katastrophal
man wollte uns ein Zimmer, das extrem nach lösemittelhaltiger Farbe roch vermieten. Das inkompetente und unfreundliche Personal an der Rezeption wurde erst nach massivem Druck tätig. Das angebotene Ersatzzimmer roch nach Toilette, was wir ebenso ablehnten. Nach nochmaliger Beschwerde hat man uns nach langem hin und her ein einigermaßen akzeptables Zimmer angeboten. Insgesamt machte das Hotel einen heruntergekommenen Eindruck. Das Foyer roch nach unappetitlichen Essensgerüchen. Nach einer Nacht haben wir das Hotel storniert. Nie wieder...

Katastrophe
Außen hui innen Pfui. Lobby und Aufenthaltsräume stanken nach unangenehmen Essensgerüchen. Zimmer roch extrem nach lösemittelhaltiger Farbe. Nachdem ich das reklamiert hatte, wurde uns ein Zimmer mit ekelhaftem Toilettengeruch angeboten. Nachdem wir beide Zimmer abgelehnt hatten, hieß es von dem unfreundlichen Personal nur, dass sie ausgebucht seien und dass wir nur ein Standard Room gebucht hätten. Erst als ich laut wurde und dem unfreundlichen Rezeptionisten erklärt hatte, dass auch ein Standard Room sauber und ohne Luftverschmutzung zu sein hat und ich dies dreimal wiederholen musste, damit er es kapierte, gab man uns ein wenigstens für eine Nacht akzeptables Zimmer. Am nächsten Tag konnten wir glücklicherweise das Hotel komplett kostenfrei stornieren und sind geflüchtet. Nie wieder...

Staff friendly, bar meal was tasty, breakfast ok. Whole place needs a refurb. Area around the hotel is beautiful and lots to see within a few miles. Couldn't stay in the first room because of boiler and pipe noise. Moved me at around 11.30 pm. No hot water and radiators didn't work in that room. Apart from that is was ok.

This is our go-to hotel when want a few days away. It’s location is perfect for visits to Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Bath and many of the other beautiful area’s around this hotel. The staff are really lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The food was really good and has a varied menu to suit all tastes. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The Spa is welcoming and relaxing. The pool is warm and has set times for children and never gets overcrowded as there’s a booking system. The gym has all the equipment you would ever need. All in all a great place to stay.

The hotel had holes in the bedding actual tears and then the towel were like old rags with 2 holes as big as my head.... breakfast already overdone when we went at 7.30am also no one to greet us at breakfast waited then went to reception..... i did alert the hotel twice to issues they said head office would contact me but they havent....

We stayed overnight at this gorgeous Edwardian hotel to celebrate my wife's birthday. There are lovely features throughout, including the bedrooms. Dinner was lovely and unhurried and the staff very considerate. Breakfast the next day was good. The spa facilities looked good but treatments needed to be booked in advance. The age and style of the property means there are no lifts. This was something of a challenge with luggage etc but we did have help when checking in. Looking forward to returning in the summer.

This was one of the best value holidays I have ever been on. The breakfast was one of the nicest breakfast I have had and the sauna steam room and swimming pool and gym are all good. I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Barely passable
Start with the positives; all staff were lovely and the room and pool area were clean. Now to the negatives; uncomfortable worn mattress (needs a new one!), bright light outside window all night, curtains inadequate to keep out (install a blind), walls between rooms paper thin (could clearly hear phone conversations and lights being switched on) sauna and steam room were a walk through the gym and if you'd been in the pool that's a walk in your towel...

Staff where great again, at the pool main reception desk and restaurant. I stay a lot so a menu change would be great, the specials seem to last the week which does not help a block booking.

Not too good
The building is worn out in a lot of areas. The breakfast was cold and uninviting. The beds hard and uncomfortable. Fortunately we only stayed one night. The view from the building was good. There is a lot of history in the building. On the whole it could do with a really good clean and a revamp.

Check in with prompt and the man behind the desk was polite the distance to the room was quite far and up a steep Hill with my bags to get to the room but overall the room was a good size and the shower was hot

Location was a little crazy from Avonmouth once off the M5 but the hotel, pool staff restaurant where great. I stayed in room 8 in the old part of the hotel and I will be back down every other week.

Excellent but tired
Really enjoyed our stay, the food was excellent and the gym and sauna and large pool was a bonus but the hotel was tired and needed a refurb, otherwise excellent location and we were happy with ur stay and it was a very reasonable price

Great place and service
This hotel location is amazing. Located on a hilltop with an amazing view. The staff were very caring and helpful and even walked me to my room after I couldn’t find it. Yeah it’s a little difficult but once found…… The breakfast is worth every penny. Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and the hotel is clean (even smells clean!) FREE parking. Not greedy enough to charge like other hotels. Just a very nice place and location.

I have stayed in the Hilton and other 4 star establishment's. Other than this hotel, the only time I was asked how was the service provided, was on a business class flight. All the hotel employees were both exceptional in the delivery of client satisfaction and professionalism. They actually cared. That was clearly evident. I shall most definitely return to this amazing hotel! I shall tell all my friends and colleagues to stay there, at least once, if not more!

Cut short a long drive home and stayed here last minute. Although not the easiest to get to from the M5 the faff was worth it. Very efficient check-in, great amenities and a really comfortable bed. No complaints whatsoever.

Only allowed 30 mins in pool and it was cold. Pool manager argued it was 29c. No one to give towels and locker key so missed some oftime of slot waiting. Sauna and steam room you need to walk through gym and limited hours. Unable to go as not in 30min slot. Shuts at 8pm. Room unclean. Lock broken on door, heating turned off, mattress had wires sticking out and lumpy. Staff bought a heater, blanket over mattress and hoovered and cleaned room once flagged up. Asked for help carrying bags on way back as we have health conditions but help never came. Breakfast OK. Need to request Veggie food but came quickly. Wouldn't recommend experience or stay here again.

Dear Zoe,Thank you for your stay and I apologise that you found so many issues. We have received no similar feedback regarding the pool temperature, and our member of staff (who you could have asked for towels/locker keys) stated the temperature was 29c, not to argue, but as this would have been the temperature at the time. In addition our confirmation email which you received, contains information regarding our Leisure Club opening hours, including the opening times for the Sauna/Steam Room. I apologize for the other issues with your stay, however I understand that your room was cleaned once again and you were provided help with luggage upon check in. We wish you well but considering your plethora of issues, unfortunately I don't think this is the Hotel for you.

Worst Burger i have ever eaten!
The hotel was OK but the food was awful. I have a burger which smelt and tasted like feaces. I took 2 bites and pushed it to the other side of the table but could still smell it. The breakfast in the morning wasn't much better, Apple juice tasted like chemicals. If the food wasn't so bad i would possibly stay again.

A very pleasant one night stay. We didn’t use most facilities, but the room was good, clean and comfortable, the evening meal was very good, and the service from the staff was excellent. And good value. We would stay there again
