„Classy Hotel in an 18th Century Georgian architectural landmark which was saved by the Hotel Company. Went there first on a rushed business trip and went back half a year later to enjoy it finally with my partner. The pool is warm and not exactly for a sporty swimmer, but is nice with the opportunity to swim outdoors. Beds and Breakfast are excellent and up to the price. After finding the south of England more and more crowded, the Peak District is an area I was happy to discover.“

„The perfect location for a stay in the Peak District, with arguably the best view from a pub garden anywhere in the UK? Perfect for a family of four, with all rooms well furnished and a generous kitchen and lounge set up. Great for self-catering, but the food in the pub downstairs was good stuff. Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth House are all inside a 20-minute drive, and you can simply pop hiking boots on and start over the back fence of the beer garden for a good walk. „An excellent property, very homely, cosy and welcoming. Would definitely return. Found laundry basket, spare mattress covers and oven gloves in main bedroom. Not a great problem at all, but think these items were inadvertently left at the changeover clean. But this is not an important criticism - the property was wonderful.“

„Superb accommodation. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Great shower. Perfect location10 minutes stroll to town and 30 mins walk to the brewery. Best thing about this place though is the staff - amazing - really friendly, helpful and kind. Great pub serving Jaipur, which is my favourite beer. Didn't take the opportunity to enjoy the live music as we were there for rest but we would take it up next time we stay. Btw don't be put off by late night music. The rooms are very very quiet.
