Northwoods Tiny Cabin Wald Near Itasca State Park

Welcome to Wald, a Northwoods Tiny Cabin. The other Tiny Cabin is Nord. Nord comes from the concept of true north. Wald means woods in German. Our hope is that this Tiny Cabin will help you slow down and realign with what is important in life. Nord = North; Wald = Woods. Hence, Northwoods.

The Tiny Cabin has:

- One queen bed and sleeps 2 adults

- Electricity, heat, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a small fridge

- Indoor wood burning stove for use in the colder months

Sit on the front deck overlooking the woods, roast marshmallows over the campfire, and spend as much time as you can in nature getting refreshed. If you are coming to Northwoods to ‘work from home’, we will have Wi-Fi but highly encourage you to take as many breaks as you can.

When you arrive to stay atWald you will park at the Bathhouse and walk to the Tiny Cabin. Wald is 300 feet from the parking area and Bathhouse. A golf cart is available to rent for $20/stay. The Tiny Cabin does not have running water so the Bathhouse is the place where you can brush, wash, and flush. You will have your own private bathroom with a walk-in tiled shower in the Bathhouse. You can drop off your toiletries when you arrive and leave them there for your stay.

During your stay atWald, you will have access to ‘The Local’ located in the Bathhouse. The Local is shared with both Tiny Cabins (Nord + Wald) and will have a stove, sink, dishwasher, and dining table to share a meal or play a board game. Grab a recipe or two and buy groceries on your way to Northwoods. We have a recipe box and would love to have you add your favorite recipes (cards provided)!Northwoods is a place where you can spend time with your people, enjoy activities, and celebrate old and new traditions. Bake pizza on the second night of vacation, trying a new board game together, or taking a hike and learning about different types of trees. The star gazing is also incredible!

Itasca State Park and the Mississippi Headwaters are ten minutes away. While we do not have a lake on our property, there is ample opportunity to bring your fishing pole and drop a line close by. You are welcome to bring a kayak or canoe and there is a place in Itasca State Park to rent them as well.

Wald is dog friendly! The pet fee is $50 nonrefundable pet fee per dog (maximum of 2 dogs). Please communicate at booking if you plan to bring a pet. We ask that dogs do not go on the bed or floor cushion out of respect to those with allergies. Your dog must be crated if left alone in the cabin. Bring their dog bed and kennel (must be kenneled if left alone in the cabin). The dog must be on a 6ft leash at all times while on the property. Please also bring a towel to wipe their paws before entering the Tiny Cabin. You will be charged for any pet damages. We want to keep the Tiny Cabin pet friendly so please be mindful to only bring your dog if they are well behaved.

Northwoods is on 40 acres in northern Minnesota where wildlife is common. Small woodland creatures we see are porcupines, foxes, raccoons, etc. We also have seen deer, wolves, and bears on the property. When you book with us, we will send more information in our welcome letter.
