Personal in der Gastronomie super. Check in sehr hektisch. Der Rezeptionist machte sehr viele Sachen gleichzeitig und wollte einfach nur schnell fertig werden. Sehr gute Cocktails. Insgesamt ist es für den Service und Standard etwas zu teuer.

toller Ausblick
Die Auffahrt ist steil, aber geteert. Das Personal hilfsbereit, die Einrichtung dunkel und altmodisch aber edel. Das Essen ist mäßig, aber der Ausblick ist so toll, dass man darüber hinweg sieht.Pool ist gigantisch. Es gibt einen Privatstrand und einen Shuttle. Für ein oder zwei Nächte super. Der Carara Nationalpark ist schnell zu erreichen mit dem Auto, ebenso die Brücke mit den Krokodilen.

Hotel fuer romantische Naturliebhaber
Sensationelle Lage, sehr freundlicher Service, fuer Naturliebhaber, man braucht unbedingt ein Auto, da sehr weit "ab vom Schuss". Nichts fuer Spinnenphobiker, aber die gehoeren ja nun mal mit zum Regenwald. Gutes Restaurant, nicht billig. Steinstrand.

traumhafte Aussicht & ausgezeichnete Küche
Das Villa Caletas liegt auf einem Hügel 2km von der Hauptstrasse nach Jaco etwa 350m über dem Meer und bietet eine traumhafte Aussicht über den Pazifik mit wunderschönen Sonnenuntergängen. Die acht Standardzimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten befinden sich im Haupthaus auf zwei Stockwerken jeweils 4 Zimmer pro Etage. Grösse und Ausstattung dieser Standardzimmer sind angemessen. Sie verfügen entweder über eine Terrasse oder Balkon. Die ganze Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und gut gemacht, jedoch aufgrund der Lage mit vielem Treppensteigen verbunden. Zum Glück sind die Standardzimmer gleich beim Haupthaus, was kurze Wege und wenig Treppen bedeutet. Die beiden Restaurants bieten sehr gute Küche zu für Costa Rica relativ hohen Preisen. Allerdings haben wir nirgends in Costa Rica so gut gegessen wie hier. Das Preisniveau ist einem internationalen Erstklasshotel durchaus angemessen. Der Service ist besonders im Mirador Restaurant sehr gut. Zum Privatstrand der 1.5km entfernt liegt fährt jede Stunde ein gratis Shuttle-Geländewagen mit nur etwa 10 Sitzplätzen! Wer einen 4X4 Mietwagen hat kann selbst zum Strand fahren. Der Privatstrand ist sehr felsig und zum Baden nicht wirklich geeignet, unbedingt Badeschuhe anziehen. Man kann es sich aber auf den Liegen gemütlich machen und die Mitarbeiter der Strandbar servieren Getränke und Snacks ebenfalls zu recht hohen Preisen. Man gönnt sich ja sonst nichts. Das Frühstück mit Blick auf den Ozean war herrlich, das Frühstücksangebot so lala und ebenfalls eher teuer. Es sollte mehr auf den europäischen Geschmack abgestimmte Frühstücksgerichte geben. Das Checkout dauerte relativ lange, weil die Abrechnung nicht korrekt war und der Mitarbeiter Mühe mit der Umrechnung von Colones in US-Dollar hatte..

Even though it was completely booked, it felt the opposite. Private, secluded and friendly, not to mention breathtakingly beautiful at every turn, we felt like we were one of only a few there. Food and atmosphere was top-notch. Service was exceptional. Would love to return with my entire family one day!

Place was very clean and nice, but that’s about it. Hot water didn’t work so we took cold showers. Asked one guy and told him what room we were in and he said he’d let them know. Never got fixed. Water for the toilet ran at all times. I tried to fix it because I was still waiting on them to fix the shower but that didn’t happen, so I gave up and just let it run. I’ve been going there for years to the pool and pool bar and never had an issue. I had read some reviews about bad service but I didn’t think it would be that bad. I was wrong, it was horrible. The dining was not good, food quality or service. I wasn’t even going to leave any kind of review until I finally had enough today. My wife went to the pool bar to order us some drinks and no staff was there. Waited 10 mins and still nothing, so she went upstairs to the bar by the restaurant. The bartender told her he’d be down there in a few. 22 minutes later, still no bartender. Went back upstairs to order drinks, and she finally came down with a beer that was barely chilled, was more warm than chilled. So I went upstairs and the other bartender was apologetic but at that point I wasn’t happy. It’s frustrating paying a premium at what seems like the nicest place in Jaco area and have that bad of food, service, etc. I will never again go there and I've been going there since 2017. Sad to see such a nice place be such a disappointment.

