Great host and cleanliness
No complaints from my family and I. The house is beautiful and has a great town view from the mountain. I really enjoyed driving the roads leading up to the home. A true Italian adventure. We also enjoyed making paste with Bararabra and her mother. We enjoyed listening to music and making the meal of a 4 hour period. We intend to return

One of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed in 25 trips to Italy. Property manager, Barbara, was efficient and communicated thoroughly from booking to our departure. She was awesome. Every conceivable amenity was provided and available. We’ll be back.

Paradise in Umbria
There are not enough superlatives to describe this place. Views, pool, hot tub, beautiful home with all kinds of space to spreadout. Barbara's homeis something else and the description and or pictures don't do it justice. If you are afraid of heights, better close you eyes on the way up. We will be back if at all possible

Amongst the Stars
Our stay at SubasioRelax was excellent. The views were picturesque. We would have enjoyed a little warmer weather to take advantage of the pool. That's about the only disappointment we could mention. The house is beautiful and well appointed, views are spectacular. Barbara was really responsive with communication, flexible and helped to make our stay exactly what we wanted by helping me find a local chef to prepare dinner one night which was terrific, taxi services for our large group etc.. I should have done a little more research about routes to use to reach the location as it was a little tricky with a large van. Once I stopped using Waze which took us on the local, small side roads, all was well. It is actually very easy to access from the old city of Spello which was the focus of our stay at this point and where more of our group stayed. We visited Assisi and local wineries. All was great. I use VRBO frequently and all over The US and Europe. I highly recommend SubasioRelax and would defitnitely stay here again.

Beautiful home in the mountains!
This home is beautiful and have plenty of room for 8 people (3 couples and 2 children). The home was further from the town of Spello than we had expected (about 8-10min drive down a winding hill) but was nice have a break from the noise and hustle and bustle of staying in larger cities/towns. It is very peaceful with a beautiful outdoor space. Be sure to bring bug spray- there are definitely mosquitoes in the mountains! The pool was beautiful- although a bit on the chilly side even in mid June. Barbara takes pride in her home and is very welcoming! We arrived on Fathers Day (in the U.S.) and Barbara agreed to do a pasta cooking class to celebrate! With the help of her mother who led us through making pasta, and her son who spoke English quite well! They were fun to have around and helped us prepare a delicious meal which included appetizers, pasta, and dessert all paired with delicious wine! Barbara is very responsive- beginning with before I even booked- she answered all my questions. While we were there she was very responsive to any questions we had! Would. Definitely recommend this property to those looking for a quiet and relaxing get away!

Beautiful home and great location!
I brought my parents to Itay for their first trip to Europe along with me, my husband, and my children. We stayed in Spello and took a day trip to Assisi. It was very close. Barbara and her family were terrific hosts. They offered a lot of information. Barbara left the family a basket of treats for our stay. The home is cozy and has beautiful details. It is VERY clean and organized. Our family had everything we needed and more. My son locked our car in the carport and Barabra's family rescued us on the last day! I give this home 5+ stars and wish we had more time at this house. The location is absolutely stunning! The beauty of the olive trees surrounding the home and the view were really peaceful and wonderful.

Excellent host and property
This property is fantastic! It had everything me and my friends wanted, it’s peaceful & quiet & felt like home from home. It’s about a 45 minute walk into to Spello but it is a lovely walk if your into that sort of thing otherwise if you have a car it’s easier. Barbara is an excellent host, very friendly and attentive, couldn’t have asked for anything more from her. Top place to stay, would definitely recommend and would definitely come back!

Perfection Promised
This beautiful villa is even prettier than pictured, the perfect place to relax by the pool, appreciate the peace and quiet of the Italian mountains, and use as a base camp for exploring Umbria. We loved the cool breezes at night, the panoramic views, and the amazing outdoor dining area. While we were entranced by trips to Collopino, Spello, and Assisi - I wish we had even more time in the villa. By far the best cooking class I’ve ever had - thanks to owner Barbara, her mother Marcella, and son Giacomo ( who is an ancient history buff who provides lots of tips). Do not miss this chance to make tagliatelle with tartuffo and enjoy them under the trees. We were all so very sorry to leave the villa - wonderful memories of a wonderful place!

