Our 27 day stay was too short! We are full-time travelers and we know the value of a place that has everything you need: delightful hosts, good wifi, comfortable seating, good transportation hub and a kitchen to do simple meals. The cottage is cozy but not cramped. Patrick and Helen looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed and greeted us with a very warm welcome. We also got to enjoy their lush garden.
The village itself provided restaurants, bakeries, butcher, etc. (We especially enjoyed Somali Indian.) Our trip to the Yorkshire Dales is one of the highlights of our 7 1/2 journey!
York itself was history and fun. Eat at Betty's Tea Restaurant! Patrick is very knowledgeable about local and York history.
The bottom line---you will be very pleased with your decision to stay at Carpenter's Cottage
