Charter Sailing in the BVI
The staff was very helpful in getting into our room. On our departure day they assisted us with getting transportation to the airport. The room we stayed in had a view of the entire bay. It was spotlessly clean. There were plenty of towels, hand towels, soap, shampoo. The bed was extremely comfortable. If we do go back to the BVI we will definitely stay in the hotel again.

There was no one at the counter when we checked in at 11pm. We had to find security guard to give us a room key. There is no food service late. There was mold all over the bathroom ceiling.

Being connected is very important in today's world
Wifi is important to travelers from the main land no matter what the travel might be for. It about being connected. If they have limited accessibility which cause them more time and money to communicate, it leaves them feeling short changed. Especially if the hotel lists wifi as part of its amenities, but you have to walk outside of your room for connectivity. It's one of the main things people expect to have available when they stay at a hotel.

Convenient but dirty
Convenient for those sailing with Sunsail or Moorings. Nice pool and dockside restaurants (although unjustifiably expensive). Unfortunately the rooms are in serious need of renovation. The walls need a fresh coat of neutral colored paint and the bed needs new linens and pillows. The bathroom was unattractive and the drain of the shower didn't keep up with the flow of water. Gross except as compared to a sailboat after 5 days. The lady at the front desk was unfriendly and bizarrely aggressive.

Great choice for Moorings, SunSail charters
If you are chartering a boat from Moorings or SunSail and need a hotel before or after, you won't find a better choice than the Mariner Inn. We have stayed there multiple times over the years after charters and will stay there again. The helpful charter staff will roll your bags to your room, which is only yards away from the boat docks. There's a pleasing, open-air bar, a decent swimming pool for lounging in the water, and a surprisingly good restaurant right there. Really, our dinner was so much better than we were expecting, and the service was attentive. Happy to relax, not run around RoadTown looking for another restaurant. The rooms are basic, with amenities like coffee machines retro-fitted into what was clearly an older space. But the beds are comfortable and the linens are new, crisp and clean. The front desk staff is small but helpful. If you check out early to catch an early flight, be sure to book your ride to the airport the day before and CONFIRM with SunSail or Moorings. The hotel front desk is not open 24 hours. This is not a luxury hotel, but it's worth the money for the convenience.

The Hotel Staff is great and very helpful. Particularly convenient if you are renting a boat from The Moorings or Sunsail. Restaurant is good and the staff is very attentive. Rooms are OK, comfortable.

Average hotel way to pricey for what you got.
Rooms where okay showers had mold. They charge 10% room service charge when you get there so be ready for that. That is suppose to be a resort fee let me tell you there is no resort. Too far from downtown to walk, taxi is 5 bucks per person to get you there.

Hope you don't need a working toilet or hot water
Out of the 3 days that we stayed in the hotel, we had water for 4 to 6 hours each day, mostly from 8 pm to between midnight and 2 am. First room we checked into at 3:30 pm, no hot water, and maintenance would be by to fix it sometime in the morning. After much arguing, moved to another room, where we had to squeeze past a rusted, broken, washing machine on the 3 1/2 foot wide balcony to get to the room. This was next to the housekeeping laundry with noisy machines. Finally, 3rd room was quiet with hot water.Each time, desk staff said "We are fully booked & can't move you." After arguing, another room magically appeared. Next morning, ready to shower, no water at all. Excuses all day long. finally back on late in the evening. Next day, toilet broken & would not flush. It took 12 hours to get someone to come fix it. Then when it was fixed, water went out again so it wouldn't work due to no water. Last day, no water from early morning until late evening. When we checked out at 10am & asked to speak to manager, none on site, & would not be in or available for 2 days. If this is the way they maintain the hotel, I would not risk renting a boat from them.

Hour & half wait for room to be ready. Shower cold. Breakfast Al fresco is all well & good but anything cooked is cold. I stayed two nights & was happy to leave.

We where unable to tidy our self shower was not working corevtly. There was not hot water coming from the tap. Do visitors expected to shower with cold water.

Was a good stay, minus the extremely loud construction going on the property. Hotel staff was very kind and did give us a room as far from the noise but was still just too loud to rest in the day. Room was comfortable and perfect for one night in transit from boat to departure.

Good option when taking or leaving a boat in BVI
Booked three rooms (Marina View King) for the night after a 2 week sailing vacation.Upgraded one to an ocean view (#6). However, with ocean view rooms balconies are very much smaller even though rooms are larger and better equipped. Also, Ocean view #6 & 7 are right across from a very noisy extractor fan on top of Charlie's restaurant which meant sitting outside was not pleasant. We did not eat at Charlie's but did have lunch and dinner at the pool side which was good. This is not a 'budget' hotel. Convenient location for Road Town based charter companies like Moorings, SunSail, FootLoose, TMM etc...

Convenient to sailing
We stayed a night before and after sailing with Sunsail. Both of our rooms were close to the pool. There was loud music the first night until I don't know when and the other night the TV at the bar was cranked up until around 1AM. I tried calling the desk at around midnight but no answer and the phone for the pool bar was inactive. There is also limited budget food options in the area. By the end of the day the pool had a strong urine smell. Very nice early in the day though. I would recommend if you can be assured you are a comfortable distance from the pool.

Hotel at Moorings Marina
Hotel is adequate for a short stay prior to or returning from a boat charter with the Moorings. The facilities are a little tired but are pretty clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly and a charger I left in the room was returned to me when we returned from our charter. No major complaints and we would definitely stay here again if we use the Moorings.

"Rooms not Ready"
Hotel is located at the Moorings and Sunsail Charter central. It was buzzing w/people getting ready to depart on their charters. We arrived just after 11am from a smaller charter company and were staying one night with two rooms. There was NO exception to the 3pm check-in! I understand the policy but I have worked in the hotel industry for 20+ years and know that all rooms do not magically appear clean at 3pm. Was very disappointed as it was very hot, humid and raining- no where to store our bags and there is very little to see in the vicinity- so we basically sat for 4 hours waiting to get to our roomS. At 3 pm- BOTH our rooms were ready- surprise. Would have been nice to have at least one a little early to at least store our bags so we could go somewhere on our final day. Very disappointed in that "policy"! Would not recommend unless you were involved w/ the above mentioned charter companies.

I stayed at Mariner Inn to facilitate the survey and sea trial of a sailboat I am purchasing. I Enjoyed several diners at the pool side Caribbean restaurant. The marina location of the hotel with about 400+ Moorings sailboats provided a unique, interesting and relaxing setting.

We stayed here after a week on a boat.
Staff are very accommodating and the room was a double and very nice. Our traveling mates started our week with a single and said it wasn't as nice as the double.

Worn out with black mold
The hotel is very convenient if you are going to be going out on a Moorings boat. To stay there for a vacation or for anything else I would advise against. My room had black mold growing in the shower. That alone would be a deal killer anywhere else. The upkeep of the facility is slipping. Right outside of my room was a giant luggage cart turned upside down with a flat tire. Chickens and goats roam around the island. It is part of the charm. However I don't think they should be roaming around an upscale hotel.

Island time operation that is a place to sleep
Not very flexible on early check-in and no time for check-in listed anywhere in the website,email,etc. (check-in time is 3pm BTW). Whole operation and surrounding businesses owned and heavily influenced by moorings. Not a lot of choices for doing anything remotely local.
