Great place to spend a few days in the Hamptons. Very helpful, hospitable staff. Room was spacious and clean with all amenities like a full kitchenette, comfortable beds and great beach access. Overall a great couple’s destination for a few days of relaxation in the Hamptons.

Thank you for your kind comments! And yes, like many of the resorts in the area, our outdoor heated pool officially opens Memorial Day Weekend and remains open (weather dependent of course) up through Columbus Day Weekend. We are glad you enjoyed your stay!

The property was great! The room was clean, the heat worked terrific, and there was nice hot water. Everything worked well; the check-in process was easy with the keypad and the property was located right next to the beach, which was terrific. Parking was super easy as well, too. We overall had a great experience. I will stay here again; I highly recommend it to those considering!

This place was a joke for what they are charging. I am a long time visitor and vacationer on the east end and have lived here on Long Island all my life. I will never go back to Windward Shores. The beds were so uncomfortable we had to sleep on an air mattress. The king bed that was advertised was two twin beds pushed together - I kid you not. The customer service was a joke too, no real help at the beach with cabana service - young rude kids who did not have the reserved chairs and umbrellas ready, and then we had to ask for the additional umbrella we requested on their text prompt the night prior and the whole experience was just rotten. So rude and obnoxious. And there are no lifeguards on duty here. So for two nights and 2600 plus dollars later this place was beyond a joke. Not even a roll of paper towels or a dish towel either in their supposedly well stocked kitchen. The fridge stunk so bad like milk had spoiled for months in there. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. GO DOWN TO DRIFTWOOD OR HERMITAGE, BEST FOR THE MONEY DOWN ON EAST END !!!! THIS PLACE WAS GARBAGE. RUDE AND NOT KEPT UP. OLD GARBAGE = THIS PLACE !!!!

If you ever have any issues or are unhappy with something, please notify Front Desk immediately so we can assist you and ensure you have an enjoyable stay. We were unaware of any displeasure while you were on property, so no matter where you book in the future, please provide the hotel an opportunity to make any fixes then and there for you.Please note that most resorts in the Hamptons area do not have lifeguards, including the other Dune Resort properties you listed, both Driftwood and the Hermitage. For any concerned guests who are not comfortable swimming in the ocean, we have an outdoor heated pool on property. As you noted, we do have a Book the Beach feature to reserve chairs, towels, and umbrellas. Cabana always gets the chairs set up first and keep the towels and umbrellas reserved for you to be placed once you arrive for two reasons:1) Ocean breezes can sometimes blow sand onto the new towels which is no fun and the umbrella placements that guests request often differ depending on the time of day you are arriving at the beach. Some people want them to block the sun, others may want them faced to block a wind. This way Cabana can place your requested umbrellas exactly where you like for the most comfort. 2) It gives Cabana an opportunity to introduce themselves and to notify you of any ocean warnings like rip currents, should there be any that day, if you do plan on swimming in the ocean to ensure guest safety.There were both a fresh roll of paper towels and a kitchen towel provided in the unit upon check-in. We do formal inspections of the rooms after Housekeeping finishes to ensure all items were indeed placed before approving the room for check-in. We also did a service for you the following day where we provided you with more of each, though we understand from Housekeeping that it seems you had more people staying in the unit then the two adults you made the reservation for. Please make sure to always provide the accurate number of people when making a reservation. Had you needed more paper towels or dish towels for your much larger group, we could have easily provided you with more. We also don't have air mattresses on property (we have cots if needed), so you must have brought your own in anticipation of having more people than the bedding we provide, including the Full size sleeper sofa we have in all of our units in anticipation for larger groups. This is the first complaint we have had regarding the bedding in the unit you stayed in, but we will be sure to obtain guest feedback on that particular unit moving forward to see if new mattresses are needed which we can replace quickly. The hotel room was very simple and had not been upgraded in quite some time. However, it sits right on a gorgeous beach, and the heated pool was wonderful as well. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful beach weekend with a simple, clean hotel room, this is a perfect option. Also we found the hotel and beach staff very accommodating and helpful.

Very Nice Stay!
We had a great time. Room was exactly as expected. Beach and pool were very nice and footsteps from our door. Self checkin and checkout made everything really easy. Only complaints were that we were not notified that there was any type of room cleaning service until two days in. Also the photos of the room showed an oven and described that cookware would be available, however there were no pans for the oven. Minor complaints to an otherwise great stay. We would definitely come back.

