South Swell Tofino (formerly Blue Heron) Waterfront home amid old growth cedars

South Swell (formerly Blue Heron Guest House) is a 3 bedroom custom built home overlooking Jensen's Bay in Tofino. Exceptional wood detailing, skylights, vaulted ceilings, private hot tub and gas fireplace.

An inlet waterfront retreat situated on 1.5 acres overlooking Jensen's Bay. A 5 minute walk from South Chesterman Beach, Jensen's Bay is a significant flyway for migratory birds.

A seating area at water's edge is a great place enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the early morning and a perfect vantage point for sighting eagles, herons and other bird species. Occasionally you may spot a bear foraging across the tidal flats.

Towering cedars complement the property. Other wood was milled and transformed into the home's posts and beams. Chesterman Beach is ideally located a 5 minute walk for surfing, beach combing, dog walks or an early evening stroll to take in the iconic West Coast sunsets.

Tofino is 5km away and accessed by road or a well maintained, paved multi-use pathway. The path connects Tofino and the town of Ucluelet and provides ready access to beaches and Pacific Rim National Park.

Just up the road (1184 Pacific Rim Hwy) is a collection of shops for groceries, yoga, surf rentals, great local food (Wildside Grill & Tacofino), coffee/espresso/baked goods (The Tofitian) and chocolate .....Tofino style. The town of Tofino is a short drive (5 km) so a car would be ideal. In summer, a free (and surfboard friendly!) shuttle service runs between Tofino and Cox Bay. You can hop on and off at several points along the route, including 2 stops close by.

This rental is perfect for a quiet retreat or family vacation - ideally suited for 4-6 guests.

Perfect on all accounts...
South Swell in Tofino is a perfect getaway for people wishing to escape into the wild natural habitat of the Pacific Northwest. The house is nicely appointed and it is within 5 minutes walk to beautiful Chesterman beach. I cant say enough good things about Kelly, the property's host and owner. We had some very complicated situations within our family with people arriving from overseas and the uncertainty surrounding this. She was very understanding and accommodating, which took a huge amount of stress off our booking at her place. We are very appreciative for all this. Thank you Kelly!

The house was fantastic, set among ancient cedars. The setting was very private with all the vegetation and the location was very quiet. It was a very short walk to Chesterman Beach - a fantastic sandy beach - a short drive to the miles of sand at Long Beach. The host is fantastic and very responsible. Fantastic stay
This property is very comfortable - very clean, all amenities are there and then some, such as beach towels and a wagon to take to the beach (which is less than five minutes walk away). The property is on a lovely, quiet inlet. So a peaceful getaway during busy Tofino months. Terrific Experience - a trip highlight
This space has everything you could need and more. The communal gathering spaces (deck, kitchen, living room) accommodated everyone and allowed us to prepare meals and enjoy them together all while maintaining conversation and being social. The greenery around the home offers ample seclusion, so much so we often found ourselves forgetting there's an attached home - great design that prioritizes privacy for both sides of the home. The hot tub was a real treat, and bear prints on the shoreline! 10/10 - will check this listing before others when we return.

This was the third or fourth time we've come to stay at Blue Heron/South Swell and we had a great time. The home is so comfortable and nice, and we love the new outdoor shower! This is the best appointed kitchen I've ever had while renting, and loved spending cool rainy evenings in the hot tub. Hopefully we'll be back soon!

Relaxing Getaway
My family and I had a very peaceful stay at the Blue Heron house this May long weekend. The house was very spacious, clean, and had all the amenities we needed. Our host Kelly responded quickly to messages and was very accommodating, she even let us know that the cleaning crew was finished early, so we could check in a little early. The hot tub was great, but I think the outdoor shower was one of favorite perks. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

This was our first time visiting Tofino and the Blue Heron was a great location to check out all the surrounding sites. Right across from Chesterman Beach, you can't really beat location, especially if your surfing. House was clean and well laid out. The inlet was very cool, my sons had fun playing in the mud or watching the tide come in. Hot tub was a bonus.
