Dear Evi (I'm able to speak and understand a bit German but unfortunately I can't write it). Thanks a lot for your kind review. It has been nice to meet you and talk to you everyday. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay at La Papessa and that you liked it for the antique forniture and strategical position. Regarding the breakfast, we improved our service just in these last days and it is "served" in the room now. Our guests find a breakfast kit every day in their own rooms as well as kettle and toaster. Absolutes Juwel mitten in der Stadt!
Zentraler geht es wirklich nicht. Ich konnte alles zu Fuß erledigen, selbst der Vatikan ist gemütliche 45 Gehminuten entfernt. Caterina und Marcella haben mir großartige Tipps gegeben, die gut auf meine Situation passten (alleinreisende Frau, nur 2 volle Tage für Sightseeing). Das Frühstück in dem winzigen, aber sehr gemütlichen Frühstücksraum ist exzellent, große Auswahl für so eine kleine Pension. Jeden Tag wird das Zimmer gereinigt. Die Fenster halten den Lärm von der sehr belebten Via del Corso super ab, ich habe geschlafen wie ein Baby. Wer sich den zusätzlichen Luxus gönnen möchte, dem sei der Fahrdienst vom und zum Flughafen empfohlen. Für 50 Euro wird man von Tür zu Tür chauffiert, was mit Gepäck sehr viel entspannter ist als die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel. Die Pension liegt ein wenig versteckt in einer Seitengasse, die viele Taxifahrer nicht finden, daher ist der Chauffeurdienst ein großes Plus.

super zentral, nettes Personal, gerne wieder!
wir waren sehr zufrieden! Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen, ebenfalls würden wir das Hotel Freunden und Bekannten weiterempfehlen. Das Zimmer war sehr schön eingerichtet, das Bad modern. Trotz dem Fenster zur Straße hinaus war es bei Nacht super ruhig, die Scheiben wurden erst vor kurzem neu verglast.

Tolle Lage, nette Bedienung, sehr komfortabel
Ich empfehle La Papessa für Alle die Rom besuchen möchten. Der Zimmer war gross und sauber. Die Lage ist einfach toll, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuss gut erreichbar. Zimmer fand ich gar nicht laut, obwohl es an der Hauptstrasse liegt. Frühstück auch sehr gut.

Toller Service, mitten im alten Rom
Wir waren zu zweit vom 11.07. - 14.07.2014 hier zu Gast, und ja, wir sind hier Weltmeister geworden. Es handelt sich um ein Guesthouse, man könnte genauer sagen um eine ehemalige hochherrschaftliche Wohnung in der 3. Etage eines Wohnhauses, in deren Flur sich die Rezeption und der Frühstücksraum befindet. Die ca 3,50 m hohen Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet (Tresor, Flachbildfernseher) und haben ein tolles Badezimmer. Die Decken sind verziert und die Möbel teils antik, alles stimmig und gemütlich. Wir hatten extra Ohropax mitgenommen, wegen der bekannten Lärmproblematik der Hauptstraße und mussten aber feststellen, dass die kürzlich eingebauten neuen Fenster absolut dicht waren und wir die Stöpsel für die Ohren nicht brauchten. Für eine Kühlung im Sommer sorgt die Klimaanlage. Das Frühstück bestand aus Toast, Kaffee, Säften, Cornflakes, Aufschnitt, Marmelade und Nutella. Außerdem gab es herrliches frisches Gebäck (scheinbar vom Bäcker) und frisches Obst. Alles in allem gut und ausreichend. Die beiden Damen vom Servicepersonal, die wir kennenlernen durften waren äußerst zuvorkommend, sehr kommunikativ und bemüht. Es gab tolle Tipps für die Besichtigung der Stadt. Die zentrale Lage erlaubte uns alles per pedes zu erkunden (Pantheon 3 min., Colloseum 15 min., Petersdom 45 min.). Die tägliche Reinigung des Zimmers und Badezimmers war gründlich. Wir würden wieder hinfahren!

Sehr gemütliches Bed and Breakfast in bester Lage.
Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption waren extrem hilfreich, charmant, freundlich und unterstützend. Technische maintenance vor allem der Bäder sollte aber unbedingt verbessert werden (Duschkabinentür fiel mir entgegen, Licht flackerte und war nicht auszuschalten, Birnen kaputt, Duschkopf verkalkt.) Das wurde aber alles kompensiert durch die bereits erwähnte extreme Hilfsbereitschaft der Rezeption, ganz wunderbar. Und die Zimmer sind einfach wunderschön möbliert und gestaltet, da hatte jemand richtig Händchen beim Gestalten des Interieurs. Ebenso ist das Gebäude sehr schön, in dem das B&B liegt.

