Welcome to Ramblewood Cabin 4, a thoughtfully designed woodland retreat just outside Athens, Ohio.
Ramblewood is a collection of distinctive cabins set along the edge of a 250-acre woodland preserve, less than a mile from the Athens city limits and Ohio University, yet surrounded by woods, water and wonder. Cabin 4 offers the same comfortable rustic luxury found throughout Ramblewood, with an especially relaxing, spa-like bathroom featuring a large soaking tub.
Wake up to pond and woodland views, linger over coffee on the deck, wander miles of trails, or fire up the grill and settle in for the evening. Whether you’re coming to Athens for Ohio University, a weekend getaway, a visit with family or simply a chance to slow down, Ramblewood offers the feeling of being away from it all without actually being far away.
The cabin has a spacious two-level deck with outdoor dining and seating areas, giving you plenty of room to stretch out, relax and enjoy the setting. The surrounding woods and water are always close at hand, whether you’re having your morning coffee outside or winding down at the end of the day.
Outside, Eastern white pine reverse board-and-batten siding gives the cabin a distinctive look that feels completely at home in its natural surroundings.
Inside, you’ll find warm, comfortable furnishings, thoughtful décor, custom granite countertops and a large-screen TV. The cabin is designed to feel polished and special without losing the relaxed character of a woodland retreat.
The well-equipped chef’s kitchen includes a full-size range and oven, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher, along with plenty of space for preparing meals. It works just as well for a quick breakfast before heading into Athens as it does for a long, unhurried dinner back at the cabin.
One of Cabin 4’s standout features is its spacious, spa-like bathroom. Heated tile floors, an oversized walk-in shower and a large, luxurious soaking tub create an inviting place to unwind after a day of hiking, exploring Athens or simply enjoying the property.
Cabin 4 is part of the Ramblewood collection. The cabins share a similar level of quality, comfort and thoughtful design, but each has its own personality through its décor, furnishings, artwork and views.
The cabins are grouped near one another, making Ramblewood especially appealing for friends or families traveling together. You can stay close to the people you’re traveling with while still having the privacy and comfort of your own cabin.
Guests have private use of Cabin 4 and its two-level deck, along with access to Ramblewood’s grounds, pond and miles of trails bordering the 250-acre woodland preserve. You can head out for a walk, explore the woods, spend time around the pond or simply stay at the cabin and enjoy the view.
Downtown Athens, Ohio University and the Convocation Center are just minutes away. Restaurants, shops, breweries and everything else Athens has to offer are close by, while Hocking Hills makes for an easy day trip.
Spend the day exploring Athens, visiting OU or heading into the hills — or just stay put and see where the trails lead.
Ramblewood is a natural woodland property, so guests should expect wooded terrain, slopes and trails rather than manicured resort grounds. Appropriate footwear is recommended when exploring.
An older horse named Bubba also lives on the property and may occasionally be seen near the driveway or elsewhere around Ramblewood. Bubba is approximately 35 years old and has lived on this property his entire life. He is not aggressive, but he has never been a riding or handling horse, is deaf and blind in one eye, and can be skittish.
Please do not approach, pet, feed or attempt to handle him. If he is standing in the driveway or near your path, simply give him some space and wait. He will move along on his own.
Guests are also welcome to enjoy the pond and surrounding property, but swimming, hiking and other outdoor activities are at your own risk.
At the end of the day, come back to the pond, the deck, the soaking tub and a cabin that feels a little more luxurious, a little more comfortable and a little more like home with each passing day.
Come discover Ramblewood.
