Wildflower Quarters is one of two brand new adults only (21+ yrs) self contained Hamptons inspired eco-stay units nestled under one roof on our 9-acre sanctuary. Surrounded by rolling hills, soft country air and the quiet hum of nature. This beautiful cocoon-like space offers a luxe king bed, gentle interiors, a Teahouse-inspired touch and well-equipped kitchenette. With friendly alpacas and miniature sheep wandering the paddocks just beyond. 7-star energy rating ensures year round comfort.
The space:
Wildflower Quarters sits within the original Greenstead, a place shaped as an experiential stay by seasonal living, regeneration, and a slower, more intentional relationship with the land.
We have sound proofed the two units, but some sound may travel between them.
This is the living inspiration and home of the weekly Greenstead Life podcast, where reflections on simplicity, resilience, nature, and everyday rituals are drawn directly from this landscape.
The property is gently evolving through regeneration plantings, edible bush tucker native species, and thoughtfully designed spaces that support biodiversity, birdlife, and long-term soil health. A peaceful pond sits quietly within the landscape, reflecting the sky and drawing birds throughout the day, a natural place to pause and take in the stillness.
Woven through the land is a young food forest and hundreds of feijoa fruit trees recently planted across the property, forming the foundations of a future edible landscape. These plantings are part of a long-term horticultural vision - one that values abundance, care for the land, and living in rhythm with the seasons.
Friendly alpacas and miniature sheep roam freely across the paddocks, moving at their own gentle pace and adding to the calm, grounded atmosphere. They are simply part of life here - present, peaceful, and unhurried.
This is not a staged farm stay, but a living Greenstead - thoughtfully designed to be experienced and enjoyed by guests. Open spaces, quiet paths, and intentional pauses invite you to slow down, wander, and reconnect. Many guests describe a sense of calm that’s difficult to put into words... as though the land itself encourages the noise to fade, the pace to soften, and time to gently fall back into balance.
Guest access:
Guests are invited to enjoy the wider Greenstead during their stay, with access to open areas, regeneration plantings, walking areas, and the peaceful spaces surrounding the pond. The land is expansive and gently unfolding, offering plenty of room to wander, pause, and take in the quiet rhythm of the property.
Wildflower Quarters is fully self-contained with a private entrance and dedicated car park, allowing you to arrive and settle in at your own pace. Check-in is simple and contactless via a keybox, with clear instructions provided prior to arrival so your stay begins smoothly and without interruption. There are ceiling fans in the master bedroom and also the living area.
While the Greenstead animal sanctuary is home to a small number of thoughtfully placed self-contained eco-stays, the overall atmosphere remains calm and uncrowded. Wildflower Quarters shares a roof with Stringybark Quarters, and Banjo’s Cabin is located separately (approximately 100 metres away) elsewhere on the acreage. Each stay has been carefully positioned and designed to maintain a sense of privacy, relaxation, and ease.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the outdoor areas at their own pace; however, some parts of the property are actively regenerating and may be planted, fenced, or resting as part of the Greenstead’s long-term horticultural design. For safety and animal wellbeing, feeding and access to animal paddocks / enclosures is by invitation only. Please note that swimming is not permitted in the dam for safety reasons.
We ask that guests respect quiet hours and the peaceful nature of the property, allowing everyone to enjoy the calm rural setting.
Other things to note:
Days in Central Gippsland are easy to shape to your mood. Spend a morning by Lake Glenmaggie or Cowwarr Weir, picnicking, paddling, or drifting between shaded banks and natural swimming spots.
Head out for lunch or dinner at local country pubs and cafés, with Heyfield just 10 minutes away for supplies (IGA, general store, fuel, chemist etc), coffee, and an unpretentious country feel.
Wine lovers can wander between favourites like the award winning fine dining Tinamba Hotel, Blue Gables Winery, and Glenmaggie Wines, while nearby nature reserves offer quiet walks and hidden pockets of green. If you feel like a little buzz, the regional centres of Sale and Traralgon are each only 25 minutes away - close enough for choice, far enough to return to calm by evening.
Back at the farm, to help keep the Greenstead safe, peaceful, and enjoyable for everyone, we have a few simple guidelines:

• No pets, parties or fires are permitted anywhere on the property.
• This is an adults only (21 plus) property and Swimming is not permitted in the dam or pond.
• Best stick to the marked paths and open areas, as parts of the land are actively regenerating.
