Lory's House in Ostia
Property is exactly as advertised, simple but clean, well-appointed and located within easy walk of a magnificent beachfront with many restaurants and bars. Close to Ostia Antica. An interesting area in its own right architecturally due to the many Art Deco buildings erected in the 20s and 30s during Mussolini's reign. The real gem is the host, Lory, who is outgoing, friendly, and knowledgeable and goes the extra distance to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Thanks for the treats, advice on transit, arrangement for my taxi, the mini-tour and the many suggestions for food etc. We will be back!

Eccellente....tutto! Non ci sono parole per esprimere la soddisfazione di questa esperienza 🔝L'appartamento è curato in ogni dettaglio, molto accogliente, la pulizia accurata. Poco distante dal centro, ma servito dai mezzi pubblici e da vari supermercati, praticamente tutto sotto casa, compreso un panificio che sforna della pizza fantastica! E poi c'è Loredana. Che dire? Disponibile, cordiale, premurosa...ha dato il benvenuto al mio Steve (Levriero inglese) facendogli trovare una ciotola tutta nuova! Grazie di tutto Lory, ci rivedremo presto 😉 Ah, dimenticavo, vicino c'è anche un bellissimo parco per rilassarsi!

Fabulous Time
Lory was a fantastic host and so very helpful to any needs or questions we had and had great suggestions on travel to Rome and things to do. Apartment is lovely and 10 min walk to beach and promenade. Two blocks to supermarket and fresh fruit and vegetable market across the street .

Lory is THE best hostess ever!
Though the location is off the beaten track, Lory made the experience easier by leaving her dinner table and picking us up from train station late in the evening. My wife became violently ill, requing emergency care, and Lory was extremely compassionate and supportive. Our stay was extended because of the emergency and she was very gracious and helpful allowing us to stay longer. When she had other guests coming she offered to hell us find other accommodations. The apartment is very close to a grocery store and every other store you could want. The neighborhood appears to be a regular working class neighborhood. Also, when I did not know how to use the stove properly and I broke something which seemed very serious to me, she was gracious and reassuring about that too. The beach did not appear to be very close for older folks with physical challenges, but that was just us. The is a home, complete with a washing machine. There is a small terrace. The bed was comfortable. The Metro ride from Rome was a little tricky and the train station was quite a distance from the apartment. It is okay if it is early in the day but if Lory had not been available to transport us it would have been a little hard. Bear in mind, we were at the end of a 2 week holiday and being older we were exhausted. All in all, I gave it only a 4 because of the location only. The restaurant down the street was fabulous! Most of the people we met spoke almost no English, so that made it both harder and more of an authentic experience.

Hello Leila, I'm happy you arrived safe home! It was my mistake I didn't give you all the tipps for how you can move from my house, this because you were supposed to stay only one night :-) Next time you will come I will show you how easy it is to arrive to the train station from my home :-) The bus stop is just down the street. From there, you can get to the train station Lido Centro in few minutes. We will go together to the beach next time, so I will show you the short way :-) A big hug! Take care, Lory

Beautiful, clean apartment!
"Lory's house" in Ostia is a fantastic unit; beautiful and very well kept. The best part was how warm and hospitable Lory (the owner) was. Upon arriving in Ostia, she picked us up from the metro station and drove us to the apartment. She also picked us up bright and early the next morning to take us to the bus station so we could get to the airport in a timely manner. She is incredibly kind and generous. We would definitely stay here again!

Great apartment which is an ideal base for visiting Rome
Just back from an excellent holiday visiting Rome and staying in this lovely apartment. The property was everything it is described to be. Very comfortable, well-appointed and in great location with supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. We were kindly met at the station by Lory who was a great host and she told us about the town and explained how to use public transport to travel into Rome which was easy and affordable. At the apartment we were given a detailed tour which made it easy to settle in. Ostia Lido is a seaside town with an interesting history and we enjoyed exploring, we found the locals/neighbours friendly and helpful. I recommend this property and the area which are a retreat from the hustle and bustle of Rome. Thank you for a very enjoyable, relaxed holiday.

Très bel appartement à Ostia.
Très belle semaine passée à Ostia. Lory est une hôte remarquable. Appartement très propre et bien situé. Elle nous a donné plein de bons conseils. Facile de se rendre à Rome avec les transports en commun. La plage est à 10 minutes de marche. Les services sont à proximité et l'aéroport à 15 minutes. Nous recommendons cet emplacement pour un magnifique séjour.

Spacious apartment!
This is a very nice sized apartment that is well maintained. Short walk (10 minutes) to the sea. The bakery downstairs is amazing, and you are very close to public transport which can take you almost anywhere in Rome! Lory was an amazing host, and was always available to answer questions! I would definitely stay here again next time I visit the area!

Clean property, the host was Amazing!!!
We stayed one night before we left Italy. Lory was more than gracious. She picked us up at the train station and drove us to the airport in the morning. House was cute and clean. I would definitely stay there again!! Lori & Scott

Hidden Gem near Rome!
Lory’s place excellent for our week of traveling through parts of Italy. We were so close to Rome and not had to deal with parking issues as we would of had to stay in Rome. Lory was very attentive to our needs and made it much easier with directions and suggestions to places to eat near her home. We would leave early in the morning and come to home to eat and rest. Lory’s place has a bakery, coffee shop, restaurants, supermarkets and even a gas station within walking distance. When we arrived she gave us instructions for everything in her home and she even had a welcome Happy Easter bread and chocolate for us. Our flight got delayed and she allowed us to stay for a few extra hours. Overall this a great place if you’re coming to Italy. Lory was very welcoming! We will definitely will be staying here on our next trip. Thank you Lory, we had a wonderful time at your place. See you soon, Jose and Marguerite

Stupenda vacanza
