Summary:

Three bedrooms, four bathrooms and room for six, at the top of Winchester's historic High Street. Both king bedrooms have their own showers and the twin room can be zipped into a third king, so everyone gets a proper bed and nobody waits for a bathroom. Evenings here move from the kitchen island to the arcade table and darts in the games room, then out to the hot tub under its shelter in the enclosed courtyard. The Great Hall is three minutes on foot, the station five and the cathedral about ten.



The Space:

Sleeping

One bedroom is on the ground floor and two are on the lower ground floor.

Bedroom 1: UK king-size bed (150 cm wide, similar to a US queen), en suite shower room, smart TV and a decorative period fireplace.

Bedroom 2: UK king-size bed and a TV, with a walk-in shower, toilet and basin inside the room.

Bedroom 3: two single beds, which we can zip together as a king if you ask when booking, plus a desk and a smart TV.

Hotel-quality linen and towels are ready for everyone, with spare pillows and blankets.



Bathrooms

Four in all: the two en suites, a family bathroom with a freestanding bath (bath only, no shower) and a separate wet room, so a full house can get ready at the same time.



Kitchen and dining

A fully fitted kitchen with a double oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. The island seats six on bar stools, and the courtyard has its own table for eating outside.



Living room and games room

The open-plan living area has mustard sofas, armchairs, a smart TV and a decorative fireplace. Downstairs, the games room has an arcade table, an electronic dartboard, Union Jack cinema-style seats, a smart TV with an Amazon Fire TV Cube, and board games.



Outside

A private, enclosed courtyard with a parasol, an electric barbecue and the hot tub under its own shelter.



Everyday practicals

Wi-Fi throughout, a desk for working, a washing machine, heating, room-darkening blinds, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and a first aid kit.



Travelling with children

Children and babies are welcome. There's no cot or high chair at the moment, so please bring a travel cot if you need one. The games room is downstairs, and children should always be supervised in the hot tub.



Bringing your dog

Up to two dogs are welcome, and a pet fee applies.



Good to know

We drain, clean and refill the hot tub before every stay, for hygiene and health and safety. Fresh water takes around 6 to 8 hours to heat, so after a same-day changeover it may not be hot on your first evening. There is a separate flat above the house, so the hot tub closes at 10 pm and we ask for quiet from then until 7 am.



Guest Access:

You'll have the whole house and courtyard to yourselves. Self check-in is by lockbox between 4 pm and 9 pm, check-out is by 10 am, and parking is on-street permit parking (Zone Q), with a free digital permit for one car arranged for you.



The Neighborhood:

The house is on Upper High Street, at the top of Winchester's historic centre. On foot: the Westgate two minutes, the Great Hall and King Arthur's Round Table three, the High Street's shops and cafés about seven, and the cathedral around ten. Walk the Water Meadows out to the Hospital of St Cross, climb St Giles Hill for the view over the city, or spend a day at Marwell Zoo, Paultons Park or the Winchester Science Centre. In November and December the Cathedral Christmas Market is a short walk away, and the South Downs and the New Forest are easy drives.



Getting Around:

Winchester station is about five minutes' walk, with direct trains to London Waterloo, Southampton and Bournemouth. By car, the M3 is close by, and Southampton Airport is about 17 km away.

You can choose either a £500 Damage Deposit (card details securely held; nothing is taken upfront and a charge can only be made following an approved claim) or SafeGuest's £55 No Deposit fee, paid directly to SafeGuest.



If you're unable to complete the photo ID check, please message us and we'll arrange a short video call instead. Please do not send ID documents by email.
