Absolutely horrible! This is the worst room we have booked in the last 20 years. I have traveled to more than 70 countries around the world and this is by far one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in! BEWARE!
The location is terrible - in the middle of a dead area in Tangier and you have to go up either a tons of steps or down a tons of steps. You cannot get a taxi to your room, you will need to climb up or down many stairs.
We waited outside of the place for 45 minutes for someone to show up and let us into our room! No apology - just I was having my dinner, he said.
The room was very noisy and extremely small. The noise outside the room (on the street) had people talking and yelling until 2:00 AM every night.
The bathroom is what is called a "wet head" on a boat, meaning the entire bathroom gets wet. No shower curtain. The toilet, the sink, and everything else in the bathroom gets soaking wet.
We talked to the owner/manager about these issues and he said that is just they way it is in Morocco. We are talked to other people we met outside where we stayed and we were told that they had a very nice experience at their hotel - nothing like what we had to deal with.
Booking the Dar Sharif was a huge mistake! The price is VERY high for what you get. BEWARE!
