Casita at Sandcastle villa

The Casita has a comfortable bed, good storage space and a great shower and AC. The kitchen is outside which we only used for breakfast and a salad for dinner. It's close to the main town with many restaurants and food trucks.The grocery stores were pretty dismal since everything needs to be brought over from the mainland. The pool is refreshing, but keep in mind that it is shared with owners.The property manager, Ron was awesome. He checked in every day and was a wealth of knowledge.

Beautiful property with view of the ocean

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! Although the room itself is small, it is wonderfully open and breezy, and has its own bathroom, sink area and indoor shower. There is a lot of common area to enjoy, including an outdoor shower and bathroom, kitchen, patio, and a lovely pool. Lots of great spots to sit and enjoy the tropical ambiance. Ron, the manager, was very helpful and responsive. Easy to get to town and beaches. FYI, there IS a microwave in the kitchen. And we were visited frequently by the friendly local dog, cat, and chicken.

Great get-away!

We really enjoyed this property. The Casita is very spacious, the outdoor kitchen was fun since we haven't ever used one. Excellent pool, and the ocean is just across the street, very quiet and relaxing. Ron was super to deal with. He suggested things to do in the area, always available to speak with. The homeowners were there, but we would only meet in passing, and they were very nice people. We highly suggest this property.

We had a wonderful time! Ron the property manager was fantastic! It is a great place to stay. We were disappointed that kayaks are in the listing and there weren’t any. That was important to us and one of the main reasons we chose this property.

Great Winter Respite

Very nice property with excellent communication and hospitality from Ron (property manager). Lovely room with good a/c. Beautiful pool. Indoor/outdoor shower excellent. Outdoor kitchen very nice for breakfast and snacks. Beautiful pool. Great beach gear for use. Private beach a very short walk across the street. Please be aware that you are not renting a fully private property. Rental is a casita (not the main house) and the owners are present and visible during your stay (including passing through common area while we were eating breakfast at outside kitchen and while we were lounging at pool). Would have given 5 stars if truly private.

Paradise

Everything about Villa Sandcastle is incredible – the casita is clean, comfortable, and has everything you need to feel at home. The property, pool, and outdoor kitchen encourages you to be outside 24/7. And the beach, oh man the beach, you are steps away from an island paradise that you'll never want to leave. The owners, Gil and Jackie, are lovely and welcoming and give you all the privacy you'd want. And Ron, the caretaker, is a gem who made sure we had everything we could possibly need, and his restaurant/beach suggestions were impeccable every time. This place is amazing, we'll be back and I'll be thinking of it until we return.

Amazing place

Fantastic property with great views of the ocean. Beautifully landscaped pool area. Amazing large infinity pool that gets up to 6 feet deep, but considerable shallow section too. Everything was very clean. The casita is just a bedroom and bathroom like a hotel room, but the outdoor space is gigantic! Lovely outdoor kitchen with dishwasher and fridge. No oven, but there is a gas grill. Good laundry facilities. Nice outdoor shower and bathroom to rinse off. You can fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves. Very close to a small, semi-private beach. Great location near town (nothing on Vieques is more than 30 minutes drive, and many things are less than 10). Ron, the caretaker, met us when we arrived and showed us around, and he was very responsive with recommendations and local happenings. The casita is locked with a key code, so we didn't have to worry about a key on our beach days. The owners went out of their way to ensure our privacy during our stay; we were the only ones on the entire property. The AC in the casita worked really well, and the wifi was excellent throughout the property. We used their snorkeling equipment and beach chairs throughout our stay. They also had two kayaks.

Everything we wanted & more! Beautiful Island Villa

Paradise!

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay at the lovely Sandcastle Villas for 5 days and loved every moment. The casita was very clean, comfortable, and had ocean views from the private balcony. The villa is in a great location: away from the noisier, bustling Esperanza but just 5 minutes from the airport and 8 minutes away from Isabel Segunda. Ron was our gracious caretaker and was just a quick text away if we needed anything. We only saw Jackie (the homeowner) once or twice and she was absolutely lovely. We would not stay anywhere else in Vieques!

