„Wie seid Jahren schon diverse Dinge die immer wieder negativ auffallen: Dünne Wände, kein Wasserdruck in der Dusche, lose Armaturen, sehr einfaches Frühstück (und z.B. Toaster schlecht eingestellt oder kaputt), Temperatur im Zimmer entweder zu kalt oder zu warm (dieses Mal zu warm), zu wenig Parkplätze - ich könnte unendlich weiter machen...“

„Classy Hotel in an 18th Century Georgian architectural landmark which was saved by the Hotel Company. Went there first on a rushed business trip and went back half a year later to enjoy it finally with my partner. The pool is warm and not exactly for a sporty swimmer, but is nice with the opportunity to swim outdoors. Beds and Breakfast are excellent and up to the price. After finding the south of England more and more crowded, the Peak District is an area I was happy to discover.“

The ambience is almost 'Dowtonesque' without any of the pretentiousness or snobbery. They even have a beautiful Blüthner grand piano in the sitting room.
