Price was very good for the location and time of the year, but apartment is very old and dated and could have been cleaner. No room service, towels only after asking, no soap. But it had a fridge, microwave, toaster. If someone would invest in the building it could be a perfect accommodation.

Hotel liegt relativ zentral zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten. Einrichtung etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber sauber und für unsere Zwecke ausreichend. Wir haben eine Nacht im Hotel verbracht. Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist großartig. Alle zentralen Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig gut zu erreichen. Die Anbindung an die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel ist extrem gut. Die Hotelbeschreibung stimmt mit ihren ganzen Vor- und Nachteilen. Wir wussten, dass wir keine hohen Ansprüche haben dürfen und waren daher positiv überrascht. Es ist rudimentär, aber sehr sauber. Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt um die Stadt kennenzulernen absolut zu empfehlen.

The property is old. It's a pub. But it's location and the staff are all excellent. Right in the centre of Sydney cbd. Will definitely be back.

Rooms above bar/restaurant - although didn’t hear this. No reception desk so no help available and rooms looked a bit ‘tired’ but it was clean, well located and good value for money.

It is a cheap and comfortable stay. Clean and quiet place except the ceiling fan was extremely dirty - so much we did not want to turn it on.

Very centralized downtown Sydney. Walking distance to a lot of attractions as well as public transportation options are great nearby. It is great to have somewhere to put your stuff away and to sleep. Excellent place to stay for single travelers as well as for those traveling with friends. There is a bar downstairs too

Noisy Homeless outside window overnight , changing of empty kegs at 6 am. Room smelt nice upon arrival but after 1 day smelt of cigarette smoke. Old carpet needs to be replaced might get rid of odour. Good location and good value for price. Staff very helpful. Love the history of the building.

Very good stay . Directly in the heart of Sydney. If you have ear plugs it is a great location. A bit loud at night . Beds very comfortable. Good showers and bathroom.Easy check in and check out . I would definitely recommend it for a a short stay to visit Sydney.

Older building, however good location. Check in was a little worrying causetheyre close on a sunday. Once we got in we were happy with the facilities location to the bathrooms and size of room. Aircon worked well and window opens for fresh air. I would stay again.

The Occidental Hotel is located in the centre of Sydney. In spite of this, it is very quiet and offers everything is necessary for a comfortable staying. The staff is very helpful.

Interesting experience as we haven’t stayed in a hotel for many years. Hotel showing its age but antique furniture made the room cosy. A couple of items need attention - room blinds broken, shower tiles need extra cleaning. Shower only warm not hot even when left running for some time. Staff great. Good pub food.

The Occidental Hotel is a great option for easy access to trains, buses and trams in the city centre. 2 tram stops from Circular Quay. Check-in was simple. My room was spacious and clean, my bed was comfortable and I was happy to have a private en-suite bathroom. I wasn't too happy with one blind that didn't move up or down or a half roll of toilet paper for my 2-night stay. Although the room had a toaster and microwave, no cutlery or plates were provided. The bar area was very busy on Friday and Saturday night.

Be aware this is on a very busy corner and it's quite noisy so bring earplugs. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean and satisfactory, as were shared baths. Good hot showers. Great option for staying close to the Rocks if you're on a budget and bring those earplugs!
