Okay, so let’s get this out the way: it’s a little dated but only to the 80s with some interesting decor. Something of an old school motel. But it’s clean, very well equipped, and the real winning quality: in a FANTASTIC location. You couldn’t ask for a better spot. And a shout out to John: a real friendly chap and genuinely welcoming.

All our studios supply 4 towells per day for 2 people. For most guests that number appears satisfactory.Barry

one night stay was terrible.Guest upstairs were having a party till 1am.Lodge duty manager was not professional enough to get them undercontrol. I have spoken to Ranjay who explained to me this revue was posted in error. It was supposed to be posted about a previous Taupo property they were in the night before. I have contacted Expedia with this info but they wont remove the revue..

The views of the park and lake were great, but unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there. The room was large and well appointed. The queen bed was very nice, but the pull-out bed for our daughter wasn't fit for an adult (uncomfortable).

Good location, clean but expensive motel
Pretty good location, within walking distance to the lake as well as a lot of eating places. Room is clean with a well-stocked kitchenette. So it's pretty decent for a motel. Main gripe I have about this place is that it's pretty overpriced at NZD230 per night for a motel. Security can be said to be non-existent as anyone can walk in and the office leaves all the keys to the rooms easily accessible for anyone. Also a bit weird is that they didn't put bedsheets on the bed, just 2 layers of mattress protectors...

Hi, Thank you for your comments. We feel with all of the renovations carried out at the motel that we are charging a fair price. The office has 24 hour surveillance cameras and we have never had anything taken. We have new sheets, perhaps you mistook these as mattress protectors.

Great location and clean rooms, housekeeping were great! A little dated and bathrooms need an upgrade and not enough towels on arrival. The booking also said a queen bed and 3 single beds but it was a double bed, x1 single bed and x2 sofabeds which were very difficult to fold out. Had an issue with the Manager Barry being quite grumpy and when we were enjoying the deck area on the Saturday night at 11pm with friend's we were met with aggressive yelling from him instead of "would you mind keeping the noise down" which we would of been happy to do. We were only talking and possibly laughing a little loudly at times with our neighbors from the unit next door, no loud music etc or yelling. I have worked in hotels and the way he dealt with it was unacceptable. He did try to apologize the following day but in a backward way of making excuses for his behavior. We will not be returning

최악의 숙소
사진과너무다르고 객실설명과도 많은차이가 있었다. 욕조도없고 문열면 바로 쓰레기통들이 있고 ...... 뉴질랜드 한달여행중 가장비싼숙소였는데 상태는 최악이었고 가족에게 미안했다. 3박에 555달러나준게 생각할수록 억울하다. 바로옆에 훌륭한 호텔들이 비슷한가격으로 예약가능하니 그곳으로 가기 바란다.

We were very pleased with our accommodation, the host was friendly and helpful. The room was perfect for what we needed, fantastic shower and the bed was super comfy!! Excellent location, handy to everything. We would definitely stay again, in fact we are booked in for next January already!!
