Best little treasure in Kansas

Mysterious Fluids and Creepy Crawlies
We were really excited to stay after seeing the pictures and the host made check in and check out really simple. The view of the lake was beautiful and being away from city lights with stars visible was a blessing. The problem is the place was filthy, spider webs, spiders, mystery hairs all over furniture and bedding also had white sticky substance on it as well as spiders that came crawling out of it when we went to grab it. Loft areas had what looked like blood and other substances right near the bed and stains on the pillows after we took the pillow cases off when we left. Also, we were unable to lock the back door at night and the sofa bed was rigged with a rope making it unable to pull out. We were not expecting the Ritz or anything but cleanliness was beyond sub par. My kids were begging me to let them sleep in the car instead.

Peaceful Lake Stay

Great weekend escape
Had a perfect bachelor party on the lake. Very private, very comfortable, easily slept 6 of us in beds and on couches. There was lots of dry wood for the campfire too and no mosquitoes!

Superior Getaway
My wife and I and our two dogs spent several days at the cabin. It was quiet, beautiful, and the porch was like the Discovery Channel. There is lots of wildlife to enjoy, room to play, and walks to go on. We made lots of delicious meals in the kitchen but I would plan them out ahead and bring groceries. The store is a bit of a trek. If you need to be refreshed and renewed, if your relationship needs reconnecting, this is the spot for it.

Absolutely Perfect!!
This was our second time renting this property. It gives so much privacy and room for the whole family. We are dog lovers, so this provided the perfect setting for the 6 dogs our family has. So much space and very private setting inside and out. It was a bit windy and cool on our weekend, but we still had so much fun. Fishing, boating and relaxing is just what we needed. We celebrated 2 Birthday's with much fun!! The hosts are very quick to respond and very accomodating to your needs. Couldn't ask for a better place with all the ameneties. We saw a couple of Eagles which was an absolute bonus, plus you can't beat the sunsets!! Thank You once again Shane and Morgan for your hospitality!! We will be back again.

Rest and Relaxtion
Stayed for an extended weekend with my wife and pup. Weather was a little rough with wind and rain. Didn’t get to fish as much as I was hoping, but caught up on some much needed rest. Very peaceful. Property manager was easy to reach and very responsive. Incredible views of sunsets over the lake. Great place to get away and. recharge.

Friends Bachelor Party
I booked this place to throw my friend a bachelor party. He wanted it to just be a good time with our good friends and that’s exactly what we got. We fished, we shot guns, we barbecued, anything men could have needed to have a good time was available to us. Very satisfied.

Great spot for family fun
Our family of 6 (4 teens) and 2 dogs enjoyed our stay at your cabin. Four days was the perfect amount of time to unwind, relax, and explore a couple of nearby towns. Thanks for the use of the yellow water mat, and fishing gear. Sunsets are spectacular here. The cabin is cozy and had everything we needed. Thanks for a great stay..

Good if all you want to do is sit and relax
I was unable to stay due to COVID but my sister and her husband did stay at the property. The boat was not available until later in the evening. It had been sitting full of water and being hollow, it was filled with water that my sister and husband had to drain out. While doing so, they discovered it was missing one of the two plugs. Suffice to say there was no boating. Suggest that renters bring their own small boat. The shower curtain was a trip hazard, it was not only much too long for the shower and was in tatters; you had to be very careful in the shower. There was a lot of long white dog hair on one couch and smelled a like dirty dog. That cleared up after the second day. Throw rugs had some large stains. Television needed a hot spot to work; couldn't get it to take the password for Verizon. There is a nice wooden dock for fishing. The dam did provide a walking trail. The view and sunsets were pretty.

Exactly what I needed.
This is a great cabin I stayed in for the 2022 Unbound Gravel race in Emporia. The cabin is about 20 minutes outside of town, and it was exactly what my family and I needed for the weekend. I can’t recommend it enough. Secluded and beautiful. Those sunsets!

Great quiet private getaway
This is a great old rustic cabin with everything you need. It is right on a beautiful lake with the most stunning sunsets. Great for a short family getaway. The cabin has kitchen ware, towels and linens, cleaning supplies. It is not the most up to date with the newest furniture and accessories but it is a rustic cabin and everything worked great. We are hoping to visit again. Enjoyed it immensely.

Beautiful setting, but...
I was so very excited about this getaway. We were able to check in early, which was appreciated. However, I didn't go back too deep into reviews and saw others comment on how dirty the place was. Dead gnats all over, a fly problem. The stove/oven were filthy. Dog hair on furniture. The bed had random foreign hairs in it, and when we stripped the bed as directed, we saw there was blood stains on the pillow. As an older couple ,we do enjoy some news in the evening and although listing says TV, that's all there was with no available stations, nada. The hosts were there when I called, no problem there, but we left a day early because of how gross it was.

PERFECT AND SECLUDED
I can't begin to say how wonderful this place is! Tons of outdoor space! Owner is very responsive and accommodating. The inside of the home is spacious! It was almost 100 degrees when we stayed but the house stayed cool. Our dogs LOVED their "Dogcation". Plenty of outdoor seating, water hose, life jackets and so much more provided by owner. Beautiful Sunrise and Sunsets! And the Stars at night were AMAZING! Bring all the food and drinks you need because there isn't a grocery store there. All else is provided. Perfect location
The location was better than we could have expected - the photos do not do the surroundings justice. We used the fire pit every night (and appreciated the provided wood pile from the owners!), swam a bit and enjoyed the dock, took walks around the lake, and were overjoyed by the isolation and quiet. The house is big and comfy with plenty of furniture, the kitchen well-stocked with cutlery, cookware, cups, and plates, and the check-in / check-out process could not be simpler. Would absolutely stay again!

Amazing Family Vacation
This location easily accommodated all 17 of us who came to enjoy the lake for our family vacation. 7 of us camped in tents and the rest slept peacefully in the cabin. One thing to note is that there is only one pull out bed (it advertises 2) but that didn’t stop us any. We had a great time and definitely plan on coming again.
