Leider gab es nur für ca 10% der Gäste ( Lg Auskunft des Hotels 600) Liegen am Pool und an den Stränden. Da die Gäste einfach ihre Hotelbadetücher auf den Liegen ließen, konnte man auch nicht erkennen, ob diese besetzt sind oder nicht. In der Hauptsaison scheint das sehr freundliche Servicepersonal etwas überfordert....

More Nightmare than Dream at Daydream Island Resort I've visited Daydream Island Resort multiple times, but my latest experience was utterly disappointing and truly felt like a nightmare. Upon my return from another island and a long day of travel, I arrived at the resort at 6pm, only to be met with the coldest welcome. No greetings, just a very unfriendly shift manager who informed me that there was no reservation under my name. Despite showing him my booking confirmation and proof of payment, he remained unhelpful, claiming he couldn't verify my reservation because their system was down and he wasn't receiving any emails. I even resent my confirmation email at his request, only to be told yet again that he didn’t receive anything. Standing there in the evening, without a room and with no immediate solution offered, was incredibly frustrating and unacceptable for any guest, let alone a returning one. This is no way to treat visitors, and it certainly tarnished the island's reputation for me. I hope this feedback prompts some much-needed changes in their customer service.

Overall property and service was excellent, great initiative to offer a $10 credit per day if you don’t require your room made up/cleaned daily. Particular mention to Daydream’s maintenance manager Kara who went above and beyond to help us and make us welcome when some tree trimming work impeded some paths. She was wonderful! Would definitely return to this resort.

Most staff were lovely, others acted as if you were an inconvenience , all the staff that shared their knowledge regarding the living reef were fantastic as was the entertainment staff. The girl manning the snorkeling desk at lovers cove was also very friendly and helpful on 02/05/2024. The girl making coffees was snappy and unfriendly on the 2nd and 3rd May. In addition, the young man on reception checking us out didnt’t smile or ask us if we enjoyed our stay. He left us with an awful last impression. We had paint peeling of our bath and the plug hole was blocked with peeled paint when we arrived. Also the curtains in our room were ripped. We made a complaint about the bath, however nothing was done.

The choices by the star rating are difficult to give a fair review, stayed Fri&Sat night , Fri we had “Fresh Local catch of the day” that was anything but, they removed from the bill Thank you, Sat we had “Slow cooked Rib at infinity and Oysters that was fantastic, great meal, the staff were all pleasant and helpful, we had a trip to the Spa that was fantastic, the bad part came to our Room , we booked a Superior King Sea View so we could have the doors open and enjoy fresh sea air and views , we were so looking forward to that , sadly the Resort SUPPORT SMOKING IN THE ROOMS , we complained 4 times over 2 days re the guests below our Room as they continually SMOKED CAMEL FAGS - MORNING , Day & NIGHT , even though we complained, nothing changed they continued to smoke at will when they felt like it even though we asked them to stop and requested the management to assist who said they would ????, there was no change , so we felt like we couldn’t open our door ever as the would fill our room Absolutely disgusting , sadly the Resort should have more control and not support smoking in the Rooms , this pretty much destroyed the weekend away is a lovely place , there was no follow up from any management even though we supplied photos and room numbers , so I guess it’s just too bad it’s your problem, not the selfish, non thinking a hole who defies thinking of others , as a non smoker you have no rights ….. be careful booking this Resort ,as we saw guests smoking on the pool edges

The island is basically only half open to what it was back in 2014. Dining options are limited and for some reason they have moved the SUP and Kayak areas to the other side of the island furthest from where the drinks and eating areas are. Staff are friendly and accommodating and the rooms are clean.

Amazing stay outside the busy season. Beautiful Whitsunday surroundings and friendly staff. Main complex has been renovated well. The only two points to criticise where a slightly unloved other end of the island and an unimaginative breakfast buffet, that has lost its charm after the second day. Room for improvement here. But otherwise: we loved it

Pool area is relaxing and having the “living reef” is great to spend time at. Not much to do at night so be prepared for a quiet vacation. Staff were very nice and efficient. If you get windy weather it is very unlikely you will be able to use the aquatic equipment. Maybe that goes without saying. We had an ocean view room but couldn’t use the balcony because it was so windy. The hotel could use a really good vacuuming and room detailing. Food was hit and miss. For the price, I felt it should have been better.

Such a beautiful island. The resort pools and gardens were really nice. The view from our room was awesome. The staff were great. However there was not enough dining or food options and there was no entertainment. The room was a good size but the air-conditioning was noisy and the shower was terrible.

