’FOUR A PAIN’ apartment is perfect for a couple or solo travelers. As the name suggest, it used to hold an ancient bread oven to provide for local villagers. Contrary to its name, it’s nicely cool in the summer, due to its thick stone walls. Whilst retaining a lot of the character and original features, it has been completely refurbished in spring 2024 to provide a newly fitted kitchen (with a fridge-freezer, induction hob, air fryer, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster etc), dining area, spacious shower room and separate double bedroom with a view. There is a TV and fibre Internet connection. On your doorstep there is a terrace for alfresco dining, right in front of our oldest linden tree. In your cottage you will find all we feel you need, from the highest quality bedding and towels, toiletries (body wash, soap, shampoo and conditioner), hairdryer, to tea, coffee capsules, herbs and spices, freshly cut flowers from the garden, so you can enjoy your escape to the country to the fullest. For longer stays you can expect a welcome basket with local or homemade products as well. Upon request, we offer breakfast and meals which we serve at your cottage. Enjoy the views from the hilltop down the valley, looking over sunflowers and meadows towards a small lake, distant woods and fields. Admire the incredibly starry skies we get here, the Milky Way is clearly visible and shooting stars put on nightly shows. Listen to the healing sounds of nature, a huge variety of birds and frogs giving their daily concerts. This is Cognac, vineyard and Pineau country with specialities of duck, walnut, melon and chestnut dishes.
