„Die Loge ist wunderschön in Natur gelegen und hat sogar ein eigenes Wanderpfad. Da wir Mietwagen hatten, war für uns die Lage kein Problem. Wir hatten ein Apartment mit 2 Schlafzimmer gemietet, alles war sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet, obwohl schon bisschen in die Jahre gekommen. Das Frühstück wurde durch einheimischen Paar vorbereitet, super lecker und für fairen Preis. Das Personal auch sehr nett und hilfsbereit, wir können die Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen.“

„Black rock lodge is the perfect hideaway and a real gem, the location is perfect - right in the jungle, you can hear the howler monkeys roar in the morning and next to the river where you can take an afternoon swim. You can also spot various birds on your own but also on a bird watching tour at sunrise. The activities and tour guides were great, definitely go for ATM and a night hike. „This beautifully designed lodge, on 4000 acres, is a unique experience. 107 free range horses, parrots, monkeys add to the ambience. Large , comfortable a/c rooms, friendly staff, good restaurant ,and lovely pool, make for a memorable stay. Convenient to many sites. Owner’s wife is an excellent artist and has a gallery there. We loved it!“

„Das Hotel ist absolut spitze - leider (für uns) an der falschen Lage. Die 75minütige Fahrt dahin war durch den Schlamm nur mit einem 4x4 zu bewältigen. Man meint lange, im falschen Film am falschen Ort zu sein und würde in dieser Wildnis nie ein so tolles Hotel vermuten. War ein total gemütliches Hotel unter deutsch/afrikanischer Leitung, Spitzen-Küche, ruhige Lage, schöner Garten. Kann nur mit Superlativen um mich schmeissen. Aber, man muss sich wirklich der Lage gewusst sein. “

„Excellent stay here. The seclusion in the forest is a major plus. Best mixed drinks I had during my whole stay in Belize, including on Ambergris Caye. Food was excellent and home cooked. When looking back on this trip, I'll remember our great time here. Was very relaxing and felt authentic. Pool was smaller but nice. Staff is small, and very courteous and attentive. „Joe & Miriam (sp?) were very friendly and engaging hosts. We went to the Caracol Mayan site and also did a boat/swimming/waterfall tour. Joe is very knowledgeable about Mayan ruins. He is most enthusiastic about showing you his native country. Miriam is a great cook. We thoroughly enjoyed our jungle experience.“

Family run and in a fairly remote location so we saw enormous, 5 ft. orange iguanas along the river (take binoculars to see them better) and heard the howlers in the area. „WE loved the quiet place!WE loved it also because it's not the Resort/Tourist area but the traditional area,a bit far from the city to enjoy a quiet place but close enough to go to the city center to eat and enjoy a drums concert!Nice Hosts who advised us a nice trip renting their little boat or renting kayak to go to the laguna which is very close.we loved also the Kismet Inn because of the host'paintings,chairs and hamacks to relax!Great to relax!
