Frühstückbuffet war sehr reichhaltig und gut, der einzige Pluspunkt. Zentrale Lage des Hotels war uns sehr wichtig. Leider im Zimmer dreckige Teppiche und Vorhänge und Fenster. Praktisch alles war defekt, auch der Wasserhahn im Bad. Verfleckte Wände. Seh schlechter miefiger Geruch im Zimmer. Klimaanlage tönte wie ein Traktor

Das einzig Positive: Lage und Frühstück
Das "Hotel" sieht von aussen gut aus, aber die Zimmer sind eine Katastrophe, es riecht unangenehm, ist super abgewohnt, null Komfort , die Bettlaken sind in einem ekligen tabakgelb auf einer mit Plastik überzogenen Matratze. Die einzigen positiven Aspekte sind die super zentrale Lage und das gute Frühstück.

Wir haben lediglich eine Nacht im o. g. Hotel übernachtet. Das Hotelzimmer war spartanisch eingerichtet. Man merkte, dass das Hotel gleichzeitig ein Studentenwohnheim ist. Dennoch war alles ok für eine Nacht.

Student residence without TV and with old towels
This house is a student residence, not a hotel. We expected something different. There is no TV in the room and the towels are very used. Best thing was the location downtown. But we would not go there again. Breakfast was ok.

Als ''Chestnut Residence and Conference Centre'', wird die Unterkunft den Reisenden, auf zahlreichen Homepagen angepriesen. Bei unserem Eintreffen mussten wir jedoch feststellen, dass die Unterkunft, ein ins Alter gekommenes Studentenwohnheim ist und bei weitem nicht dem entspricht, was man erwartet. Platzmässig sind die Zimmer teilweise geräumig, weisen aber massive Wohnspuren auf, sind schmudelig, etc. Jegliche Art von Unterhaltungselektronik, sind in den Zimmern nicht aufzufinden. WLAN ist im ganzen Gebäude nicht möglich. Die Sauberkeit war sehr verheerend! Schmutz von vorherigen Gästen waren im Zimmer zu finden! Unsere Beanstandungen, bezüglich Sauberkeit unseres Zimmers, bei unserer Ankunft, sowie täglich morgens und abends, wurde vom Personal an der Reception jedes Mal sehr erstaunt entgegengenommen, hatten aber keine Verbesserungen der Situation zur Folge! Bei jeder Reklamation wurden wir vom Personal an der Reception belehrt, dass dies eine Studentenresidence sei und kein Hotel. Bei unserem Aufenthalt wurden wir jedoch auch von anderen Gästen auf die Sauberkeit angesprochen. Da die Zimmerauslastung in Toronto zu diesem Zeitpunkt sehr hoch war, war es uns nicht möglich, einen für uns akzeptablen wechsel der Unterkunft vor zu nehmen.

Had a great stay during Caribana weekend. The rooms were decent and the hot water was great. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. They hotel provides you with complimentary breakfast for everyday of your stay. There were no Tv’s in the rooms but the beds were decent and clean. The hotel is in the heart of downtown and up the block from the eaton center mall. I would recommend staying at this hotel

Great location
I really liked the service all the staff were really friendly and welcoming. One security guard obviously had a chip on their shoulder and was rude (all the others were polite would smile or say hello). Really liked the room, however it smelt like someone had smoked previously in it. The maintenance staff sprayed industrial freshener but within a few hours it smelt the same. Great location and parking was affordable.

My rating is based on the condition of the room. Outlets didn’t work, water in the bathroom spit and sputtered, there was a red stain quite big on the curtains that looked like blood. There was hair in the tub and sink and toilet area. Not very clean at all.

Know what you are in for
This is a bare bones summer hotel in a university residence. It's inexpensive in the heart of downtown Toronto, so if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room then this hotel is suitable. You'll get the bare necessities: A bed (with a lumpy mattress, perhaps), basic toiletries, and very thin bath towels. There is air conditioning. Breakfast. There are hair dryers. There is even an ancient pants press in the closet. There's a desk and chair. Free wi-fi. Paid parking. What you won't get: Coat hangers. Iron and ironing board. Peace and quiet because downtown Toronto is very loud. The walls are paper thing so you'll hear your neighbours (bring earplugs!) No TV. No safe.

The hotel is in a good location which is convenient to access to shopping, dining, and sightseeing. The facility is in mid-range condition which is matched to the price. Breakfast is provided. However, the service of the lady collecting breakfast cards is terrible, more specifically, she is discriminated in giving reminder in “dining only, no take out”. Although she convinced that she would say that to everyone. I have observed her and it's not the case. She even didn't say it to myself on the day when I didn't bring backpack and lined up with a group of people who she may assumed she doesn't need to. Her selective reminder basically is just unfair, bias, and DISCRIMINATED, cause especially based on her self assumption on who she selects to remind.

Great location. The property is located behind new city hall. Easy access to transport, shopping, restaurants, Chinatown and Eaton centre. Breakfast is a big bonus with a variety of choices. Coin washing machines are available at Level C.
