Tolles Chateau mit seesicht!
Eine solche perfekte Begrüssung, das Zimmer ready, gross, sauber, ein bequemes bett, ein riesen bad, tolle Aussicht auf den See….wir haben hier eine wunderbare und ruhige Nacht verbracht. Können dieses chateau nur empfehlen!!!

Great view and a perfect hotel
It was the perfect holiday location for us. The rooms are stunning and huge, the employees were very friendly and helpful, the restaurant with a German touch was excellent and the garden was beautiful. The pool was great to relax in after a day in the Okanagan heat.

We really enjoyed our night at The Castle. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We also ate at the in house restaurant, and it was delicious. Would definitely come back!

The hotel is really well-designed. The property is simply amazing, built on a hillside and quite unique.The room was large, clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked. We were early to arrive (about 2) by motorcycle and told the room was not ready. No problem, we were invited to wait on the property but it would have been nice to be told when it was ready. Only the next person on shift let us know when we asked for an update around 3:15. Everything was 5 stars except for that first contact in reception where it sure sounded like we were waiting till 4pm, no exceptions. This was an Expedia "VIP booking" and that initial check-in was not. The rest of the experience, including the restaurant was excellent.

I feel like I perhaps did not experience The Castle at its best, but I would be willing to try again. Being a weeknight in shoulder season, there evidently weren't many rooms booked, and I was quite surprised that there would not be any overnight staff. I was in the main building adjacent to the parking lot, and although there is a nice view, it is immediately above highway 97, and it was LOUD. There are buildings further back and up a hill, and I imagine these ones are quieter (and would have an even better view of the lake). Room was spacious and very clean, but all wooden furniture showed many signs of wear. I also went to the restaurant, which came highly recommended, but was a bit of a lacklustre experience. Again, I think it is due to shoulder season - I was the only diner the entire time, the soup (though tasty) arrived with a bit of a skin on the top and was very thick, implying it had sat for some time, and the med bread was overly doused in balsamic, making me think the main chef may have had a night off (which is certainly allowed!). All in all, I might try The Castle again if in the area, but my experience did not measure up to the expectations I had from the listing.

I am sorry for your disappointment.Yes, the highway is very unfortunate and when this hotel was built it wasn't a 4 lane and merging highway above it. The second building only has a view of the pool or courtyard, unfortunately you do not see the lake from that building.As for the room furniture our excellent maintenance staff are always refinishing things. I will take a peak at what room you stayed in and have them assess what needs refinishing or bought new. We have a live in Building Superintendent that always has the phone on him in case of emergencies or late check ins, lost key cards and so on. I am sorry the Intermezzo restaurant didn't meet your expectations. They lease from us and we have no say in what they serve or the times they are open. I will be forwarding your concerns to them though right away.We hope you give us another chance in the near future.

The stay was overall okay. The beds were memory foam which I find very uncomfortable as they don’t support your back at all. I also felt less comfortable after reading their sticker on the bathroom mirror saying to use their makeup remover wipes as all stains on linens will be charged to you as a guest. I don’t use chemicals on my face, first of all so I didn’t need your wipes. It’s more about the principle of the matter, you get a stain on a towel or the bedsheets and they charge you? What if you got your period in the night and didn’t realize it? Use some bleach and stain remover and clean your linens without making guests feel uncomfortable with your passive aggressive post it notes. Especially for what they are charging, that just seems unnecessary and unprofessional.

Hello there,We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with feedback about stay. I am very sorry that several things throughout your stay did not meet your expectations. Please note that your concerns have been passed on to our management. We only charge our guests for stain damage if we cannot get it out of the linens or towels and not being able to use it again. We let our guests know this before hand as a policy. We have found that makeup stains usually do not come off of the linens/towels. Which is why we provide our guests with paraben-free biodegradable makeup wipes for their use. We do hope you give us another chance as we will definitely improve our services.

We stay at the same time every year, and there has been the same issue for the past couple of years: the septic needs to be pumped sooner. We were affected by the smell when we were having dinner at the Bistro, as we could smell the septic system (feces) during dinner. In addition, the toilet in our room would not flush, and had to be plunged -- in itself an ordeal as there is only one plunger for the entire complex. Every room should have a plunger.

As for our septic, it is done between 10am and 2pm. it is never done while the restaurant is open. This time of year the fields surrounding Vernon are being heavily sprayed with fertilizer, since we are on the outskirts and near these fields this can affect us as well.

The property and rooms are very nice extremely spacious. We got a VIP bottle of wine in our room but unfortunately the room only had one wine glass and it wasn’t very clean so I had to wash it I don’t like the fact that they take a $200 deposit and it doesn’t go right back on the card afterwards most hotels release the hold and it shows up immediately. They say it’s the credit card but if it’s the credit card that would happen all the time, the whole amount seems excessive if it was $5100 like most hotels then I could handle a little bit better. The girl at the front desk was nice but not overly friendly. She sped out the instructions kind of like rules. She made it very clear that I would be charged five dollars for the two room keys. She gave me if I didn’t return them. Also, there is a note in the washroom saying that if you dirty their linens or towels that you will get an extra charge they do provide make up wipes, which was very convenient. As nice as the hotel was, I doubt I would stay there again just because of the credit card hold alone.

The unit was clean and comfortable. We had no issues checking in and the staff was very friendly. We appreciated how private the unit felt and we had no issues with noise from other rooms. The only negative we had was the kitchen didn’t have any cooking sheets and we brought food to prepare in the oven.

Hotel was easy to get to and offered lots of parking. The area was quiet except for the traffic from the highway. However that seemed to quiet right down at night. The kitchenette was well stocked and very convenient. The soaker tubs were nice and the facility was overall very clean. Would certainly stay again.

Swan Lake Castle stay
A beautiful location with very nice and comfortable rooms. Our only complaint was that the hot tub jets were not working and the restaurant was closed. Overall, terrific stay!

Hello Ken,Thank you for the rating and review. We are happy that that our rooms were comfortable for you. Our hot tub's jets suddenly stopped working on February 12. We thought it was a minor issue but we still contacted the necessary repair team to take a look at it. We have been letting our guests know during check-in that the tub is operational but the jets do not work. We really apologize for the inconvenience. The restaurant on this property is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but their downtown location is open everyday. I hope you will give us another chance for your next stay.

Front staff were amazing, friendly and informative. The room was very clean, had everything for us. We did have a small temper-tantrum do to the hot tub not being fully fuctional while we were on a multi day ski trip. We feel management should be always on top of that when it is a critical filter for us when we choose our booking. The restaurant on site is absolutely perfect, ambiance, food, and service was was the highlight to a wonderful stay.

Hello Shawn,Thank you for the perfect rating and detailed review. Our hot tub's jets suddenly stopped working on February 12. We thought it was a minor issue but we still contacted the necessary repair team to take a look at it. We have been letting our guests know during check-in that the tub is operational but the jets do not work. We really apologize for the inconvenience. I hope you will give us another chance for your next stay.
