Nobody on reception, had to phone.Water leaking from radiator in first room, no sink plug in second room offered.Wifi works in reception but not in rooms.Staff try to be helpful when they can be found!

We enjoyed our stay at green gables. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The balcony we had also was nice lovely to get up have a cuppa and enjoy the morning rays. My boys enjoyed the games room. Overall very happy and would come again

It was quite big room number 14 bed comfortable very good suppy of tea and coffee even had parking for car a bit tight in street getting in too hotel overall its cheap and its a bed 1nighter

Worst hotel in Scarborough
The staff are amazing ,check in quick and without any problems , but that’s all the good points . All floors are dirty rooms are very badly maintained with dirty marks on walls ,mattresses are way too soft so soft that I didn’t get much sleep ,noise is a major issue very noisy with slamming doors ,guests talking walking in corridor’s can be herd . This hotel needs closing down and major investment to bring it up standard . The swimming pool was dirty full of bird poo and feathers . Full review on my YouTube channel

Last minute booking to see the new year, came to scarbrough to see fireworks. And rather than travelling the hour their and back thought we'd give this place ago as was cheep. Glad i ignored reveiws. As even though it was a little dated needed work and non of facilities (lounge games room swimming pool ect) where open. It was pleasant lovely and quiet comfy beds and rooms very clean,had a very good nights sleep.

Disgusting
Hotel is utterly disgusting and should not be operating. Unclean, derelict and unsafe. Checked out shortly after checking in because was so appalled.

Nice and big, but tired and cold building
The room was very spacious and clean. Towels lovely and clean. Plenty of shampoo, conditioners and soap. Water very hot but if you shower and mix with the cold, the cold takes over. So either scorching shower or cold shower. Lovely views of the park, with near enough floor to ceiling windows, nice and quiet. BUT the room was so cold. Unbelievably cold, we ended up leaving a day early due to it. It was tried to be rectified by being given a heater, but the heater didn’t work. We ended up buying hot water bottles and sleeping with the extra blankets, but still too cold.

Great stay. The staff is amazing. Mohammed were great welcoming us. There seems to be a lot of effort is being put to help. The room is very extremely spacious and the beds were comfortable.

Very basic
Beautiful old building. Very sparsely furnished. Needed some ‘warmth’ as all bare walls etc . The room was tiny which was surprising as the occupancy was not high so would have expected a larger room in such a big hotel When we entered the room it was icy cold. The receptionist and new manager accompanied us to the room. We later went down to request a heater they said they had forgotten to turn the boiler on. Unfortunately the radiators needed bleeding so still cool. They did react very quickly to the issues raised and I understand a new manager had just started so hopefully improvements particularly around the heating in future. He was very attentive. Bottom line it was a basic price so basic room but improvements need to be made. Free parking which was a blessing limited parking nearby

For a old building was kept fairly tidy and equipted to suit the need and rooms the swimming pool is a good touch if was heated would make it alot more better for familys that stay to enjoy but over all is a lovley hotel n staff who own it was very polite too :)

Safety concern. Room okay.
This hotel has recently re opened to the public following being used by the government to house asylum seekers. There are still residents who are placed there from socal services. This did not bother us because we're not far right nutters and some people need support. We stayed 1 night. The room was okay. Dated, but okay. Bedding was clean and comfy. Room was warm. Hot water. Basic amenities were available. Tea and coffee making and TV. For the price we paid £43 for the night we weren't expecting anything more than what we got. Receptionist was friendly and took our bag to the room for us. We stayed in room 4 and was told we had access to the balcony.. DO NOT try to go onto the balcony from the room. The wooden planks outside the French doors are not safe and are are ready to give way. Someone could bet killed!! There was a lot of noise during the night from the front door banging and people talking loudly bit that can happen anywhere so overall. Not bad for a cheap night in Scarborough.

A lot of corridors with few directions, would have been a difficult exit in case of fire. Fire doors by stairs left open, one deliberately so with a doorstop. No teaspoon or sugar with drinks sachet. Shower- sporadic pressure.

I never to go to this place absolutely horrible The property was very dirty and small very bad and the alarm goes on twice in the middle of night the kids was scared and after that till the morning not sleep anyone want to go holiday go somewhere nice don’t waste time and money!!!

Where do I start, nobody around at reception when arrived so had to ring a number on the desk,got given the key to room 4 and the door was hanging off then there was a party on below my room on till 1am,then fire alarm went off at 1.20am. Me and my 2 girls (6 and 8 ) didn't feel safe at all in that place I even put a chair up against the door incase anybody tryed to get in and I would here it fall over. I no it was cheap but you should always feel safe in any hotel and we didn't. Personal I think a health and safety officer should be looking into this pace as its the worst hotel I have ever stopped in. I have videos and pictures that iv taken to show how terrible this place is. Sorry to be so negative but if I didn't have 2 kids with me I would of slept in my car. Thanks Martin

We didnt like anything, we were made to wait for someone to come onto reception, telly didnt work, no clean towels given on a 2 day stay, lights in room were terrible, bathroom light only worked when turning main bedroom light on, complete waste of money, i should be refunded for this