Beautiful casita in paradise

The casita is exactly as shown and you couldn’t ask for more. The location is great, steps away from the beach and with great ocean views at every turn. It’s close to the airport, Isabel Segunda, and a host of amazing beaches. Ron met us to give us a tour and go over the logistics of the place. The homeowners were there but they went out of their way to give us privacy and the pool and outdoor kitchen were all ours. Also the rental came with beach chairs, snorkels, towels, coolers, umbrellas, and everything you need to enjoy the beach. Having a laundry room also helped us to pack light. We had a glorious stay in Vieques - paradise on earth. Thanks Jackie and Gil!

Just about everything anyone could ask for. Privacy, secluded beach, pool and great outdoor kitchen! Wild horses frequent the field beside the property and an occasional cat will stop by for a snack (made it feel homey)! Ron the property manager was very accommodating and picked us up from airport upon our arrival and was kind enough to pick up our luggage at the VRBO and picked us up at FUN BROTHERS (scooter rental) to take us back to airport for departure!

Lovely property - absolutely perfect

My wife and I stayed at Sandcastle Villas in one of the casitas and it was a wonderful stay. Very quiet and private area, so relaxing. The outdoor kitchen was awesome and every day we had breakfast by the pool as the flat top griddle plate allowed for eggs, pancakes, etc. to be cooked. Full sized fridge and coffee maker too. Also gas grill was available for use. Outdoor shower near pool was nice. In room A/C (we only used briefly and with windows closed, ceiling fan, television with US and local stations, nice shower and bathroom area. Bed was very comfortable and we fell asleep to gentle breezes and tranquility every night. Hosts were extremely polite and gracious. Ron, the home's caretaker, greeted us at the property and showed us around. He briefed us on local restaurants, snorkel spots, island history, and navigation. He was always available to answer questions and very helpful making our stay even that much more pleasant. Beach chairs, coolers, and equipment were available for use and the outdoor pool was so refreshing looking out toward Isabel Segunda and further in the distance, the island of Culebra. We could not have asked for a better time. The property is just a few minutes from the airport due east on the northern side of the island. I preferred this over the southern side (Esperanza) as it was more low key and peaceful (IMO). An amazing property with awesome hosts. We appreciated every moment we had at Sandcastle Villas.

Perfect location on Vieques

This was a fantastic place to stay on Vieques. It was in an upscale neighborhood, a gated community with guards. The beach was a very short walk across the street. We enjoyed the beach, but the water was a bit rough for swimming. House is close to the airport as well as a golf cart rental business (walkable). It was a 10-minute golf cart ride to town, and 15-minute ride to Esperanza. I was a little confused about the setup of the "casita". There is a main house and a long patio with the two "casitas" on the right. There is a very well-equipped kitchen on the patio, at the end closest to the main house. There was also a washer and dryer to use, which was terrific! There are chairs, snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, etc. for your use. The only thing I would caution potential guests is that the main house is right there, and if you use the pool etc., the owners are in very close proximity. As luck would have it, they left the first morning of our stay and we did not see them again. But if they are in residence, you might not get a lot of privacy. The house was extremely well-kept and maintained. The caretakers were very attentive and fixed a tv issue we had pretty quickly. We didn't have to turn on the a/c once, as the breezes kept everything at a nice temperature. Bathroom was great, with hot water as needed. There are two "casitas" (essentially bedrooms with private baths), separated by an outdoor shower and bathroom (for pool usage). All in all, it was a fantastic location and a wonderful stay.

Perfect getaway spot in paradise

Jackie's house is little a jewel with a private pool, amazing views and steps to a semi-private beach. The house and property are extremely well cared for and equipped with everything you need to spend the day at the beach: beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrellas, snorkels and more. The outdoor kitchen had all we needed to make simple breakfasts before we explored Vieques and the outdoor shower helped us minimize the sand we brought back from the beach. Can’t wait for another opportunity to stay again and escape to paradise!

