This is my first time checking in for a hotel and so far my experience has been delightful. The front desk is very nice and approachable. The room itself is very clean and the bed is very comfortable. I also love the fact that the hotel is less than 5mins walk away from all the shops and dining places. I will for sure come back to this hotel!

The staff during my stay were very welcoming. The property is beautiful & clean. The bedroom was neat & quaint. I appreciated the complimentary water & champagne. Nice touch. The bed & pillows were super comfortable. I didn’t want to get out of it. The only downside was that the elevators were not working at the time of my stay. Other than that, I will definitely stay here again!

Very convenient location, 3mins from the beach and the restaurants! Although the room was kinda compact, the cleanliness and tropical vibe were wonderful! Shout out to the Bistro staff who helped me heat my leftovers so that I could enjoy the fish on a sunny morning!

Hotel Atwater was phenomenal! This was our first time visiting Catalina Island. Everything from the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness, decor, comfort and general convenient location made it the PERFECT place. We felt very welcomed as soon as we stepped into the hotel. It is a newly renovated hotel that has elegance and charm, just as Catalina Island is known for. We were very blown away by all of the “perks” that come with the hotel. It was also so nice to just be able to walk right outside and have the water, shops and restaurants just right there. We will definitely be back. Thank you Hotel Atwater for an unforgettable experience!

The Hotel Atwater is a great hotel in the perfect location in Avalon. The only hiccup in our stay was that the elevator was out the entire time of our stay and with an arthritic knee it made it hard to climb the three floors multiple times a day. The rooms are very small since it is a renovated old hotel, but they are clean and very modern. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.

The front desk are amazing Lily and Alvin are genuine, and kind and very professional, very welcoming. Definitely will return. The Hotel is very quaint and a boutique atmosphere. Very unique. It’s important to note that it’s the location that is your prize, and not the size of your rooms or amenities. Each floor has beautiful views from the windows off the hallway, and not from your room. Well worth the $$. Safe and clean. Front desk Lily and Alvin are what makes it more beautiful. Their smiles are Gold!

The hotel is well located, clean, staff very friendly. The room is a little small but then everything is. Thought it pricey, $40/day " Destination Fee" is out of line with $41.88 tax on top. Bring 2 night stay to $783.12, just not worth that. Also the bed has very sharp corners which we both caught our legs on resulting in bloody legs. As I mentioned the room is small.

Great stay!
I enjoyed my stay very much. The room was beautiful. Very comfortable bed. Great location and the Girls at the front desk were so sweet and accommodating. The elevator was out but the girls were kind enough to carry my bags up the stairs! I will definitely stay here again.

The Hotel Atwater was outstanding. Our first time at this downtown icon. Top notch location: steps from the beach, the pier, Catalina Express, Bluewater restaurant, Discover Catalina bus tour, shopping. The hotel staff was warm and professional. Coffee and tea in the lobby were appreciated. The beds are super comfy and lighting fantastic. Not the cheapest hotel in Avalon but well worth it. I hope to come back!

The staff at the facility were nice and courteous! They really took care of me and family. They made arrangements for us to check in early so my kids and I didn’t have to carry around our bags. They allowed us a late check out since our excursion was ending later than the check out time. And they also stored our bags on our last day even though we had checked out until our boat was leaving the Island! Very professional.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! Our rooms are on the smaller side, as the property was built more than 100 years ago. When we remodeled, we chose to keep the footprint of the rooms the same to preserve some of the hotel's history.

The 2nd night we stay at the Atwater the electricity went out on the whole island arond 530-600 pm. It was pitch dark in our hotel room and we had plan to get dinner around 7 pm so we were concern of not being able to have dinner. We stayed at other hotels around the world and experience tragic issue before but in those events we would get a letter, a call, or a staff member letting us know what is going on and what they are doing to solve the problem putting us as guest as ease. And offer assistance for any inconvenience. Not at the Atwater. No one said a thing, informed us, offer assistance or let us know what they are doing to help. I understand that things like this happens unannounce and sometimes out of the hotels control but i feel they could of done something to ease their guest. We checked out the next morning at 11 am and the electricity hasn't been restored, not a word of apology was said.