Perfekte Wahl- jederzeit wieder
Dieser Aufenthalt in Rom war traumhaft, die Lage dieses Hotels einfach perfekt um auch mal während den Erkundungen durch Rom eine kleine Pause einzulegen. Sehr zentrale Lage und bester Startpunkt für diverse Aktivitäten (ob Bus oder zu Fuß). Die Inhaber des Hotels waren sehr, sehr freundlich - einen großen Dank hier an Caterina und Massimo! Sie standen uns immer mit Tips und Rat zur Seite. das Frühstück ist für deutsche Verhältnisse vielleicht nicht sehr üppig, aber völlig ausreichend. Jederzeit wieder..:-)

You need to know this before you pay this much for this stay! It is not a hotel and there is no hotel front desk or staff- no way to communicate in a timely manner The room is tiny- no countertops- no drawers- very little space- beds are like cots and low to the ground. We picked for 3 reasons- 1. Air conditioning- and it was broken during our stay in late May but they said “ you are welcome to use the fan we provided” not the same thing! They did discount the room For this issue after I complained. 2. Elevator- well there is an old tiny one that holds a person and 2 bags BUT. it doesn’t take you to your floor- only close. You still have to walk up or down a flight of stairs to get to your tiny, basic room. It appears to stop on half floors where there are no rooms. 3. Location - that was good But we should have never booked this place. It’s like staying in a hostel and we are grown adults - we aren’t college kids back-packing through Europe. Also room advertised 1 king and 2 twins. The King was actually a queen and all 4 beds were jammed together with little pace to get out in between. Bathroom small- no countertop anywhere. No shelves. So haul your luggage up to 4th floor (cause they call the first floor 0). Get to your tiny, cramped, hot room and try to sleep on your small prison cot. Oh and no access to cool water even for the breakfast- which is mainly cookies and juice. For e756 there are real hotels available.

We had a wonderful stay at the Residenza Sciarra. We were able to walk to all the major attractions, and restaurants. It was in a wonderful location and we felt very secure there. The restaurant downstairs was excellent as was the staff. Would stay there again.

Excelente ubicación para recorrer Roma. Con las indicaciones que recibimos fue muy fácil realizar el check in y el check out. Siempre recibimos respuesta rápida. La habitación cómoda con todo lo necesario ylimpio. Lo único para tener en cuenta es que si bien hay que ascensor, hay que subir un entrepiso para acceder al mismo.

Big plus for location, response time and service. Easy to find next to pharmacy. Walking distance to many sights/shopping area except maybe the Vatican. Enjoyed being able to retreat to the small, private breakfast area for lunch or rest in the small sofa during the day (although slightly stuffed air in the room). Busy area outside. Easy to get in touch with other people at breakfast time (four rooms using one breakfast area). Early checkout, but left our suitcases in the breakfast area which is only available for the four rooms, the day of our late departure. Minus for the very soft main bed which we almost slided out of. No complaints on the extra beds placed in the room and used by our teenage boys.

This place located right in the heart of Rome! There is a very vibrant restaurant by the entrance. The hotel consists of 4-5 rooms and common area for breakfast. Rooms are small. Our room had windows facing back with some construction. Other rooms had better vew. Communication with staff was easy and staff was very helpful.

I usually do not write reviews. Owner not on property. It seems to be vrbo. Communication throught whats app. Which is very minimal even with app. Small elevator that sometimes does not work so be prepared to take your luggage on your own up 4-5 flights of stairs. Need codes to get in. Was not given codes until after I arrives ( i send text back day i booked that I would arrive at 10 am) and found someone from another hotel who helped me. The lady who cleans is the only one for communication which she did not know alot of english or know answers too much. Light breakfast good. Location good. Restaurant at entrance very good and friendly staff.

Dear guest, the check-in instructions were sent to you early in the morning of your arrival, as you can also verify.Apart from this, I was never asked for anything during my stay even though I was always available and available, so obviously you didn't have all this need for staff in the facility.The staff is always available for any problem and if necessary reaches the structure in a few minutes.The access codes are very simple and the guest is promptly informed with very clear explosive videos.

