Papatū Lodge is a spacious five-bedroom retreat set within pristine bush on the shores of Lake Taupō. Positioned within a 24-hectare (59 acre) residential estate called Whakamoenga Point, you will be based just 12 minutes drive from the town of Taupō. From this private setting, enjoy world-class views and immediate access to the emerald-blue freshwater lake.



You might wish to swim or kayak to the Maori rock carvings below, fish for trout off the flat rocks or go for a bush walk. Inside, the Lodge is at once welcoming and stylish. With a nod to its local Kiwi heritage, the property is equipped to ensure your stay offers maximum comfort and class. Accommodates up to 10 guests across five bedrooms and four bathrooms, with flexible bedding configurations that suit families, extended groups, or friends travelling together. An open plan kitchen, dining table and living room form the heart of the home, while the upstairs and downstairs layout gives the group room to spread out and settle in.



As part of the Whakamoenga Point estate, guests have access to double tennis courts, extensive walking tracks, the beach at Mine Bay and two private boat ramps — a rare convenience for those wanting to explore the Lake by water or heli pad. With Taupō just 10km away, the Waikato region's restaurants, hot pools, and outdoor adventures are easily within reach.

House Rules and Information:



Parking: On the driveway in front of the house. The garage has been converted to be a recreation space: table tennis table, darts, tennis racquets, stand-up paddle board (SUP) and two kayaks that guests are welcome to use. Storage of guests' bikes, golf clubs and other equipment can also be kept here.



Pets: This property is not pet-friendly.



Linen included – we are a holiday home management company and professionally launder all linen. We do not offer the option for guests to bring their own linen as we wish to ensure that the mattresses and pillows are always covered with protectors.



Cleaning: Exit clean included in the nightly rate.



Parties/events/noise: No parties or events. Please keep noise to a minimum after 9pm out of respect for neighbours.



Smoking/vaping: No smoking or vaping inside the property.



Payment note: A 2.9% surcharge is charged on all credit/debit card transactions.



Minimum age to book: You must be 25 years or older to make a booking.
