Friendly staff, lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful getting us into our room earlier. We had an issue with the shower, water kept going from hot to cold back and forth every minute. They responded to the issue and tried to fix it right away. It got better but still did the same, it was fine, we weren’t too picky about it. The doors were loud but that’s to be expected when they are big heavy doors. There were kids running up and down the hallways being loud, we can’t control that. The only big issue I would complain about is that someone tried opening our door in the middle of the night. Luckily I keep an extra door lock. Still it was not okay and scary, As well as room service coming into our room in the early morning when we were still sleeping. Other than that we had a good stay. There isn’t very many options for breakfast but food is still food.

Hi Morgan, I am very glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Hotel staff do not arrive at the hotel until around 9am so an employee would be accessing your room early in the morning. I am going to investigate and audit the lock history during your stay with us. You are so right, and I wish everyone was as understanding that there is not much we can do about kids being loud; that’s a parenting issue, with that being said.... If reported we will investigate, if found the room(s) will get 1 warning, should it happen again at any point they will be removed from the hotel. We want very much to ensure that all our guests have a great stay with us. We are currently waiting for the county to approve our plans for our new kitchen, once complete we will be able to provide a menu with more choices. We appreciate your comments, we thank you for the 5/5 rating and espically look forward to seeing you again.

Hi Barbara, The “Pot” odor is a problem for all business and public spaces, with it now being legal the government has tied our hands even more. Please understand that just because you smell it does not mean it is being smoked in the hotel, we are very aggressive about our smoking policy. Marijuana is not permitted to be smoked on hotel property, if a guest is found they will be removed from the property without warning, an uncooperative guest will be removed with police assistance. This skunk smell is like a bad perfume or cologne, it lingers for quite some time. When notified we do have a special enzyme spray, that will help dissipate the odor quickly. We certainly apologize; we are doing our best we can to fight this odor and act within legal limits. Be assured everyone here is with you on this and we are sorry that another guest disrupted your stay.

Perhaps in the future you would leave a comment for us.I would like to provide you with some insight on how review scores in all categories are read by Best Western and this hotel. The easiest way to define the scoring process is to use the analogy of a traffic light. A score of 4 or 5 is considered GREEN, 3 is YELLOW (a warning) and 2 and below is RED (a failure). Hi Kory, I am a bit confused here, as we do not show you staying at our hotel, we do see a reservation for June that has been canceled. I am not sure why you would do a review on a hotel where you did not stay and everyone here works very hard to provide our guests an great stay. Its a shame..... If we did something wrong we are strong enough to own it and make it right!

Hi Pascale, I do apologize that you did not enjoy your stay with us, it is not something we like to hear. We are sorry that you did not find options to your liking at breakfast. We use only quality branded items purchased from safe and reputable suppliers, to say our breakfast food is sub-standard is simply not true. Communication is key to a great stay, should a guest come across a disruptive guest, one needs to report it to the front desk. While the hotel or its employees cannot control others, nor can we control what goes on in the room, we will investigate and make a single attempt to quite things down, should it persist, we will call Laurel Police and have the guests removed from the hotel. Over the years we have found unfortunately that some in today’s society appears to have a lack of courtesy and respect for others by being considerate; from parents letting children run around unsupervised in the corridors screaming to adults basically doing the same and slamming doors. We apologize and fully understand the frustration we feel that same frustration!

I had a good experience in this hotel. It was clean, room was big, clean and has a good shower, coffee, fridge and microwave. Good internet and tv services. Some difficulties: the shower water went from hot to cold randomly. It was difficult to take a shower not worry to get burn suddenly or frozen. Also, it was noisy, we can hear the other room tv, people walking around. The doors close very heavy and it was like a huge bang in the middle of the night. The breakfast was good, and the lady serving wafers was very nice.

We currently have our maintenance engineer looking into the hot/cold water issue you brought up. Yes, our doors are very heavy; they are a highly rated fire door for your safety, but doors do not bang themselves, and I am sorry that other guests caused that disturbance. Hi Nashea, I see that you stayed with us for 4 nights and we do appreciate your business, however I do not see that you reported any issue during your stay. Communication is key to everyone having a great stay, by being silent you only deny yourself that stay and us the ability to assist you. This hotel has very clean room. Unfortunately guests near my room was too noisy and fighting in the middle of the night. I can’t sleep until 1:30 am but I’m glad police finally removed them. Breakfast just ok, they write Sunday menu is turkey sausage but they served pork patties every day. It would be nice if they have another options for people who don’t eat pork. TV on my room wasn’t working, I told receptionist but they didn’t fix it.

Hi Novita, WE are glad you found the room clean and we do offer both pork and turkey sausage, we may have been temporally out, just ask the attendant. The hotel did get a complaint about a guest dispute and we took immediate action and the guest was removed by the Laurel Police Department. We do apologize for their poor behavior.

The place felt dirty, had to ask for clean sheets and towels, never mind all the hair everywhere. If they truly clean they wouldn’t have hair behind after people leave. The refrigerator made a horrible noise all night long. Near the front entrance there was dog poop left behind for the 2 days I was there.

Hi Amet,I am very sorry to hear that you had a negative experience during your stay with us. We are very disturbed and surprised about your comments. As you read our reviews here on Expedia and other sites we are continually praised for our clean rooms and customer service. Floyd, one of our front desk agents spoke to you just yesterday (4-3-24) and you made no mention of these issues until now. When you choose not to communicate you only deny yourself a great stay and the hotels the ability to assist you. Your scores are not just a score, our hotel truly cares about your experience. The housekeeping manager is looking into the cleaning of the room and reviewing photographs taken during the inspection prior to your arrival, we also found that there was NO “dog poop” in the location you state or by any other entrance. What we did find was a brown blotches of adhesive that was used in the renovation of the hotel entrance, we can see how if you look at it quickly one might assume what you did. We appreciate your comments although we may disagree with them, they do keep us on our toes. We only wished that you would have communicated with us during your stay and not afterwards so we could have provided you with the stay you expect from the Best Western Laurel.