Amazing stay!
Barbara and her family were so welcoming and lovely. The home was just as advertised and even more. It was everything we needed. The house stands high above Spello and the surrounding countryside it has immaculate views and a lovely pool The house offers everything you need in sleeping arrangements and cooking facilities You definitely need a car and I think booking.com needs to explain it is not a easy drive up the mountain but once conquered it is worth it We met Barbara and her son and both were terrific hosts you couldn’t find any nicer people to deal with if we venture back to Umbria we would certainly stay again

We had a fantastic 2 weeks and would highly recommend without hesitation.
We were driving from the UK over two days and were met by Barbara and her husband on arrival who were simply lovely. Barbara had even made us the most delicious cake as well as providing lots of basic fridge and larder stock which we didn’t expect but was really helpful as it was late to try and find shops. We had everything we needed in the villa and plenty of leaflets to help us decide what to do during our 2 week stay but would definitely say a car is essential as quite high up above the beautiful picturesque town of Spello for amenities. We decided to get the train to Rome for a day out and asked Barbara some advice and she went above and beyond for us which was very much appreciated. She called ahead and arranged in Italian for all that we were trying to fit into the day so that when we arrived we met Mrs Valentino in the terminal and it was seamless. As we had to leave early morning on our last day, Barbara came to say goodbye the evening before and again came bearing a gift of dessert wine and freshly home made biscotti beautifully wrapped. She has been the best host we have ever had and would not hesitate in recommending this property.

Location très propre, confortable et très bien équipée! Encore merci pour le panier de provisions et les boissons fraîches à notre arrivée. Barbara est très disponible et dévouée et répond rapidement à toutes nos questions. Le cours de cuisine avec Barbara et sa famille était exceptionnel de même que la dégustation et les échanges qui s’en sont suivis. Excellent sens de l’accueil et de l’hospitalité dans une maison au top. A recommander les yeux fermés!!!

Fantastic countryside villa and host
This is a beautiful villa that has recently been renovated. Very comfortable bedrooms, excellent showers, well equipped kitchen. Barbara and her family are great hosts - they welcomed our family warmly. We had a fun evening of cooking lessons with Barbara, her husband, and her mother. Our family of 7 had a great time relaxing by the pool and exploring Spello and Assisi, both easy drives down quiet roads. The scenery is gorgeous. Car rental is a necessity.

VillaSubasioRelax is a beautiful and relaxing villa.
Five friends relaxed at this beautiful villa on the side of Subasio mountain in Spello, Italy. This was our last stop on our 2 week Italy vacation and we could not have hoped for a better place! Barbara and Loris were gracious hosts. Barbara helped arrange an Ebike tour, transportation to and from and a cooking class prior to our visit. They had a basket of food and drinks ready for us on arrival. Barbara even drove us to the grocery store to get more supplies. The villa was well equipped with everything we needed. The saltwater pool was a great place to unwind after a day of exploring. When our 4 nights were up, Barbara and Loris drove us to the train station. One of the highlights of our stay was the cooking class. It was a family affair consisting of Barbara, Loris and Nana who taught us to make homemade pasta and sauce. Their son, Giacomato was the translator and historian on the town of Spello. It was a warm and wonderful night filled with laughter, good people, wine and lots of homemade food! Nana's dessert was the best we had in Italy! We all want to return and stay longer at VillaSubasioRelax! If you do not have a car, have Barbara help arrange transportation and events prior to your stay. Thank you Barbara, Loris, Giacomato and Nana for a memorable stay!

Beautiful villa and pool over looking wonderful scenery.
We had a fantastic time at VillaSubasioRelax. Barbara and Loris were excellent hosts greeting us on our arrival with some local food and drinks. The villa is well stocked and the rooms are clean and well maintained. Spello is a lovely village and nearby Assisi is a must! There were 8 of us ranging in age from 6 to 72 we all had a fabulous time and hope to return. A car is essential as the villa is remote and on the side of the mountain and it allows to visit all the local places and further afield. It was incredibly hot when we were there and would recommend insect repellent!! The pool was a welcome relief to cool down!! Will be recommending to all

Would give 10 stars if I could!
This property is absolutely beautiful and even better than the pictures! Barbara was the most welcoming and gracious host you could ask for... She made us feel as if we were practically family. The town of Spello is a darling hill town with lots of character, but not as busy as Assisi. It is about three miles down the hill from Villa Subasio Relax. We didn't have a car, but enjoyed the walk to and from town, but then, we love to hike! The location is best suited for those with a car. We were a family group of nine, with three generations, and the accommodations were spacious with plenty of outdoor space including the pool and a picnic area. We can't recommend Villa Subasio Relax enough! Given the opportunity, we would definitely return!

