There is no storage space for things in the bathroom. Lack of hooks or bars to hang bathroom towels. The save was not functional. The room made a newly renovated impression, but unfortunately with the above missing details.“

„A lovely, quaint and homely guest house with friendly, helpful staff. My room was clean, comfortable, warm and cosy. I was given a guided tour of the breakfast facilities upon check in and then shown to my room. The breakfast itself next morning was delicious and made to order.

„Das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich und man kam sich bei dem Service fast wie in einem 5 Sterne Hotel vor. Uns wurde angeboten das Gepaeck auf das Zimmer zu bringen und wir wurden zu unserem Zimmer begleitet. Das Zimmer war sauber und gross genug und mit Wasserkocher und Kaffee/Tee sowie Keksen ausgestattet. Zum Fruehstueck gab es u.a. Cornflakes und Muesli. Ausserdem konnte man sich aus einem Menu eigentlich alles was das Herz begehrt (Eier, Bohnen, Schinken, Wurst, Omlette, Waffeln..) ...

„We LOVED our stay here! Our room was the “Grand Room, 1 King Bed, Balcony, Garden View” in the newer building and the attention to detail was exceptional. Loved the large comfy bed, our cozy robes, the deep bathtub and accompanying luxury toiletries and bath soaking salts. The WiFi was fast and the staff members were fantastic. It was a close walk into town and close to everything you could want to explore in the Lakes District. Very cool how the hotel provides wellies (Hunter Boots) for guests ...

„The stay at the cottage was good. It is positioned on a busy road but it quiets down later at night. There is a shop at the petrol station that has everything you will need for the stay and close to bus tops to take to Ambleside and Windermere.
The beds are on the soft side but not uncomfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped but he had to buy paper kitchen towels, bin bags and dishwasher tablets.
All in all, our stay was great. We would stay here again. “

„Visable damp on the bathroom wall by the shower and a very strong smell of damp in the downstairs area including bedrooms. The owner tried to disguise the smell with air fresheners and by leaving the windows open but the smell of damp was still immediately apparent on entry.
Had we been staying longer than 2 nights and not arrived so late in the evening on the first night we would have left.
It was a real shame because everything else about the property and surrounding area was beautiful, but ...
