Little bit of paradise
beautiful little bach in Athenree, not too far from Tauranga, Waihi beach, Waihi, and Karangahake gorge. Perfect place to chill out and relax. had everything we needed for our stay.

Our Overnight Getway
We loved our overnight stay at Athenree Haven, it's such a quaint little place and Sue and her hubby have made the space nice and private. I love tiny living and it was perfect for what we wanted to do - which was hang out at the beach and have some downtime. We appreciated being able to bring our dog - a 7kg carvoodle - to stay with us. At first, we thought the place was too open to let Darcy off-leash, but Sue shut the gate to the whole property not long after we arrived, which allowed our little girl to explore as she wanted, safely. Grateful for that. The only issue happened when we were leaving the next day. Darcy wasn't interested in getting in the car, so played 'catch me if you can' and found her way into the backyard of Sue's gated personal space. It took a fair bit of coaxing, and angry eyes, to get her back, th. Thankfully, Sue's hubby was very gracious with us retrieving her. Sue had given us a towel for Darcy for any accidents, but we had brought along waterproof pads, just in case - no accidents were had. The bed is comfortable and the internet works well. It's a fantastic spot to take it easy. Will book this place again in the future. Thanks for being great hosts, Sue

Modern space
Lovely modern compact place to stay. Internet was unstable which affected TV, phones and laptop. We left after one night as it wasn’t what we were expecting and the host gave us a partial refund.

Wonderful location and delightful cottage
Perfectly sized for two of us. The right amount of space to snooze, read, eat and walk from. The beach at Waihi Beach was lovely and we enjoyed local yoga and massages. A very relaxing holiday.

Falling into Spring
Second time staying here and loved it again. Beautiful and comfortable cabin. Even though the weather was miserable we still had a chilled, relaxing weekend. Property fenced off, so ideal for our furbaby (Maltese x Shitzu) was perfectly safe. A stone's through away from the hotsprings and bay. We will be back!

Great weekend getaway
This is a very clean and tidy little property with everything I needed for a self-catering stay. Athenree is an extremely peaceful and laid back place, de-stress was instant. Very friendly and responsive hosts, before and during my stay. Loved the hot pools down the road.

Lovely weekend away. Such a great space, so well set out and everything you could need! Made extra special by being able to have our dog stay with us. Fully fenced yard for peace of mind. So close to Waihi beach and Bowentown.

Thanks for staying. Milk comments noted. Although we provide basic's we recommend our guests bring there own supplies. Any guest caught out we invite to let us know and we are happy to provide some.

King's Birthday Weekend
Loved the decor and tranquil setting. Great entertainment area to relax and bbq with the soothing sound of the water feature in the background. Short and pleasant stroll to the bay and hot springs. Fenced off area gave us peace of mind that our little furbaby was safe. Sue was quick to respond to our texts. We will definitely be back. 🏡

Great Unit and Hosts.
The unit was very clean and functional, as well new and private. Short drive to Waihi Beach, but located in very quiet Athenree (which was great - away from the crowds). Also, hosts were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
