Extrem laut, lange Reaktionszeiten bei Rezeption
Wir waren für 2 Nächte in diesem Hotel. Die erste Nacht hat hat der Gast im benachbarten Apartment-Zimmer bis 2 Uhr nachts seine Wäsche gewaschen und getrocknet!! Als ich um Mitternacht bei der Rezeption anrief, sagte man mir lediglich, man könne da leider nichts machen. Vielen Dank auch für die Hilfe!!! Am Morgen danach habe ich die Situation nochmals gemeldet, das Management werde sich melden hiess es. Am Abend ein drittes Mal nachgefragt, wurde mitgeteilt, dass man uns entgegenkommt und zudem das Parking nicht zu zahlen sei. Was wir sehr begrüssten, da wir sehr schlecht geschlafen haben und unser Zimmer ja auch bezahlt haben. Das Parking wurde dann nach Abreise trotzdem verrechnet!! Musste mich nochmals melden von unterwegs und erst dann wurde es rückerstattet. Bei der Ausbildung des Rezeptionspersonals gibts noch Luft nach oben! Und Apartementzimmer sollten von 23.00-07.00 Uhr keine Wäsche machen dürfen!! Die Wände sind dünn, wie Papier. Schall und Vibrationen verursachen einen wahnsinnigen Lärm, sodass an Schlaf nicht zu denken ist. Sehr schade. Lage ist sehr gut. Gedeckte Parkplätze sind kostenpflichtig vorhanden.

ein gut gelegenes Stadthotel
Wir wurden freundlich empfangen. Das Zimmer war zweckmässig ok. Die Türen knallen dermassen zu, dass es einem fast aus dem Bett haut, wenn der Nachbar das Zimmer verlässt. Parkplätze stehen zur Verfügung. De Lage ist sehr gut.

Gute Lage, moderne Ausstattung
Das Hotel wirkt auf den Bildern etwas hochwertiger. Dennoch waren die Zimmer sehr sauber und die Ausstattung sehr komfortabel. Zentrale Lage, wenige Gehminuten zum Hafen und viele Restaurants/Cafes in der Nähe!

Das Hotel ist gut gelegen, an einer Strasse mit mehreren Restaurants in South Townsville. Der Strand und die Stadt wie auch die Ferrystation sind in Gehdistanz.

+ Grosses , sauberes Zimmer. Bequeme Betten. Freundliches Personal. Gratis Parkplatz draussen. Für innenplätze muss zusätzlich gezahlt werden. Viele gute Restaurants in der nahen Umgebung. - kein gratis WLAN, was für mich heutzutage eigentlich dazu gehören sollte. Klimaanlage sehr stark auch auf der schwächsten Stufe. Im Bett liegt man direkt im Luftstrom.

genau in der Nähe einiger guter Restaurants. Downtown in rund 10 min zu Fuss erreichbar. Leider kein kostenfreies W-LAN, aber Townsville bietet ein solches im Zentrum gratis an.

Freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal an der Rezeption. Gute zentrale Lage in der Nähe von tollem mexikanischen Restaurant (Jack Kaktus). Saubere Zimmer. Schöner kleiner Pool welcher jedoch ein wenig schattig ist. Was uns fehlte war eine Waschküche.

Nicht umsonst ist das Grand Hotel die Nr. 1 in Townsville. Es bietet einen erstklassigen Service. Angefangen beim Empfang, der sehr freundlich und professionell auftritt. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und bieten einen sehr guten Komfort. Essmöglichkeiten bieten sich gleich um die Ecke in ausreichender Anzahl. Wir kommen gerne wieder; zumal das P/L-Verhältnis sehr gut ist.

The staff at reception were very courteous & friendly. We arrived earlier than expected and they were happy to ask housekeeping to clean our room as a priority so we could check in early. Nice, clean room. Comfortable bed. Great restaurants nearby.

Great location
Booked in last minute the morning after Cyone Kirralee crossed the coast and you would not have known more than half of Townsville had no power. The staff were efficient at checkin considering some had no power themselves at home. I had requested online if we could have a high floor and upon check in this was confirmed. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite which was roomy with a decent size balcony. If the football had of been on we would have been able to see people in the stands. The pillow menu is a must. Choice of regular, latex or feather down. Once chosen delivered to door with 10min. There is no restaurant onsite but close enough to walk to plenty of options. Rooms are very quiet and blockout curtains are great for a sleep in The only negative is the step in bath/ shower. Someone older with less mobility would have issues getting in as it is quite high.

We booked this through an app. Stayed one night on a grandparents/grandchildren brief trip. Booking: Easy, informative and straightforward. Check-in: Check-in was a great start to our stay. The front office staff were friendly, polite, professional and efficient. Could not ask for a better indication of an enjoyable stay. We were not dissapointed. Room: The room was a one bedroom apartment with a double bed in living room. The room was spotlessy clean and in excellent condition. The kitchen had a good sized fridge and all the amenities needed, plus more. Further the was quiet with regards to outside noise, etc. The bed was comfortable and a good nights sleep was had. Car park: An undercover car park was available. Check-out: Check-out was straight forward with no delays. Hotel Staff: To both front office and housekeeping, thank you as you ensured our stay was an enjoyable and memorable one. Location: Whether in Townsville for business or leisure, this accommodation is a stones throw from the CBD and located in the middle of some great cafes and restaurants.

Overnight with dinner getaway.
Great spacious size room with kitchen and seperate bedroom. Also enjoyed a balcony setting. Many Restaurants within meteres with relaxed outdoor dining or air conditioned seating. Good undercover or just gated security parking. I’m not a tall person so found getting into shower within a bath tub a bit or a leap and always worry about slipping. But overall enjoy our short stay. Friendly staff. Will stay again.

Very nice hotel to stay at and conveniently located. Clean and comfortable. Need to book direct for free parking otherwise chargeable. Strong sunshine in morning cannot be blocked out since fixed desk is in the way. Definitely recommended as a very good place to stay!

Poor service and facilities
Extremely disappointed.. I have been staying at the Grand for many years and I won’t be back. Noisy fridge, aircon and the entry handle to my room was broken. I was held to ransome with $50 parking addional and then they wanted an extra $40 for 12 checkout..The staff weren’t very helpful…I won’t be staying there again

Property was clean & comfortable and staff were pleasant and helpful with any of our concerns. However, there never seemed to be hot water for a shower morning or evening. The concept of having to pay a $250 bond (card only, no cash) on top of advanced payment of room did seem odd to me.

We stayed for the week whilst my husband has chemo. The day we checked in we rang reception as the tv wasn’t working, was told it was a hotel wide problem and never fixed. Then on the second last day we came home from hospital to find out there wasn’t any water for hours. Once the water was back on there wasn’t any hot water. Rang reception and was told to leave tap running untill hot came through, left it running for an hour and still nothing at 10pm (no shower for the family). Again in the morning rang reception as there wasn’t any hot water, was told to just leave the tap running again. Another half an hour later and still not hot water. Reception staff very unhelpful and told me there was nothing she could do. Having a patient to take to hospital without a hot shower is disgusting. Very disappointed in how the situation was handled.
