„The property is spacious, beautifully decorated and in a peaceful, rural setting. Beds were super comfy and the owners were on hand, not that we needed them, the place has everything you need and more. Its situated a short drive from plenty of pubs restaurants and lovely forest walks. The listing said there was a pub within a mile, I must have missed it but its only a couple of miles from Dalbeattie. Would definitely stay again.“

„The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed. A minor niggle, but it was a bit cluttered with cushions and throws in the sitting room - the throws just slid off the leather sofas and the cushions were too big and too many, so were surplus to requirements. The location suited us very well, with a host of lovely walks and places to visit nearby. We had a wonderful break and can recommend!“

„I found this property when we had to move out earlier than planed for renovation works to our house. On arrival we were all stunned at the beauty on the gardens , the wild life, the fact we appear to be the only guests. Staff were amazing as i had 1 night were we had no where to staff, and staff were able to accommodate us. If you are looking for peace tranquillity i would highly recommend this place. „We had a lovely time in the cottage. It was only a few days because we were on a tour, but we didn't miss anything. It is nicely furnished and everything you need was there. The garden is completely fenced in, so it's absolutely great for dogs. The pretty garden is across the street where you can sit when the weather is good.“

„Warm and cozy sleeping with the shutters and curtains drawn. Respect the house, switch on the pump if you light the fire, and yes I loved the wood smoke smells, it is mostly round the fire, if the fire is only embers you can switch off the pump, it's circulating the hot water from the fire, I was able to see local interests and the wonderful fresh air, excellent countryside. The ruin of Carmicheal House makes me wonder at its one time beauty, and it's just a short walk to from the cottage, ...