We are very glad to hear you enjoyed your stay!As you mentioned in your feedback, we use a lot of text features for things like a mobile check-out option for guest convenience. You should have received a text each morning explaining to place the sign on the door if you would like an in-room service or for a Do Not Disturb. In the case that you didn't request an in-room service, we also provide you with the option to request items through the link and Housekeeping will drop off a care package for you later in the afternoon so you can still receive replenishments. We double checked our tech and everything seems to be functioning properly and guests have been receiving the text. We are sorry if that was confusing though!Also, we are sorry to hear you didn't find any pans. If that ever happens again, please notify Front Desk. We have back up stock on kitchen supplies like that in case something goes missing or breaks. We could have easily provided that for you had we known, but there should have been some in the room already. Thank you for letting us know!Thank you again for choosing Windward Shores Ocean Resort. This property was located right on the beach. It wasn’t too crowded. They had beach service with chairs and umbrellas. The units are a little dated but it worked for us. We did have an issue with shower glass door shattering but they responded quickly and cleaned it all up.

Loved our stay, already planning our next visit! Reasonably priced, clean rooms, love having a kitchen. The stay was extremely quiet and peaceful. Having direct beach access and a heated pool was a bonus! Lastly, being right in between East Hampton and Montauk gave us a quick commute to both.

Thank you for your rating. We are very sorry to hear you were unhappy with your stay! We always want our guests to enjoy their time at the beach with us. We take guest feedback, both positive and negative, very seriously, as it is the only way to grow and improve.Expedia did call us after your departure to say you were displeased with the room and wanted a discount which we will admit to being very surprised to hear. You had stayed with us for several days and never communicated any displeasure with the interior of the unit. You also extended your stay with us, booking through Expedia an additional night in a smaller unit than the one you originally reserved. You requested twice during your stay that you actually wished to stay in the room you were in and not move to another unit on your final night. You also wanted it to be a free upgrade as the unit you initially reserved was much larger than the second reservation you made for the additional night. We did approve you to stay in the room as you asked without charging the extra for the larger space, which was about a half off discount for the night. You were very pleased with that result and thanked staff for it, which was why we were so surprised to then get a call after your departure that you wanted a discount for the room you requested to stay in.We are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay or the discount provided. If you are ever dissatisified with a room, be it at our hotel or any other you stay at in the future, always communicate that with Front Desk immediately so they can resolve the problem for you and make your stay more enjoyable. Had you informed us the room wasn't to your personal liking, we had availability in other suites at the time of your stay that we would have been more than happy to show you and move you to if you wanted to make the switch. While the location was excellent, the condo was outdated, and not clean. There was one of those sanitary wrappers around the toilet, but when I went to lift the lid, I found urine on the seat. Also, the bedding there was flimsy, and there were no extra blankets. Lastly, I thought there was a Keurig machine there, so I brought my K-cups, but there wasn't one. The pictures presented for this rental were somewhat misleading, in my opinion...

Thank you for such helpful feedback! We always want to hear what works and what doesn't from our guests so we appreciate the insight. The room you occupied during your stay had a lot of recent upgrades done (changed the flooring to a more popular, modern gray, new curtains, paint, sconces in the loft, etc.) so we're curious what was "outdated" in your opinion. Sometimes guests like and dislike things that other guests have the opposite view on, so we always like to hear guests thoughts to see if there is a common thread or if it's just simply personal preference. That being said, the unit was exactly as photographed. While we do have units on property where there are multiple rooms of the same category type which can have different decor, the unit you reserved was a Corner unit and thus one of a kind and the pictures shown for the room were taken fairly recently, so we're not sure what you mean by the pictures being misleading. Speaking of a common thread, we did receive similar feedback by a few other guests that they would prefer thicker bedding, so we are in the process of replacing that as I type this. Thank you for the helpful suggestion and know that, should you stay with us again, that will be changed.Lastly, no, we do not provide Keurig's. Our property offers fully outfitted kitchens for every unit on property (stoves, oven, fridges and freezers, microwaves, etc.). We do provide both tea kettles and Mr. Coffee Makers which is why on Hotels.com we state that our kitchens have tea/coffee makers. It does not say Keurig's. We had considered switching our Mr. Coffee Makers to Keurig's once, but our rooms sleep a max of 4 to 6 people, depending on the unit type, and the majority of our guests actually prefer the pots so they can make coffee in the morning for the entire family and not have to do one cup at a time (ours make 12). In the future, if you're ever unsure, make sure to read what is provided under the Kitchen section, or simply call the property ahead of time to inquire and know what to bring.Thanks again for the suggestions.
