Behold... Puu Pehe, known as “Sweetheart Rock”.

This is Lanai’s most notable landmark and the setting for one of Hawaii’s epic legends.
Story goes a hottie princess from Maui was "captured" by a young warrior from Lanai. He made her his wife and he was so smitten with her beauty and... apparently so insecure that he was afraid to let other men see her so kept her in a sea cave near the rock when he was away. One day the weather suddenly changes, the surf slams the area, and... yup, one less princess. The warrior rushed back to the cave, but it was too late, he climbed the steep rock where he buried her in a tomb and then overcome with grief leapt to his death.

Moral of story might be... um, don't abduct women and lock them in caves.

„Clean room, kind staff, cute cats in the lobby... They had it all. My mom and I stayed here for a week during our Maui visit. The Ohana room above the lobby was amazing and had a full kitchen that we cooked several meals at. We also loved using the propane grills to BBQ next to the pool. The little hot tub by the laundry mat was so cute and awesome to soak in at night. It was maybe a block away from the beach.“

„Fantastic apartment - everything about it was comfortable, clean and spacious. Awesome views, very quiet and peaceful (except on a Friday afternoon from 2-5pm when a band played in the bar right below the apartment!). The apartment was well-appointed with quality items and furniture. The hosts were responsive and helpful. We had absolutely everything we needed for a wonderful 4-week stay.“