The Villa Caletes is one of my favorite places. The setting and views are amazing. The hotel is exquisite- with architecture matching some of the most luxury inns in the world. It does not disappoint in this regards. I was somewhat disappointed with the bed this time. I could feel and hear the springs. I will be back for the view but might stay elsewhere.

Very beautiful location. The views from this property are stunning. We had a private hot tub with our room and that was great to have. The restaurant was nice, a little pricey and they didn’t offer a free breakfast. Parking is also a little awkward and it’s not within walking distance to anything. We had a car and were able to come and go without a problem. But the property itself, gorgeous. The rooms were clean and beautiful and the staff were all very friendly! Would definitely recommend.

Awful rooms. Absolutely not worth the price point
This was like visiting a hotel from the twilight zone. The grounds are well maintained and the views are beautiful but the rooms are in a terrible shape. The room we got smelled poorly, the furnitures were run down, hardware in the crowded bathroom were broken and rusty. The linens were thin from use, far from white crispy linens you would expect from a 5 stars hotel that charges $600 per night off season. The room decor was extremely distasteful in tacky red and black, so dated. The room is located where you cant access carts so getting to the room was steep and slippery, having to get to it in a really rainy weather, felt unsafe. The door keys didn’t work, power dropped, wifi reception is inconsistent. Staff at the front desk was standoffish, didn’t offer a different room despite asking a few times. It was so unpleasant we tried to avoid staying in the room except for sleep I was extremely uncomfortable there. Total waste of money. Service was inconsistent, restaurant was ok. If you want to see the views pay for a day pass. So disappointed. See pictures attached: the pics on the site are misleading.

The property itself is breathtaking. The staff is top notch! Unfortunately the original hiking trail was closed due to the country’s struggle to get back to normal after the pandemic. Transportation into town is costly so it’s best to rent a vehicle if you can. Property not recommended for small children.

This is a five star hotel in my book. The property is beautiful, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, the food and service at the restaurant are top notch. We celebrated our anniversary there and moved tables twice. Once we moved away from a table with small children that was noisy. Then we moved again to be inside. Once inside the temp was still warm so they turned on the AC for us. There only concern was our comfort and experience at their hotel. Hotels of comparable price, in the states would never do this. It was an amazing stay and we plan to return there for a longer stay for our 10th anniversary.

One night. Very comfortable. Lovely service at check in, bar and dinner. Food high quality. Although price at higher end, definitely better value than other places we stayed for similar or higher price. Highly recommend if you are looking in this price range.

Hotel Villa Caletas is in an incredible location with amazing views. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We ended up shortening to 5 of originally booked 6 days because the hotel had some shortfalls: the overall look-and-feel is of a place that is decaying and requiring maintenance; not as many options for food; the location by the "beach" is beautiful but not properly a beach, and in urgent need of care; one night, there was no warm water (it seems it has a dependency on the air conditioner to stay on to warm up the water); the toilet has a water leak as well as the faucets; the small fridge was very noisy at night; despite staying in the top "Superior Junior Suite", we were not impressed.

Needs remodeling
This hotel is in decline. the first night we ordered room service and the meals came an hour later and my food had little ants crawling on it. I called the restaurant and they said “No, that is the black wild rice in the meal” I said “We’ll, my rice learned to walk then.” The jacuzzi had most of the control buttons broken, out of date outlets that were hard to plug into, old light fixtures in the rooms etc. The views are amazing but the hotel is just run down and needs some attention.

The most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Everything is 5 star except the food. That gets a 4 star.

Stayed here many times the views are second to none rooms super comfortable and the Resturant is very good It’s up and away from it all so a great place to relax and as a bonus they have a shuttle to a private beach