This place is everything and then some! We had the most wonderful stay at Jackie and Gill's. Perfect location - not too far from airport, car rental, right on a beach, short drive to town and other side of the island. Our hosts were so helpful and our accommodations 5-star. Cannot recommend this place enough. Checked out many other lodging options and nothing compares.

Simply Beautiful

I was hesitant to booking this property due to the price compared to others on the island, but after exploring the island for a week I am so happy that I chose this Villa. Jackie picked us up at the airport as planned and gave us a tour of her amazing Villa in paradise. We spent many days staying at the Villa because it was so comfortable. THE Place to stay if you are going to be in Vieques

OMG, OMG. O...M...G!!!! This place was awesome. The owners met us as soon as we landed and checked us in. They then took us to the rental car location and gave us a map with places highlighted to go snorkeling or just lounging about. (For the record this house is SHORT walking distance to a private beach. My wife and I loved going out there, snorkeling around, and just looking at everything. We took flashlights out one night and watched the crabs, so that was cool too. The owner was super communicative and nice. There is an outdoor kitchen which I cooked breakfast in every morning. (**Note** there is not an microwave or oven, but there is a Weber grill which, if you know how to use one, will do just about anything you need it to do.) The pool was beautiful and we spent many an hour just relaxing and taking everything in. Seriously, can't recommend this place enough. It is so quiet and serene, that there are times you feel you're the only person on the island. Thank you so much Jackie and Gill!!

RELAXING COMFORTABLE HEAVEN !!!!!

If you want a very mature, comfortable, heavenly, away from your norm back home, and paradise found setting .....LOOK NO MORE. There are no words to describe the love and hospitality that was given to us by the unbelievable host Jackie !! if you ever wonder when you go to a hotel or anywhere you book a stay, you always wonder if everything will be in its right place according to your personal liking ...specifications...etc.....well need i say more .....your Casita is set with all amenities to your liking no matter what culture /country you come from.......this is above excellence !! you have cleanliness ....you have all the pillows perfect ....plenty of soap ..... a wonderful air conditioner for those who cant stand a little warm temp outside....you also have a high-end fan hanging over you in the Casita if you want the sea breeze cross wind massaging your body as you relax from a crazy day of excursions on the island.....the sexy pool is wonderful .....and you have an outside shower outside your Casita to shower your sandy body from your short walk from your private beach. The bathroom inside your Casita is everything out of magazine, high ceilings and shower spout...... Enjoying the outside kitchen and bar was so amazing . This amenity was to die for. All cooking appliances you need are all there for your comfort .....blenders ....flat plug in skillet ...coffee pots ....dish washer..refridge & freezer ....just simply AMAZING !!! Remember the kitchen bar sits next to your sexy pool !! This is a gated community .....security is and all peace of mind is taken care of as well..... The perfect island getaway!

This place is heavenly! It is a gorgeous, well-maintained, lush property, right across the street from the ocean, the pool is AMAZING, and Jackie and Gil couldn't be lovelier or more helpful. STUNNING!!!

This property has to be one of the most beautifully landscaped on the island. It is immaculately kept outside and in. We loved the porch and bar/kitchen area. The Casita was comfortable and beautiful. It is like staying at your own private resort. It is situated in a safe quiet neighborhood close to all the beaches and restaurants - and just steps away from a nice private beach - great place to go with your morning coffee. Amazing rental and great hosts! Highly recommend!

The property is beautiful. If you wanted to have your whole vacation by the pool with views of the ocean and resident wild horses you could. The room was comfortable, and the outdoor kitchen was very convenient. The location is a short drive to Isabel ( with nice restaurants), the Mosquito Pier and some really wonderful beaches. Jackie and Gil are great hosts- so helpful, hospitable and kind. We definitely recommend this place to others and feel lucky to have found it.
