Bodega Bay 2SZ Bungalow mit Blick auf die Bucht & privater Sauna — Hunde willkommen

Summary:

Eucalyptus and salt air fill the deck overlooking Bodega Harbor — surf breaks and dog-friendly beaches about a mile up or down Highway 1. This surf-inspired bungalow sleeps 4 plus your dogs, with a private sauna for post-beach relaxation. Walk to Huria's Pizza in one minute or Spud Point Crab Company in 10. The harbor seals call from the rocks below — you're home on the Sonoma Coast.

The Space:

Wetsuits on the wall, a bodyboard for decor, and a brand-new wooden sauna in the garden — this single-level bungalow in Bodega Bay's fishing village takes its surf heritage seriously. Two queen bedrooms sleep 4, dogs welcome (two max), with an outdoor shower for sandy returns.

An open-plan living room opens off a wood-burning stove on slate tile, the sectional and a woven accent chair set on natural-fiber rugs. Shaker cabinets and a gas range line the kitchen straight off it, with a four-seat island under windows that face the harbor and a farmhouse sink finishing the workspace. The whole front of the home is engineered for the surf-rinse-eat-nap rhythm of a Bodega Bay weekend.

OUTDOOR LIVING

The enclosed garden is your private coastal oasis. A wooden sauna with glass doors awaits among mature succulents and ornamental grasses — step in and let the warmth melt the fog from your bones. The gas grill stands ready for cooking your fresh catch from Spud Point. A brick paver patio offers seating with a modern woven chair and red circular metal table, and an outdoor shower lets you rinse off sand and salt after beach adventures.

THE VILLAGE AT YOUR DOOR

Huria's woodfired pizza is a one-minute walk, Gourmet Au Bay serves wine flights on wooden surfboards at 0.1 miles, and Ginochio's ladles award-winning chowder the same block over. Spud Point's crab sandwiches are 0.6 miles up the harbor, and Doran Regional Park's protected beach curves out 1.3 miles south.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

The primary bedroom pays homage to the home's surf heritage, with wetsuits displayed on the wall and a green bodyboard as decor alongside a queen bed with white bedding and red accent pillows. A rustic wood bench with hairpin legs completes the vibe. The second bedroom offers another queen bed with crisp white linens for a second couple or family. The bungalow sleeps 4 guests.

Getting Around:

Bodega Bay is about 90 minutes from San Francisco — a beautiful drive up 101 and out Highway 1 through farmland and coastal ranches. Your rental includes two parking spaces accessed via the alley off Kent Street. A car makes exploring the Sonoma Coast effortless — it unfolds for miles in either direction. Cell service is light along the coast, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is a good idea.

Other Things to Note:

• The home stays naturally cool thanks to coastal breezes and the shaded garden — you'll find the temperature perfect for sleeping even on warmer days.

• The wooden sauna in the garden is brand new (added August 2025) and offers a luxurious way to warm up after cold beach walks or surf sessions.

• The outdoor shower is perfect for rinsing off sand and salt.

• Your dogs will love the enclosed yard.

• Public beach access is about a mile in either direction on Highway 1 — Doran Beach to the south, the Salmon Creek beaches to the north (the shoreline across the street fronts private residences, so there's no public path there).

• Keep dogs leashed on beaches as harbor seals rest on the sand.

• The primary renter must be 21 or older.

• Local tip: The fog typically burns off by afternoon in summer, so don't let a gray morning discourage your beach plans.

• Layers are essential year-round — even August rarely sees temperatures above 70°F.

• For the best whale watching from shore, head to Bodega Head's trails between January and April when volunteers help spot migrating gray whales.
