Expedia and their partner VRBO overbooked the apartment I rented. Alejandro, the host took the initiative to help me when they tardily notified him of my confirmed reservation. He found another apartment in the same building and delivered hospitality. Much better service than the Expedia tech overlords are willing to do.
To all of us using OTA's, there needs to be consequences to the incompetence of the online blood suckers. Write your legislators. Talk to your city council members. The OTA grift system doesn't work with out the customers and providers. Make your voice heard.
