Wunderschöne Hotelanlage in großzügigem Garten mit vielen separaten Plätzen vor breitem Sandstrand. Jeder findet seinen Lieblingsplatz, ob am palmwedelbeschirmten Tisch, in der Hängematte oder auf der Liege unter Palmen oder am Pool. Sehr interessant das Spiel der Gezeiten. Sehr guter Service, der mit den zwar dezenten Sexangeboten jedoch für diese Hotelklasse etwas zu weit geht.

Perfekt!
Absolut traumhaft! Wir hatten die Pool-Villa und hatten einen traumhaften Urlaub. Das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich und aufmerksam, die Anlage ist ein sehr schön, das Zimmer war perfekt. Es hätte nicht besser sein können! Wir würden jederzeit wieder hier buchen!

Wonderful place with best beach on Sansibar
We found on our Trip to Sansibar one of the most beautiful places on the world! The Hotel is wonderful, quiet, has a very friendly and lovely staff, has only 20 rooms (no mass tourism), one of the best beaches ever, incl. a super pool, and a great and healthy kitchen. The beach was all day nearly empty, and the same was at the pool: Enough places but just 3 or 4 people at same time. The weather was always warm, but never too hot, with only few rain in small rain season. Our room was wonderful, we had a room with a small private pool in front. So there was always a 4-step way procedure: 1. swimming in ocean, then 2. going into big pool, 3. using our smaller private pool before 4. taking the shower. There were nearly no mosquitos (great!). But I recommend usinga sun blocker with high number, the sun is very strong. All staff working here was very helpful and friendly, but never obtrusive. You could get anytime everything, drinks, snacks, fruits the whole day, and they brought it always to your room, to beach or pool, or to the launch areas. We got a very personal contact to all of them, and learned the most important sentence: Hakuna matata (no problem). Snorkeling was better than expected: They drop us out with a boat together with a guide, and we used the tough current to drift back with tide into the lagoon. Thank you very much to Heidi and all her staff, we really loved your service and your hotel. Best rating for all categories! We highly recommend your hotel!

We just left after spending 6 night at this wonderful resort. My family and our travel friends had a wonderful time, and were sad to leave. The staff are super amazing, the resort was a wonderful place to relax, the food very delicious, I can’t really say enough great things about this resort. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend the Pongwe Beach Hotel!

The staff and management were all very friendly and professional. Our room was delightful and had everything we could wish for and more. The beach was beautiful, clean and private. The food was of a high standard with a menu that changed daily. Would recommend Pongwe Beach to anyone wishing for a relaxing holiday in the sun.

Overall we had a wonderful stay at Pongwe Beach Hotel. The property is very unique in Zanzibar in that it has its own almost private beach pretty much immediately near bungalows and its very beautiful and quiet, the sea is very clean with less seaweed than others we visited. Beautiful swimming pool overlooking the sea. The resort facilities and bedrooms could be improved in that the decor feels a little dated in terms of interior design, but generally very comfortable and very well serviced by the ever cheerful and kind staff working at every level. Food is very good, the menus are changed daily and offer two options plus two vegetarian options at lunch, and others at dinner. The rooms could be improved by offering air conditioning in every room. Some rooms only offer a fan with a bed-cooling air con system which we didn’t enjoy.

We visited Pongwe Beach after a week bumping around on safari, like most visitors. The hotel was the perfect place to slow down, relax and enjoy the beautiful beach, pool and ocean. The small beach was perfectly lovely and private, with lounge chairs always available and just the right amount of sun and shade for the hot days of summer. Service was great and the folks made themselves available on just the right frequency. Happy hour drinks were beautiful and delicious. Breakfast was a highlight, with perfect omelets, a buffet full of fruit and delicious morning coffee. Oh, and speaking of coffee, the early morning delivery of coffee and tea to the bungalow patios was an unexpected treat. Up with the sunrise, enjoying a cup of delicious Tanzanian coffee on the beach was an absolute joy. We did enjoy lunch and dinner as well, with the menus changing daily. Food was good, but not over the top excellent, but no real complaints. The hotel is slightly out of the way, so be prepared to pay a lot for transportation should you want to visit other parts of Zanzibar, like Stonetown, or eat at other restaurants on the Island (we do recommend The Rock, if just for the experience). As with most visitors here, we were sad to leave and were wondering how we can find an excuse to return someday in the not too distant future.

Great hotel on a wonderful beach.
Great hotel on a wonderful beach where the low tide is less extreme than in other places. In many hotels in Zanzibar you can see the ambition they had when the hotel was built, but management hasn't been able to maintain it. This hotel is an exception, very well kept. Very professional staff. Only negative thing I can think of is that the food is a bit overpriced.

Toujours aussi magnifique !
Cet hôtel est toujours aussi agréable, avec sa localisation TOP ! La plage devant l'hôtel est magnifique, la piscine est avec une vue panoramique sur cette plage et est splendide, les couleurs changent selon l'exposition de la journée. La marée basse de la mer juste devant l'hôtel est agréable. On y passe de très agréable séjour, rien ne manque. Tout le personnel est cette fois agréable et serviable. Le petit-déjeuner est de qualité, ainsi que les repas qu'on avait pris. J'ai choisi de retourner dans cet hôtel pour sa localisation et sa qualité en général et je ne suis pas déçue, je reviendrai surement si j'en aurais l'occasion.

Just book it. You won’t be disappointed. If you can’t feel happy or unwind whilst you’re here, then I don’t know where you can?! They have thought of so many little things to make your stay so special (I won’t spoil the surprises). The hotel is officially a 3* hotel, because it doesn’t have things like tv in the rooms, or hairdryers or air conditioning. But why come to paradise looking for those things?? Honestly you don’t need it. The staff, food, location and cleanliness are all tip top. I can’t wait to go back again!!
