There is a disco and kareoke bar in the hotel beneath the room. The noise was so loud that I could hear it banging through the ear plugs I was sleeping with. This went on until almost 2am and I could not sleep at all. The hotel is also next to the main road and traffic noise and lights from the street is horrible. Aside for this there are insence sticks in the lobby (I assume to mask the smell of cigarette smoke) which gave my terrible hay fever. It definitely should not get an 8.2 rating!! It was not good at all!

I was expecting some noise - after all, the hotel is above a pub and on a busy street. What a pleasant surprise to have such a quiet night (Monday), comfortable bed and convenient location for the best price in Wollongong. I would definitely stay here again. Bonus - just around the corner, Lower East Cafe. Great coffee & food!

What is not disclosed is that this hotel is actually a pub hotel with the weekends turning into a nightclub and karaoke every evening. The hotel space of the building has heavy smell of cleaning and air fresheners that made me nauseous

Great location, comfy beds!!
I booked this hotel pretty last minute. I was performing at the Illawarra Performing Arts Center, just around the corner. I had read the reviews about the loud music late at night. I knew this would not be a problem for me, as I myself would be getting to sleep late at night after my show. The reviews were correct, the music is pretty loud until about 2am. They do provide ear plugs though, so good for them! The bed and sheets were amazing, super comfy, 10/10 for the bed, sheets and towels! The hot water in the shower was a little temperamental but lucky for me, I am not fussy when it comes to that. Overall, best choice in town for location, price and comfort. I looked at another cheaper hotel that had a shared bathroom and no air conditioning........ what in the world?! This was definitely worth the price difference between that hotel and this one!!

We loved everything, the room was very clean, location was the best but one thing was very concerning and it was a safety issue that we didnt feel safe at all especially when was raining that the power electrical box and cables were right infront of our room and very close, i had a panic attack over it and even the first night after i went to bed, heard a bang woke up in fear and straight ran to check the window. Other than the pole with electricity stuff everything was amazing. Friday was the noisy night but didnt really bother us becaue we stay up late anyway. We will be back definitely.

When I booked harp hotel it was not mentioned that this is a pub hotel. I asked the reception would noise be an issue and she said no. Not only did I feel it wasn't safe the music and loud singing was blasting on past 2am- definitely couldn't sleep . Tried to call management and they said it was mentioned we were above a pub in the welcome message sent (I found it among a lot of other information). I then said it was not mentioned noise would continue till 2am- I was told that I should have looked up the opening hours. Management and staff are intentionally being deceitful. I have posted photos

We are very disappointed in this review, Not once during your two night stay did you speak to any of our staff with your issues or concerns about the noise. It is clearly mentioned on every booking platform that we are a pub and we also send two pre arrival messages stating that there is noise, to avoid dissatisfaction of our guests. We are glad our reception staff were able to assist you in managements absence to find the information you claim we are being deceitful about.

However, we would like to clarify that upon reviewing our records, we have confirmed that your reservation was indeed for a twin room (two single beds), as indicated in the confirmation emails that were sent to you. Our reception staff also made every effort to assist and provide clarification by showing you on the documentation that you provided which supports your reservation for a twin room. We apologize that there were no alternative rooms available without notice and appreciate your understanding in this matter.

It was way better than I expected. Very nice and clean rooms. The noise from down stairs were expected so it didn’t bother me and they offer free ear plugs which helps.
