The hotel looks impressive from the outside and is the only one of the hotels I stayed during my 1 week vacation that has an elevator, helpful when you have heavy bags. The staff are very friendly and it has nice dining facilities. The hotel is tired looking and in need of updating. I had no trouble parking in their small private parking lot, but it was a Sunday night, so perhaps not as full as it might have been on other nights, given their disclosure about there being limited space and parking on a first come first served basis. I do have a complaint about the room (basic single), which was awful and didn’t feel particularly clean. I knew a single with a twin bed wasn’t going to be large, but this room was the tiniest room I’ve ever stayed in and very claustrophobic. The head of the bed touched one wall and the foot of the bed the other, with the door opening right onto the foot of the bed and you had to squeeze into the room. The photo on Expedia of a basic single shows a bed with a wider headboard and two pillows side by side, making it look wider than it really is. The room overlooked an enclosed flat roof with what looked like furnace vents, at the back of the hotel. The instructions for turning on the shower were complicated (turn this and then press that, etc.) and then said to let the water run for 7 minutes to allow it to get to temperature! Wasting this much precious water really bothered me. I won't stay here again.

Exceptionally clean, bright and well-cared for premises. All staff encountered were friendly and efficient. Room, although small was well equipped and, ideal for me, as a single traveler, and at a very reasonable price.

Disappointing!
To start with, the only thing that we liked about the hotel is the location. It is a short walk to the beach and other tourist spots. The rest was a disappointment. Let me start when we check in, the staff at the reception wasn’t please at all to see us. The male staff just stared at us as if we haven’t made a reservation, the lady was the one who explained to us the check in process but it wasn’t welcoming either. Second was the sink and bathtub which become flooded just a few seconds of opening the tap/shower (it wasn’t draining well. Third was the bedsheet - I couldn’t sleep on our first night as the sheets make my skin itchy, you can tell that it wasn’t fresh! (Could be from the previous guest) which was disgusting! I asked the housekeeper the next day if they could change it but was rude, raising her voice and asking what’s wrong with it (even if I already told her colleague the issue). Fourth was the breakfast- it was the worst breakfast ever in all the years of my travelling. Foods where not fresh, very salty, drinking glasses dirty etc. Overall I am not going back and not recommending at all.

First Class Accommodation
A warm well presented Hotel worthy of a 3/4 star rating . Relaxing decor throughout with high standards of cleanliness throughout. My child thoroughly enjoyed her stay using the swimming pool facility every day with access to the hidden gem of the games room. Good location to North and South Bays adjacent to Peasone Park . Free parking a comforting bonus.

Very clean and welcoming
Made to feel welcome immediately, clear communication, very clean and open. Bed was slightly hard but that’s personal to choice. Good to have separate toilet to bathroom. Good lighting and plenty of mirrors near sockets. Food slightly overpriced for portions but was tasty. Spa was great to chill and relax, pool big enough for leisurely swimming but not for keep sportsperson (which I’m not). Location is excellent, across road from Peasholm Park and short walk to North Bay

Absolutely fabulous hotel. The staff were friendly and approachable. The pool, jacuzzi and steam room were excellent and added an extra bit of relaxation to the stay. Breakfast was piping hot and delicious.

Cheap and Cheerful in Scarborough
Nice receptionist and told where to go for room. Stairs were a bit steep, and the whole place was thickly carpeted throughout. The Anagliptor textured wallpaper dates the last time it was decorated, bug the walls were freshly painted. The beds were also a bit soft and tired but did the job. Food and service in the evening was very good and we enjoyed the meal. Breakfast service could have done with some warmth and a smile, although the food was OK. Not sure if we would book this Hotel again.

Fabulous hotel .
Brilliant location. Wonderful hotel- clean, very comfortable, had a wonderful nights sleep. Had a very spacious room with a beautiful view of park and castle. The pool is a bonus , we used it loads as well as the games room. Staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and go out of the way to make your stay perfect. Breakfast served in the lovely light and spacious restaurant was excellent, choice of cereals, fruit/yogurt and a choice of cooked food. Had both the full English and kippers the next day - both absolutely delicious . Can not recommend this hotel highly enough and definitely hope to return.
