, Wi-Fi and Smart TV for indoor entertainment, and two kayaks, a 12’ aluminum rowboat, propane and charcoal grills, and fire pit for outdoor entertainment.

As this is an eco-friendly environment, removal of footwear is encouraged (indoor shoes or slippers an alternative option) in order to protect indoor setting from outdoor toxins such as bacteria. This is also a pet-free environment for the protection of those with allergies.

Such a great place to stay amazing view we are on a high school fishing tournament so we are up early and back late. It would be a great place for a family to go and spend a weekend on the lake. Wish we would’ve had more downtime to enjoy it but all in all it was a perfect place to stay very close to town but yet nice and quiet thanks again.

Lake cottage retreat

Dear Ruth, This cottage is so cute and cosy and feels like we came home! You have made this cottage so comfortable and thiught of everything! The lake is amazing and we were able to enjoy morning sunrises, swans, sand cranes and geese. Our family came over and we enjoyed the kayaks and rowboat and fishing on the lake. The firepit was set up and and ready to go and we had smores after a great day on the lake. Thanks afain for a great stay. We have shared with our friends and family what a wonderful cottage this was and looking forward to coming back! very nice stay. clean-nice touches with chocolates on towels. everything we needed was there, near towns, but quite at the lake. needed to fix one recliner that didnt work, but not a big deal. great for our girls birthday trip.

A nice getaway

The home was very nice and well stocked. I had trouble with the lock box and no one returned my call. Obviously I figured it out. Extra towel/washcloth location should be included in the email including the other pertinent info; we didn't see the tiny sign until late the second day and went and bought washcloths because one for 3 days wouldn't do it. We had a nice relaxing time, thank you!

Woodward Lake sanctuary

We enjoyed our stay at Ruth’s place! There were very thoughtful, unexpected touches such as chocolates on our pillows, fresh flowers on the table when we arrived, and a stack of wood already prepared and ready to light in the firepit! The lake is calm and serene, and overall location is a nice launching point to adventures throughout northwest Michigan. The cottage itself is as described; nothing fancy, but affordable, clean and adequate space for our family of five. Thank you Ruth!
