My family and I just got home from our vacation and our stay at Down by the River Cabin, and it was amazing! The view was perfect, little bit of everything. Very clean, cabin was as described. Beds were all comfortable. We did not utilize the small 2nd bedroom in the loft..just the master, and the 2 downstairs. One suggestion would be a fire-resistant mat for the fire pit. The fire pit sits on the side of the house in not a really large area close to the house and trees. We would have liked to of moved it to the front of the house but were skeptical if the fire would damage the asphalt driveway (which by the way we were very thankful for!). We opted to not use it and sit on the amazing porch, with the most incredible Adirondack gliders. The one disappointment for us was the river access. Although it is a path, it is an extremely steep and unsteady one. Down was a bit iffy, going back up was bad. If you are traveling with children, older adults, or just your average in shape person, and are looking for river access, this is not the one. It is very steep. With that being said, it was not a game changer for us. There are [plenty of locations that you can drive to that you can get river access to for fishing). Although a bit disappointed, it didn't change our experience with the cabin. It was perfect!