The perfect getaway in this gorgeous villa.. near the gorgeous village of Spello
Barbara and her family were so welcoming. She had waited for us to arrive and even prepared some amazing treats for us. The villa itself was fully loaded with every amenity needed. And the pool... It was gorgeous!!!. What a great stay me and my friends had for 3 days.. we wish we could have stayed longer but had other areas of Italy to explore!! The town of Spello is so beautiful.. highly recommend this villa if your wanting to explore Umbria !!

Splendida Villa immersa nella tranquillità
Abbiamo trascorso le feste di Natale a Villa Subasio ed è stato davvero un soggiorno sereno. La proprietaria Barbara ci ha accolto con molta gentilezza offrendoci un cesto di benvenuto ricco di cose buone. La casa è arredata con molto gusto ed è completa di tutto. Il grande camino nel salone é molto suggestivo. Wi fi con ottima ricezione. Torneremo anche in estate!

Lovely newly renovated house with pool and fantastic views.
We spent 10 nights at the Villa Subasio Relax in August, being the fourth people to rent the property. Barbara and her family greeted us on arrival and gave us an introduction to the house and had prepared us a lovely lunch and welcome basket, plus a fridge stocked of drinks. It is a perfect place to discover Umbria, places to visit being Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, Spoleto, Lake Trasimo and the falls at Cascata dell Marmore. Drive to the top of Monte Subasio for views of all Umbria. We wanted to go to a vineyard for wine tasting and Barbara recommended Sportoletti in Spello, where for 20 Euros we had a tour with wine tasting and food, definitely the highlight of the holiday! The pool is in the sun all day and lovely to relax at. If you are going in the summer, don't forget to take insect repellent as we did get bitten. We would definitely return to this Villa and recommend staying here, not only for the house but the family made it the icing on the cake with their help and advice.

AMAZING!
We were warmly greeted by the owners despite our (very) late arrival due to major traffic delays through Switzerland (we drove from the UK). They were so lovely and accommodating despite a bit of a language barrier on both sides! There was even a welcome basket of food and a few cold beers in the fridge on arrival which were very much appreciated after a VERY LONG DRIVE! The villa was perfect. Located high up in the Umbrian mountains above Spello, we had glorious views from a charming villa that was secure and private. The only drawback was no air-conditioning, and seeing how we were there for 2 weeks during an exceptional and unusual heatwave with temps hovering around 42 degrees C during the day, this did make things uncomfortable at times. However, seeing how the villa is so high up, this isn't usually a problem as it does tend to be quite a bit cooler than down in the valley below and they provided us with extra fans when requested. The owners kept the pool clean, surprised us with delicious pastries from the local bakery on our first weekend morning there, and even came to the rescue of a very friendly dog who decided he liked the looks of us (or our pool!) and didn't want to leave! After quite some searching, they were able to return the dog to its rightful owners much to the relief of our dog-loving kids who quickly grew fond of our hol-i-dog! The owners also offered their university-aged son's services to us at no extra charge to personally take us around the local towns of Spello and Assisi. He was a wonderful tour guide, very knowledgeable of the towns he grew up in and we really enjoyed spending two afternoons with him. He showed us far more than we would have seen on our own. The villa is very comfortable and tastefully decorated with a lovely outdoor eating area, quality furnishings, and a large stone BBQ which got quite a bit of use as it was often too hot to cook inside. We enjoyed more than a few meals at local restaurants recommended by the owners. There is so much to see and do in the area that 2 weeks simply wasn't enough and we would love to return someday. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Villa Subasio Relax!

Our home is 800 meters high and there was no need for air conditioning but we will add to our services in anticipation of other hot African waves in the future. Un casale bellissimoe panoramico, immerso nel verde del Monte Subasio, dotato di ogni confort, dalla piscina al wi-fi, dalle casse bluetooth all'angolo barbecue in pietra, fino a un camino immenso che veste splendidamente il comodo salone. All'arrivo abbiamo trovato due buonissime torte e una bottiglia di vino, omaggio della gentilissima Barbara.