The description of this place does not match reality, but it does have two good points: 1. Location, 2. Hot water in the shower. It’s not a king size bed, there’s no front desk or reception, there’s no laundry service, it’s super hard to find which is so stressful when you first arrive in a new city. We texted with the host but never saw anyone, she wasn’t able to help us in any way, its basically a hostel. If I knew what I was getting into it probably wouldn’t have been so frustrating. The queen size bed was old and had deep grooves on each side with a ridge in the middle that makes you feel like you’re falling off the edge. My husband and I slept on the rickety roll away cots and put our young kids in the main bed it was so bad. I messaged the host and she said that it was memory foam and everyone else loves it. I sleep on a memory foam mattress at home, this is not a feature of memory foam, it’s just an old mattress that needs to be replaced.

The lady was followed step by step since before her arrival at the facility.All the indications are always given to her.our staff is always present and ready to help guests.We only accept real reviews not like this, sorry.So far no one has ever complained about the size of the room or the bed.Unfriendly guests, not recommended.

The hotel owner, staff and the location are amazing. However a few areas for improvement are better details on the actual location and where to enter the building, better air conditioning as the room never cooled off enough and providing shampoo and conditioner would be appreciated.

We stayed at Residenza Sciarra as a family of 4 (2teenagers). The B&B is a little tricky to located, but the taxi driver knew exactly where to take us. The people who run this B&B were very good with communicating with me ahead of time and arranged both the pickup and drop of to the airport. I was able to communicate with them anytime through Whatsapp, so very convenient. The B&B is not manned, but all instructions and door lock codes were all provided to us. The B&B itself is SPOTLESS!!! They are excellent at cleaning. There is housekeeping daily, and towel exchange every 2 days. We never had an issue with anything. The breakfast is continental, with Delicious croissants, little sandwiches, yogurts, cereals, mild and juice and coffee! more than enough to get our day started! The location is absolutely the best and most convenient. Just steps from the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon, and no more than a 20min walk anywhere else. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, and many taxis available all the time. The rooms are what you can expect from Europe. A little snug for the 4 of us with 4 HUGE suitcases and our bags, but we organized and found our routine, so no problem. Overall, I would say the Residenza Sciarra is a good stay for anyone looking for convenience and a good price!

Decent place, great location
The hosts were super helpful sending instructions and photos to make sure we found the door which is slightly off the main road. Location is amazing. Short walk to all the big sites which was awesome. The room is small - there were 4 people in our room, I think a queen or double and two small cots. The bed had a huge sinkhole. Very uncomfortable but the AC worked and there was coffee and food in the morning.

Overall, it’s a cute B&B type property. The Trevi and Colosseum are decently within walking distance. Has a really tiny elevator to help you with your bags.

I’m sure some folks would be okay with this lodging, but it was our least favorite of the 6 places we stayed in Italy. The location was between restaurants in a very touristy area. Up three flights of stairs to a very small room. Air conditioner hasn’t been cleaned in awhile and was full off dust and smelled like moldy cheese when running. One positive was the car service that was waiting right outside and quickly got us to the airport.

I don’t know how this property has 9.4 rating overall but it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed There was a terrible smell when you enter the hotel. There was a dusty smell when you turn on A/C in the room (probably they don’t change the filters!) Bathroom was so small, shower area was very very small. room was uncomfortable Wi-Fi was terrible, I needed to work sometime but, it was very hard. Breakfast was alright but just ordinary, croissants were not fresh. Anyway, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

The property does NOT look at all like the picture. The place was dirty, walls weren’t even painted, it smelled, etc. When I told the owner we would not stay there and had to find another hotel, I got a smiley face emoji in response! They also charged us the full amount and then another $164 for some unknown reason. They will not refund our money. These people are falsely advertising their property and are terrible. Do not stay here!

Pictures are better than the place. Beds are uncomfortable and indented. Furniture is old and there is not much room for multiple people. Place is clean, but not a place we would choose to stay again. Expensive and needs major upgrades.

The property was so close to all the major sites. The staff was so easy to work with with manager next door. The self checkin process was easy and the noise level was low. The triple room was a bit tight but worked for us. The bathroom was nice although the room could use a bit of updating. There was a restaurant at the bottom of the stairs and they were so friendly. I would stay there again.
