Perfect location. Good continental breakfast, although there was no marmalade! Excellent shower. We had the downstairs room with space for wheelchair - this meant that the sink is low and small and that the room only had space for one chair. As with many hotel and b&b bathrooms, there was inadequate shelving or flat surfaces on which to put toiletries etc.. in fact, apart from balancing things on the toilet cistern, there was no space at all. To get 5 stars the room would need two chairs and some sort of view out of the window - its location prevents this.

The Quay B&B is a quaint property right in the heart of the town. The parking is a car park opposite but free parking is on the road if you’re lucky enough to find a space. The room was spacious and thoughtfully furnished. The bed comfortable. The bathroom was small and there were some issues with the shower but they didn’t deter from the experience. The owner is aware and is sorting it. The breakfast is continental only so it was nice to have intolerances to food catered for. And there was a space for the push bike.

We had a very nice, comfortable relaxing stay at the Quay B B. I really like the way they txt the door code to enter the B B, and the key for your room in a locker with also the code sent. Its a very old building with the usual wear and tear on some parts. But should not effect your stay. If your looking for a B B that have staff on the premises 24/7, or your looking for a 5* high spec B B this isnt the place for you. However if you want a warm friendly, comfortable place to just relax after lots of walking then the Quay would be ideal. We are definitely going to be booking again. The lovely manager welcomed us in the morning she was so friendly and very down to earth, and very hospitable.

What a lovely little B&B. My room was really lovely with a great shower room. The host was so friendly and could not be more helpful. My bike felt very safe left inside the property.

A delightful property, unmanned, quiet, and in a nice location. Beware that parking is in the public carpark opposite, only free between 18:00 and 08:00. A continental breakfast is available from 08:30, so I didn't get to sample it as I had to leave at that time. Didn't see a soul, but this was a comfortable and reasonably priced, nicely decorated seaside guesthouse.

October break
The room was small, but comfortable and clean. Very little space to put clothes or a suitcase. Would not recommend for longer than a couple of days, particularly as parking cost £15.00 a day.

This lovely B&B is located nicely near the port and facilities in the town. The property is building is over 200 years old and retains features such as narrow and steepish staircase which maybe slightly problematic for a few. There are 8 rooms over three levels. Rooms 7 on the sevens level was spacious considering the size of the building with contemporary decor. The room didn’t have air conditioning, however, was comfortable at night with the window open and quiet considering it is next to a busy road. A big tip to offer — the NCP car park across the road from the B&B is a rip off, so park in the NNDC car park next door and half the price!

Overall We had a nice stay, the room was nice, tea and coffee supplied. Clean fresh bedding However it is in desperate need of updating especially the entrance (stains on the carpets, and up the stairs, needs decorating all over. Flaking paint and cracked drain cover in the shower! The thing that needs to be stated is payment required before your stay, they tried to take money a week before without any notice that they were going to do this. When I spoke to the woman she said their looking had changed but like I said no notice that this had happened. Definitely did not think it was worth £175 for one night, I know location was good but when I looked there were rooms available at other places that charged way less and were far more better, if only they had spaces at the time of our visit!

Little Gem on the Quay
Where do I start? My solo trip to Wells next the Sea was great. The Quay is a lovely place to stay. Yes, it looks a little tired, but it's an old building which at one time was a pub and it's quirky which I love. Self check in was very straightforward and my room well signposted. Room 5 was big and airy, true to its description. It was clean, comfortable and contained all that it said it would. The en-suite was fine, although the shower needed a bit of TLC. The continental breakfast was lovely. I didn't rush down so was always last and there was plenty left. Alexandra was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Tina who helped out was also lovely and would always have a chat. There is no parking on site but there is a carpark opposite. I used Stearmans Yard which is council run which was £8.50 for 24hrs. There is also an option to buy a 7 day ticket for longer stays. I would definitely stay at The Quay again. It's perfectly positioned on the quay and it's comfortable. What more could one want?

Disrupted Stay!
I was allocated room 6 - unpacked, went to have a shower and a women stormed in “excuse me - you are in the wrong room” you get sent a text with codes for the door and locker for your key I was sent text for room 6. Anyway I should have been in room 7. So I moved and I got a text apology from the hotel. There was a dog in room 8 that kept barking all night. I would never stay anywhere that excepts dogs again how are you supposed to have a restful nights sleep?

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Wells-Next-The-Sea
Lovely little hotel in the heart of Wells-Next-The-Sea. Check in arrangements were great. Continental buffet breakfast was very good with a large range of cereals, quality fresh fruit and yoghurt and delicious bread, cheese and ham. Owner was extremely pleasant and provided an excellent supply of coffee/tea etc for use in the room an we were asked every day if we had everything we needed. Parking in the car park opposite was fine once you cracked the system. With the hotel being in the centre of Wells we were able to walk to the town and to restaurants for evening meals. All in all we had a wonderful stay in there and would not hesitate to repeat the experience.
