A family group of 7 stayed here for two nights for an event in east Austin. The owner, Paprika Leaverton, responded promptly each time to my needs/questions in making the reservation. The house was clean and has a kitchen that is well-stocked with dishes and utensils for cooking. Everything was in working order and there are lots of table surfaces available for keeping our belongings organized. There was plenty of seating and the beds were comfortable. It is an older home that retains its vintage charm. One of the best parts of the stay was the neighborhood. I have lived in Austin in the past and was surprised about how vibrant east Austin has become. There are tons of cute coffee shops and eateries in waking distance from the house. It is an active, lively community with people of all ages and cultures living there. Lots of homes were in the process of being renovated. People were everywhere, out walking their dogs or getting around on bikes. It was fun to sit on the front porch and watch. Despite all the activity, and proximity of the houses, it was surprisingly VERY quiet at night. Not a single dog bark or car was heard! The trash pick up was a tad noisy one morning, but that happens in any neighborhood.Someone lives upstairs, but you wouldn't know it. My one suggestion is that the middle bedroom could use a mirror above the desk for getting dressed when others are occupying one of the two nice bathrooms. I would love to stay here again.