Staff aren't friendly, no food variety. We are a group of 15 persons and faced issues in all the rooms. 1- one room had aircon problem and safe not working upon arrival ( they fixed both in 2 hours). 2- Safe not working in the second room and they couldn't fix and didn't offer to change the room. 3- Aircon stopped in my room at 23:30 ( Temperature is 28c and humidity very high), it is 2:30 am and they still couldn't fix it, they asked us to move to another room so we can sleep. My whole family couldn't get to sleep till 3:30am. As a result my kids missed the breakfast next morning and slept most of the day. Jonathan (Manager) refused to do a night refund after all this hassle and the frustration we had. NEVER to book in this resort again. I had to give one star in order to leave a review otherwise i would have given ZERO star.

Rooms. No coffee machine. Furniture outdated. No complimentary biscuits. Exhaust fan faulty. Aircon excellent. Tv installed too high on wall. Shower head is terrible and drainage for vanity and bath is very poor. Brekky Area. Staff took too long to clean spillages. Fans not turned on and with the extreme humidity not comfortabl to eat at all. Everyone was dripping with sweat. Including staff. Food was way too salty. Hash browns not fresh. Not a range of hot food available. Same menu daily. Range of Activities were excellent however equipment such as stinger suits snorkels masks were very poor condition with rips in the suits. Pools were dirty and water way too hot. Gym is excellent. Service is good with helpful and friendly staff. Would i recommend it to family members? Probably not.

Resort should provide better customer service since many people go there to relax and have a good holiday. I went there with my other 2 friends, we had to constantly asked for extra towels, water glass & etc even though room was booked for 3 people. Quality and quantity of food was very low for all the meals, eve ice cream weren't tasting like ice cream, felt like we were provided with all the left over food with very high price.

It's a good resort, they just need to improve in maintaining the property. The rooms needs to be cleaned at least every other day if they cannot afford a daily housekeeping. They probably need to hire more staff to better their service. Good for a max 4 days stay, otherwise you will get bored. We had a good experience overall. It is a very unique resort with lots of potential. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We would certainly go back as it is a great experience to just be stuck in an island, be away from the hustle and bustle and just do nothing but chill and eat.

The bathroom had mould and the shower screen was so covered in soap scum, you could hardly see through it. We went to wash my niece in the bath and the paint was peeling off the tub. Not great. The food is super limited and not very appetising.

So much potential, but misses the mark.
Its an Ok resort, but nothing like others in the area in terms of service, cleanliness and variety. Only 2 main restuarants to choose from plus the breakfast buffet that is also a third dinner choice for 'bbq' but is simply not worth the per head price you pay. The staff are all forced to run multiple jobs eg the lifeguards are also in charge of some of the arts/craft activities, so clearly the owners are trying to stretch their staff to avoid having specialised people available which means no one 'owns' anything and are just there to get in and out everyday for a pay cheque and are not very dedicated to their roles. The grounds are not well kept with kangaroo poo everytwhere and no one is cleaning up after them or the guests by the pool which means the animals are getting into all the scraps and making a mess. On a positive, Lovers Cove is wonderfull and location to the other islands is great. Shuttle service is good. Island had a great opportunity to open back up after Cyclone Debbie as an exclusive resort, but has missed the mark with poor management and trying to sweat both physical and people assets.

We loved our stay at Daydream - the inclusions were fantastic, it was super convenient having everything available to you on the island, and staff were so helpful! Personally we loved the coffee kiosk, so we could take a coffee on a morning walk around the island. Also loved being able to hire all water sports equipment for free! Rooms were neat and clean, and the activities timetable was fantastic!

Overrated, overhyped, not worth the money. Motels are probably better than this so-called resort. They can't even provide water bottles with the kind of money they charge. My partner and I stayed on daydream island for seven nights. Perhaps if you are looking for a family holiday with young children, and are not too fussed about frills, this may be just the thing. For couples looking for a quiet relaxing hassle free holiday, it didn’t quite hit the spot. Bookings - Be warned in advance that bookings to do anything are essential (eat lunch/ dinner/ go on a ferry etc). Nothing can be done spur of the moment! In addition, the activities that we did book were not exactly a seamless experience. Missed details led to us doing a considerable amount of organising on behalf of staff, with a “cruise” to Whitehaven beach sold to us turning out to be simply a series of ferry passes. Staff and service- Very hit and miss, some were exceptional (Brendan from jet skiing and jade from Salti dining). Others were too young, clearly just here for a short time and no real investment in making your experience better. Lack of hospitality experience showed, with house keeping not emptying bins (and not refilling bin liners once I emptied it myself), not vacuuming rooms when asked and having no system to easily make requests for room service. Additionally, ringing for the front desk was never answered. It took us walking down to front desk (always manned by staff) for us to put requests in. Sometimes they were actioned, mostly not. Amenities - The pool area needs way more shade available, especially given the large amount of young families and children.
